- Here it is a step by step installation of the Vance & Hines Grenades exhaust on a 2018 Indian Scout Bobber, next time I'm going to install an high flow air filter and a Power Commander.

I really enjoyed this video. While I personally like the stock pipes (you can sneak out at night without waking the family), I fully understand why people like the grenades. Keep up the good work.

I think I like the other vance and hines for this bike. The bombs are pretty mean but I think the other model they make sounds mean but subtle.
Agreed a big improvement on those standard pipes. Bit loud for my liking. I've seen some nice two into ones. Bike needs a second disc brake with ABS.

Liked. These were my favorites, but keep on mind that girlfriend might not appreciate. This hack will prevent passenger foot pegs. (Unless solved from a year ago I checked).

I believe so but you are better off asking V&H about it 👍

Imagine trying to do this on the floor of a garage with no lift. It pays to have everything you need to do the work properly. If someones going to change out an exhaust system I’d recommend having the parts when you buy the bike. The longer you wait. The harder it’s going to be.

Jus t a quick question, what gaskets do you use between engine and exhaust?
Somehow I can’t get a proper seal on rear cylinder… leaking gases on left side…ruining all sound.
Even having all joints loose I can’t make it fit right…
Can it be a manufacturing mistake?
The one I used came with the exhaust, are soft metal rings. Usually it's not a manufacturing mistake, Vance & Haines has a pretty good QC.
Make sure that the gasket ring is seating properly and when you tight the bolts down, do it little by little and evenly also those bolts need to be tight first then the rest of the exhaust
You applied anitseize to the O2 sensor adapters,but not to the sensors themselves. that might make for a problem down the road.... Just my two cents.....
Hi there, the instructions called for antiseize on the adapters only, besides when you install the power commander it makes you unplug the o2 sensors and plug them off. I’m not sure if the antiseize would interfere with the sensors or something.
Did the sensors have antseize from the factory??? A small amount could not have hurt....... Just good insurance for down the road. Good video by the way !!!!!!

Would be better, A tune will make the bike run properly, especially if you replace the air filter as well 👍

Great sound, BUT... how can I find out if this goes (or not) over German standard of dB?
Best chance is to go to the manufacturer website and see if they give any dB info
I removed the entire stock exhaust by myself without any major issue in about 30 minutes. It's highly possible an true. I don't know what he's talking about.

I followed all the steps, however I guess I skipped something ‘cause the check engine lights on. Code is related to rear O2 sensor. Did you have any similar issue? Or any recommendation?

I did not, I'm not sure why , you shouldn't get the check engine light unless something is not plugged in all the way or came loose during the install

From what I can tell the header pipes are just about the same diameter with the stock ones. Am i correct? All i want to do is get rid of the cats, which are in the muffler. Will good slip ons do me any justice? Not really after sound. Just performance
Yes, I believe they are the same diameter. Probably yes on the second question as well. If you want more power, probably a good tune will do even just with a slip-on

I don’t think so.
Im bit in trouble here. I took out my stock exhaust after a bit struggle and got my grenades ready to install but the issue is the o2 sensor. I have 2 of the o2 sensor which does not fit the pipes. The o2 sensor are small for the screw on the new grenades. Please help me out. I have 2018 Indian scout bobber in Tx
You might going have to go to a muffler shop and have them weld in the proper size tread hole, nor sure why they are not the right size

@@AlbesADV no problem. I overlooked the o2 adapter. My grenades are on now. Your video gave me tips, knowledge and made me think out of box. thanks lot pal. I will install the air filter later on that will help up with more hp power. thx again

I think they might be right, but it's been a while since I worked on the bike

Do you have to replace the whole exhaust system? Or could you achieve the same with just the slip-ons?
You can achieve a similar sound with slip-ons but not the same performance.

Balken Kreuz I haven’t had her Dynoed yet but it’s a big difference. She feels like a different bike. That’s with everything though. Pipes, air filter and power commander.

Much better look. The originals are horrible, how could anyone think they look good ? This is the first thing I would do on a Scout.

This pipes sound amazing in real life, looks are okay. Check out my video for the Roland Sand Designs sound and look, they’re pretty sweet as well.
I dont like Grenades..the sound of these is too dirty, not elegant.
I don't like the look of the grenades, but the sound is marvelous.
They look nice... Two brothers or the grenades are the best for the bobber I'm deciding which one to buy

That is very subjective, but at least is faster better looking and more reliable than many Harleys while still maintaining an American heritage...
