Microneedling is truly changing the game when it comes to providing safe and effective treatments for skin of all tones and ethnicities.
Where we once only had lasers and IPL (intense-pulsed light), now we have a color-blind technology that offers the same low commitment with excellent results.
    Want to know more?
Microneedling, like lasers, IPL, and RF MIcroneedling, creates collumns of damage in the skin. The body responds with a healing cascade, and the result is new skin cells and an increase in collagen - i.e. smoother, more youthful (at a cellular level) skin with an even skin tone (no more dark spots).
The thing is, the heat from RF Microneedling, lasers, and IPL can cause a bad reaction for people of certain ethnicities (that's right, it's not even about skin color, it's about your genetic makeup and how that affects the sensitivity of your skin). When this bad reaction happens, the skin can do 1 of 2 things: turn unnaturally white (hypopigmentation - think of old scars and old stretch marks) or hyperpigmentation (dark spots).
Since microneedling doesn't have any heat involved, it's one treatment we're able to be just as aggressive with on all skin types.
There are, of course, new types of lasers that are specifically tuned in for different skin types, and we do offer those at our practice, as well.
