steve’s character development is unmatched to any other he really does become a fan favourite extremely quickly especially with him and dustin’s dynamic

@@Corn_Pone_Flicks always gotta be that one person that ignores context. No one is lol’ing at the dad being abusive. Laughing at how ridiculous the notion of reducing literal abuse to “strict” is.
What makes this season stand out from the other seasons is the characterization. The introduction of Max and the start of her relationship with Lucas sets the stage for future events in the show. In season 1 we got to meet the characters, and in season 2 we got to know the characters.

dustin & steve's friendship by the end is just the most wholesome yet chaotic thing, i love it so much!! 🖤 & nancy is for sure a fav, her dancing with dustin made me cry lol

Season 2 is good, season 1 very good, season 3 excellent and season 4 EPIC. Crazy how this series gets better and better each season!
Season 5 will be Legendary.
It's the opposite, season 1 and 2 were the best, then we had good but inconsistent season 3 and season 4 had one good storyline the rest was pretty terrible and the character acted out of character a lot.

i really love all the seasons in different ways but season 1-2 were more true to character/the town
season 3 i'll always refer to as the fun season because it is a LOT of fun but certain characters get ooc and you can start to see the writers favoritism/pandering to the fandom which isn't always a bad thing but it starts to be once you start sidelining the heart of the show
like we sometimes see this in other shows where someone who wasn't a huge character becomes a fan favorite and takes over the show and while i don't mind more attention on another character, some of it gets a bit too much to where you lost what the show was actually about in the first place
season 4 i adore the plot and big reveals, it's so good and obviously i love a new favorite fan character but i agree we have weird oocness and characters pushing stuff (like ships) out of nowhere idk it's weird to me
so though i do really like stranger things as a whole and i think every season is great in it's own way i do think seasons 1-2 were more true to the show and i hope we get some of that back to wrap things up since the duffers said they are going to try to make it more like season 1/bring things full circle again idk
and some of the predictability in terms of who dies every season too needs to be cut down (i don't mind predictability in some regards because i'd rather that than shock value but it becomes so obvious when you so the same thing every season in terms of 'who to kill off')
"Every Breath You Take" is a perfect song choice for the end of this season. It's a song that sounds like a sweet love song, but the lyrics are actually kind of sinister especially when you frame it with the Shadow Monster at the end. Lyrics below:

I feel like the writer of the song wanted it to be romantic but it sounds sinister and didn't intend it to be that way
I love how everyone’s side quests come together and tie in so perfectly by the end of the season.

in the scene where billy watches mom help max get ready for prom... well, you'll have to watch season 3 here to get the point. He looks with some envy and at the same time with sadness and joy, because next to Max is a loving mother, and next to Billy there is no person who would support him, help him, always be there... He's lonely and traumatized and we won't find out until season 3, they'll show what exactly made Billy so "evil". He has a very complicated story, I'm looking forward to your reaction to season 3 😊

Erm no Billy doesn't have a strict dad. Thats an abusive father no exucses for bullying your son like that. I had similar but it doesn't make it ok, no sir. Black parent are more strict and respectful...but thats simply abuse and poor Billy doesn't deserve that sorry excuse for a father. That was NOT discipline or being strict.

I love the dynamic between *all* of the characters. The way Mike's relationship has changed with his older sister Nancy. The way her relationship has changed from Steve to Jonathan. The way Steve has become the big brother to Dustin and by default perhaps the whole squad. I could go down the whole list.
I think the only person who hasn't changed is Sleepy Ted. lol

Nobody hates the season, episode 7 gets the majority of the hate, as a whole tho I don’t think anyone hates the season
I truly loved this episode (EP 7) along with Kali and Els bond. Noone can understand them like they do each other. Kali truly cared for her sister and wanted to help her heal in her way. Kali lost her family and had to survive alone. Shes just what El would be if she remained alone in the woods, having to steal to look after herself.
Kali truly was heartbroken losing El, she was never using her, she simply chose the darker path. I do believe they belong together, but with Kali coming back with El. Eleven is too pure and has a family to go back to fortunately. Kali wasn't manipulating El to be cruel, it's all she knows and found her way to heal by taking the fight to them. Kali cant have a normal life with the government around guys.
Also Eleven has always been special, since shes had more than one power. Not just finding people but Telepathy, Telekinesis.
That one moment on the rooftop in Ep 7 during that brief "calm" with the soothing song in the background is so beautiful

The fact that when it shows Dart's body he's still by the chocolate bar wrapper, meaning he never answered the call, he just stayed there eating his candy... Kind of makes me extra sad. Justice for Barb? More like Justice for Dart 😅

The use of “I’ll Be Watching You” is brilliant. Some of the lyrics fit Mike and Eleven’s relationship well - she has been watching him, and the bridge lyrics “Since you've gone, I've been lost without a trace / I dream at night, I can only see your face / I look around, but it's you I can't replace / I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace” are a very good description of Mike’s feelings during their year apart. The more sinister aspects that made Gaten Matarazzo call it out as “the stalker song” in his Beyond Stranger Things Interview (BTW, if you haven’t watched that you really should), though, tie into the final shot, revealing that the Mind Flayer is watching all of them with undiminished malevolence.
I suspect the music director might have felt that setting Mike and El’s first dance to “Time After Time” would be too on-the-nose - some of the lyrics to that song could have been written for those characters. The chorus, especially, is about as perfect a distillation of what they mean to each other as you could find in pop song.
Dustin could definitely pull off a Matt Smith as Doctor Who cosplay at the end, here

I think Max did what she thought was the best thing to do. She's just a young girl and the other boys are well, just young boys. They probably can pull Billy off together but they gonna get through some awful kicking and beating themselves (if they're lucky). So sedating Billy is a good choice.
I'll tell you what's crazy- expecting some 12 year olds to be able to pull Billy off Steve.

Nancy is one of my favourites too, always has been. Nancy, Eleven, Dustin & Steve are my favourites, but like I said at the video of your season 1 finale reaction, I love all of the main cast, kids and adults. It's crazy that the kids were only 12 years old in season 1 and only 13 in this once. They've been through SO much, especially Eleven & Will, of course (Eleven literally since birth). But then, Nancy was only 15-16 in the first season and Jonathan the same age or maybe a year older, and Steve only a year older as well. Such a brave group of kids and teens (and also Joyce & Hopper of course, and RIP to Bob the hero!).

I don't know if it's maybe been recommended by now but one of the only other newer/on-air shows that I watch and think you guys would enjoy is Outer Banks. The cast chemistry and dynamics are so organic and vibe in a way I think you would appreciate (they improv a lot and it's fun and kind of goonies meets the OC/teen drama), it's not remotely similar to stranger things obviously lol, but the way you guys love the stranger things cast dynamics made me think of OBX.

I couldn't wait for your reaction to these last three episodes! Episode 7 is controversial, but 8 & 9 are two of my favorites of the entire series. Dr. Owens is played by the great actor/comedian Paul Reiser. He starred with Helen Hunt in the sitcom Mad About You in the 90's. He also appeared briefly in season 3 of The Boys. THAT is a CRAZY show you guys should react to.
