The modern approach to democracy is that leaders are elected democratically and this is enough to establish a solid rock high moral ground of democracy. Then everything these leaders do, whether it is against the will of the voters or without the knowledge of the voters, all these actions are considered as the triumph of democracy. Tony Blair starting a war in Iraq or Boris Johnson disrupting peace negotiations are typical examples of the modern understanding of democracy.

      Democracy is a myth,
Oppositions will always exist, and they will in turn get suppressed, silenced, ect.
We are yet to establish a proper political system.
People don't really realise, that democracy and fascism are extremely similar, in fact, democracy is an evolution of fascism.

Joseph Goebbels said that people do not want democracy. They want a government that provide them with security, healthcare, and give them employement and education. This is what the democrats claim to do but once in power, they do none of that. So the people are not happy and to calm them down, democracy organizes elections and everything starts again. I live in a country which experienced a dictatorship for 20 years and whose population voted almost 50%, in the last presidential elections, for a candidate nostalgic of this dictatorship time.... When I see the level of democracy in Europe with completely crazy decisions taken in Brussels, without taking into account the interests of the people, I start to understand these "nostalligists"... 😒

Regarding the confiscation of Russian assets, it appears that only the UK and the US want the $300 billion in liquid assets seized and given to the Ukrainians. The EU, on the other hand, advocates for merely delivering the interest from the $300 billion to the Ukrainians.
Regardless, the mere discussion of this has already deterred many. Over 70% of countries' reserves were held in US dollars, but by 2022 this figure had dropped to 47% and continues to decline rapidly. China, who held $1.4 trillion of US bonds just a few years ago, now holds $750 billion. First quarter of this year it disposed of 50 billion. It is reported that April saw another steep selloff.
I am filled with optimism at the prospect that the Saudis may begin to accept payments in currencies other than the US dollar more extensively. Should this come to pass, it would significantly curtail the United States' ability to impose economic sanctions on any global entity. The ripple effect of this change could potentially transform the global economic landscape, shifting the power dynamics that have long been rooted in the dominance of the US dollar.
In parallel with this, another monumental shift that is seemingly on the horizon is the potential move of banking transactions away from the SWIFT system. This could mark a noteworthy milestone in the evolution of the global banking system, creating an alternative channel that further diminishes the influence of the US in international financial transactions. These changes, while they may seem distant, could be arriving sooner than we think.
If the US Government had been tasked with undermining its US dollar standing in world markets, I struggle to imagine a more successful strategy than the one they've employed. They often act impulsively, focusing on immediate benefits without considering long-term implications. But we already know that, right?

Swiss banking already take a direct hit from FAB-9000 when they froze Russia's assets and their banks got a rough era for months after that. If all Russia's assets be transferred to Ukraine, the reputation built in 200 years of Swiss banking will collapsed immediately. Its also make multiple developing countries think again before any trading with Western and will try their best to have diversity in payments and credits. The misinformation continues. This channels first source parroted Ukraine. "Russia doesn't have the forces to take Kharkov, only 30k or so."
For starters, this is a new RF army led by an old commander, been in training for 2 years, 100k men according to RF sources. Not 30K
Next, entire AFU is down to 260k across the entire front.
But most importantly, artillery is still the God of War, and RF launched this operation with the largest artillery barrage of the war to date. Serious investment in movements, stockpiles and risk to counter battery etc
Ergo, to those that think (seriously, quoting the Ghost of Kiev news is beyond stupid) , this is a real and very serious attack done in typical RF fashion. On May 18, 2024, new law on mobilization entered into force in Ukraine. With this law, the Kiev regime aims to significantly replenish army units by introducing new strict conscription rules. The Ukrainian population largely disagreed with the new law. On May 18, the Ukrainian patriots, who still had not managed to escape from the country, simply hid. All the largest cities with a million inhabitants celebrated the entry into force of the law with empty streets. A new trend is gaining momentum in Ukrainian social networks. Citizens show deserted places that were once the centers of attraction for crowds of people. People stay at home en masse because of the danger of being caught by the recruitment officers.
The mayor of Dnepropetrovsk Filatov complained that due to mobilization in the city, all public transport and the work of the water utility will soon stop. Empty markets in Dnepropetrovsk.
    '
The new rules caused outrage among the Ukrainian population. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian men attempt to illegally cross the state border by any means, including forgery of documents, dressing up in women’s dresses to deadly swims across the Tisa Mountain River on the border with Romania. Many of them are trying to swim across the Bug River bordering Poland, cross to Slovakia or Hungary by mountain trails, and cross the border with Moldova. Border guards catch hundreds of them and hand them over to the military. Some of the victims are shot dead. Most of the Ukrainians simply try to hide, leave their homes, change their place of residence.
The reinforcement of the mobilization is ongoing under pressure of the U.S. Washington linked Kiev’s tightening of mobilization with the adoption by the U.S. Congress of a package of laws on military assistance to Ukraine, including $ 61 billion package for the needs of the Armed Forces. The law on mobilization was signed by Zelensky exactly four days before the vote in the U.S. Congress. Still Kiev should send more Ukrainians to slaughter, otherwise the regime would not be able to count on long-term support from Washington.

You've argued for fortifications in the now red area. But given lots of UA systems can't fire into RU, why build UA fortifications right up to the border? If UA can't counter battery fire into Russia, guys in trenches 5km from the border are screwed. Even a mortar, just over the RU border, is kinda 'immune'. Yes, UA efforts have been a joke. But shouldn't they have been be built further back anyway? Thanks.

