It's coming together! Hopefully your wife doesn't do what mine has done, and decide to go with a sand floor inside the coop. Those 2x4s would not be happy with the extra weight! I'm nervous for my 10ft x 6ft coop with 2x6 floor joists on 16 inch centers! It *should* be fine... assuming the whole thing doesn't sink!
Sand? Ohh my. I'd have to draw a hard line there and say that is for the next coop :) I am a bit concerned for the long term stability of the 2x4s but with the 2x6 perimeter if something starts to look saggy I'd have to crawl under there and replace the 2x4 with a 2x6. yes, that would suck and would have been easier to do right up front but we are taking the chance due to lumber prices. I need to get the run built so the girls can get outside right now, coop basically done. Then my next project is already set. I need to build an area for pigs. We get our first two gilts in 2 days, first boarling in 8 days and looking for the 2nd boarling. I need a place for them!
I only knew the angle differences so just assumed that a 21degree nailer was a 21 degree nailer. Ohh well. Next time I get to the local HF I'll ask them which nails for this nailer. It is a bit annoying that I can only put one strip at a time in with these nails. Thanks!
