I love the idea that people are gonna mod the regular jobs into Starfield. Seriously there’s nothing I want more than to be a delivery guy and have in depth dialogue and trips I have to make for multiple companies
That's basically part of the main goal of StarSim; simulating how an economy would work in space. Long term the player would be able to pick any job that they'd be interested in and go do it.
I'm excited for this because its a project that can be used to avoid the main story for a time. Theoretically, one could play this particular module until they have enough credit income to support some of the end game build requirements. Hell, I'm all for it because it expands on what The Starfield can be for people.
This is what I love about the modding community, they take an idea and just do it. This looks really well done and sure I'm going to get this mod when I'm on Starfield again over the weekend. I hope this "Star-Sim" is something thats going to be expanded upon; Passenger routes between large settlements, deliveries to LIST outposts, etc, etc ,etc. The possibilities are endless in the Starfield sandbox. 😀
This is merely the beginning for Mining Conglomerate, and StarSim overall. We've intentionally segmented the various parts of StarSim so that we can get feedback early from the community on what is fun and makes sense. Is asteroid mining from the player's perspective fun and interesting? Do the missions make sense? As we add additional features for orbital stations, asteroid dungeons, etc., do they work for everyone? We are approaching everything as early access. If the current version's features meet what folks like, we layer on. When we get confirmation it all works, Mining Conglomerate is complete and we move on to the next feature. In the end, the combination of all these modules will activate the entire StarSim simulation.
@@0grifman1 Discord will probably be the best place to go to as we are developing new content. We'll have developer streams and updates on future modules.
Honestly the only thing in the creation club that seems like its worth the money and fairly priced for what it is. I still cant believe Bethesda let someone modify the files for the jetpack and charge for it. The amount of people and time this clearly takes though I think its fair to pay you guys though if anyone is getting payed. I mean this obviously is approaching a true expansion with the new features, textures, models, and scripts. I personally feel if people want to charge for mods they should have to be on this level. Charging for a few textures/models/new items or a stat change on an existing item is insane. They should all have to include quests, new items, new textures, new models, new scripts, like this. Still wish it was free though as a paywall towards any part of community is toxic and I think will destroy it long term as people are greedy and will of course gravitate to easy cash. But if they are going to let people charge the mods should all have to be on this level.
As our studio's financial situation stabilizes over time, I can very easily see situations where we can create larger scale content without charging anything (or charging less than the equivalent of $5 as we are now). Our goals though are to build full scale DLC content and that is expensive, especially for localization and voice acting. I can fully understand folks having resistance to paid content outside Bethesda, but this is opening up indie studios like ourselves to build DLC which will long term provide everyone with a lot more content to choose from.
@quarteronion How many missions do you need to complete to be offered management of a station? Also is Xbox and PC have the same level of features? I've currently done roughly 20 missions, but really want to try the management feature.
So I have an issue. When going to Argos HQ I can dock but I can't select anything nothing is working the only button prompt I can use is B to exit the HQ interface. Meaning I can't get any Jobs. Anyone know what the issue is?
Is this on PC or Xbox? And was this a new game, or did you load Mining Conglomerate on an existing save? Currently the engine is unstable when loading any Creations that add any new planet-based point of interest or a space cell (as we do). There's nothing we can do to resolve that issue until the bug is fixed in the game.
Unfortunately, there are issues in the game with trying to load new space cells in an existing save. It has seemed like some folks are able to load StarSim on an existing save, and some are having major issues. We have no way to resolve that issue as its an engine limitation currently until a bug fix is added to Starfield. It completely works on new game or NG+, and that is all we can recommend currently.
For the moment, it disables achievements as there was a last minute issue with the achievement friendly flag. All StarSim modules are achievement and lore friendly, so as soon as we get the greenlight from Bethesda, we will be turning the flag back on. There's currently no ETA though for when we're allowed to do so.
It has been discussed, but we're trying to limit this to space only to limit compatibility issues for other authors/teams with planet-based content. The more we touch, the more it clashes with something else. What it does do, once we have orbital support stations added in the next monthly update, is provide an interface for surface-based projects to hook into StarSim's space economy. I.E. outposts you build hook in. Simulated businesses on planets hook in. Vendors at permanent locations (like New Atlantis) hook in. Anyone building content for the planet can interface with this as well.
After starting a ng+ or reaching the lodge for the first time it should show up. the Argos station quest is set up to get given after completing MQ101.
Yeah, the two trailers are rather lackluster. I was expecting more explanation and actually showing more of what the mod does; not randomly flying around shooting asteroids and quickly going through menus. Gonna have to check youtube reviewers or something to really see what the mod offers other than reading it's description.
If you can get BGS to enable Asteroid mining outposts, and tie it in with the outpost barter system. This will be big! - definitely sjould do it if / before multiplayer is in. Will also give you your achievement tag. Am watching this, genuinely, and rooting for ya. 👍
We're in the process of building a developer commentary video which will go in-depth into where the build is now, and what we're currently working on for the current monthly sprint. We should be able to get this out soon (just pinged our lead artist on progress). We are also going to start getting some of the team streaming on our Twitch channel as we build out more content for Mining Conglomerate in the near future. Especially as we create the orbital support station orbiting Jemison.
saw this on the new trailers or reviews of creation kit, the name sounds so good, i don't even own the game, but sounds like a great mod! I hope for all the success
Currently yes, though this will be achievement friendly. That may change in the future when we're able to update it with the achievement friendly flag. No ETA though.
@@quarteronion Thank you. It still sounds and looks great I'm going to get it anyway thank you for your hard work I can't wait for the rest of the sim series.
@quarteronion will wait then. Really excited for more things to do with your ship, the space battles are my favorite part of starfeild.however I worked hard to get close to the achievements and don't want to lose all that work.
Is that a Bethesda thing? Such that even though the mod itself doesn't impact mechanics in such a way that it's technically a 'cheat,' it's not a Bethesda-made mod and therefore not eligible to be achievement-friendly?
Agreed! And as we build out the rest of the Mining Conglomerate roadmap, it will cater to all play styles. You can already mine if you want something simple and straightforward (and was requested quite a bit for folks from Eve Online), fight Spacers in whatever difficulty aligns to your ship combat tastes (and wait to see when our first patch gets approved how much fun the Protect Station Hard missions are now), and generate credits and levels. With the rest of the roadmap, you'll have new places to explore, new equipment, and a voiced storyline to work through.
We're all ears on how to pay professional developers without money. Those pesky bills and all. Only real option is to get funding, but whomever we get that from would expect it to be paid back at some point so that doesn't solve anything. If there's some other way we can build free content and compensate the team, we would gladly do it. We will build free content in parallel but when we're able to comfortably pay the team and it won't impede the studio's stability.
I hope you'll update it to add more personality to the mod in the future. I like the idea.. but just docking into the station and being hit with a terminal screen for more radiant quests is a bit disappointing.