    • @user-li5cr6wv5b
      @user-li5cr6wv5b 23 дня назад +2

First, it's a bs about Ukraine not firing into Russia. They use both drones, artillery and MRLS, Ukrainian and foreign, to harass Belgorod region no problem.
Second, proper fortifications are built to withstand artillery fire. You want manned treches closer to anti-tank installations. However position for those fortified lines could indeed be chosen better.

    • @8wayz2shine
      @8wayz2shine 23 дня назад +1

You do not need (or cannot in practice) build heavy fortifications in a such a short time close to the frontline. But it is possible - look at what was prepared in Avdievka in the span of 10 years. It was well fortified and within range of russian artillery and aviation. But they had plenty of time to build it up and test what is working and what not.
In practice even 18 months are a pretty short time for good defenses, especially when you have a corrupt system with private contractors involved. What the russians did achieve with the Surovikin line was nothing short of a miracle that no one expected. That is what you get when the army is in charge, not the private sector and politicians.

with offensive stalled now in kharkiv, it will be a week or two pause while russia pulls troops from other sectors to fill the ranks back up from the heavy casualties. then russia will try to take vovchansk. ukraine still has plenty of reserves so its not gonna be easy for russia as ukraine gets more ammo.
ukraine will continue to hit russian refineries every 2 days, and destroy russian refining capacity driving inflation up in russia. its been going on for 3 months and russia cant stop it. as inflation climbs in russia at some point high inflation turns into hyperinflation.

Jam/spoof, doesn’t make a difference. Spoofing is coming from ground based EW systems and not satellite based.
With a larger antenna with more gain, the SNR between true and spoofing signal will be more favorable
Spoofing signals are not parallel with true signals and can thus be picked apart when the antenna is in motion.

If I say it enough times it will eventually sink in
Cameras used in drones do not see the same spectrum that human eyes do and this is very hard for sighted people to understand.
What the drone camera "sees" is background and not background .
So the drones flying over airfields see tarmac ( in I-R or U--V ) and not tarmac .
IT then looks at the "not tarmac" to see if it matches any of the silhouettes stored in it's memory and if yes then boom , no more plane .
It is basically like a shadow board or the shadow books automotive parts shops used to use to work out what brake pads your car needed .
As such nothing put on top of wings or painted on wings will fool the drone's targeting camera .
One of the reasons why autonomous drones are not used against personnel is because they can not tell the difference between a russian uniform & a Ukrainian uniform, all it sees is the recognisable outline of a person .
people get confused between processing power and input device power.
AI happens to the data from the camera is inputted into the system not before .
It is basically like using the "magic lasso " editing tool in photoshop .
It looks for EDGES where there is a definable difference then looks to see if these EDGES make up an identifiable silhouette .
Or to put it a different way
If the jets are made from aluminium and they are parked on a big sheet of aluminium , bigger then them then the drone would not see the jet at all it would see aluminium and not aluminium so basically it would see the tyres because they are not the same as the predominant background.
If you get a white sheet of paper and draw a black line on that paper, what you see is white and not white because we can not "see " black .
Black is an absence of light
If that black line was in the shape of a letter F then we would not see the white background in the shape of a letter F and say there is F on the page .
If that F had pink spots inside it we would still see a letter F .
Now if the I/O device on the drone or missile was radar then the tyres would work because the radar would see a weird shape with lots of holes in it where the tyres adsorbed the radar signal .
You have to understand how I/O devices work if you are going to make an effective means of hiding some thing from them

    • @liljasere

This is true for that kind what’s being moved to in other areas is a purely sight based system which uses a picture reference database which have already been hashed beforehand the ultimate downside is the higher quality camera you put on the thing the more computing power it needs it starts getting a bit ridiculous if you want it to be able to do all these computations quick enough on say a fast moving missile the tech barely works on slow moving drones

The I/O from the machine that generated the wonderful 3d image of your child inside the mothers womb is still nothing more than blips on a screen , electronically altered to give you an image that your eyes can see .
Radar is the same, nothing more than a signal against a time base but from that it can generate an actual image of the object it has detected .

in robotyne that town is flattened and why no one is in that town. there is no cover. its why ukraine pulled out of the town and its a grey zone. the russian bloggers will make some propaganda video on russians every week or so sending some suicide group going up to the north and running back after they plant some flag, but the reality is robotyne is a no mans land.
its also russian paratroopers there in robotyn, versus the ukrainian 114th there. 114th is a newly minted brigade and holding their own against those russian paratroopers. so even though the 114th is newly created, they have good command and are well trained that they can hold off against russian paratroopers in robotyne.
it doesnt mean fighting isnt going on, putin knows in 4-6 weeks when american weapons and ammunition is abundant things will be more difficult, so putin is zerging his poorly trained conscripts into frontlines in hopes he can scratch out another meter of territory for the high casualties russia sustained. its why you have seen a 50 percent uptick after the us military aid was announced in russian casualties.
in umanske its a grey area because based on satellite info you dont see alot of artillery fire that flattened that small settlement. the russians were attacking from east. but there is opinion that a small group of russians snuck down from north and planted a flag in a building on the far west side of the settlement of ummanske and then ran. would russia be stupid enough to risk that for no gain and some propaganda message? yes you see it in robotyne every week when they send 3-4 russians on motorcycles to try to plant a flag on the northern most section of robotyne and then try to get back alive.
