I loved your Route 66 trip. It was fantastic. We LOVED Gary. He was a hoot. Also, I really enjoyed Trisha’s attempt at driving on the interstate. I did the exact same thing when I got on the interstate the first time with our Super C. I was driving along, made it through some barriers (Texas) and said “I’m getting off!!” I hit the first exit and stood up to switch seats. My husband said, you can’t do this at the top of the exit. I said Watch Me! 🤣
I love your bus. It reminds me of Illinois Department of corrections prison bus I used to drive. Glad you got to visit Pontiac, Illinois. I lived there for four years, wonderful town. Now I’m close to St. Louis. The Midwest has a lot of great things to offer.
Sorry Marc but Palo Duro Canyon is a TX State Park not a Nat. Park. I remember as an 7 or 8 going from Victorville CA to OKC OK before I-40 was built have good memories.
In 2000 I got a 1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor so I could go with my 16-18 year old girls. We went places and made memories. KEEP the bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can make memories with out kids. It will be cheaper than selling then buying later. Thank you for taking us along on the FUN 66 journey!
Have you guys seen the movie Cars? That reality of the small towns being bypassed by highways was addressed in the movie. I think that team did a great job capturing changes along the mother road.
Enjoy your program my wife worked on the corona task force in the area and could not go out of state so we purchased a truck and a camper started camping throughout the state. So now we have starter on RUclips and etc….. thank you you encouraged us.
When I was a kid in the 70's my brother and I would travel with our grandmother from Jax, Fl. to Indianapolis. Wonderful memories of smaller US highways the whole way mainly because she didn't like driving on Interstates. It also meant at least a three day road trip because she also didn't like driving at night. Motels with color TV's and swimming pools a real treat. The last time we made the trip I had my learner's permit and that had us using the Interstates where I ended up being the driver at rush-hour in Knoxville on I-40. White-knuckle thrill ride as I remember.
What a treat! Four days ago I’d never heard of your channel and now I’ve binged your entire Rte. 66 series. I’m from California and went to grad school at UNM and so I’ve been up and down that stretch of Rte. 66 many times, but I never got east of Albuquerque. I’ve always wanted to see The Big Texan in person and the Cadillac Stone Henge. Your series has inspired me to go just a little further down the road. Thanks, and I look forward to exploring more of your channel!
My wife and I are late 30's we have 3 kids and we purchased our first camper last fall. Thank you KYD, you gave us the inspiration to start where we were. We have had a blast and are looking forward to making many more memories in the years to come. We love you guys be safe out there.
I remember having fun reading the Burma-Shave signs with my brother and grandparents in the 50's on Hwy 395 to and from their cabin at Tom's Place, near Mammoth. One of my favorites is: "Keep pushing up ... those miles per hour ... if daisies are ... your favorite flower. ... Burma-Shave." As I understand it, they were also popular on Route 66, so you might want to look into them and possibly make reference to them in the Bird.
I have been following you for the last three seasons and have loved all of your videos but I have to say that Gary was the highlight of this trip. I couldn’t wait to see what you were going to come up with next and you always found a way to top the last. The stand in Gary part was hilarious. Thanks for the humor.
The best idea you ever had, was to 'follow the upholstery' ! So much fun and gave me many ideas for trips, once we finally get our Tiffin Wayfarer. Ugh. Has taken forever, but you guys are such fun and have made us even more excited to get RVing. Thank you.
Now that you have completed the "Mother Road", I challenge you to take a trip down the "Old National Road" which is the very first road ever created to get from east to west. In fact this road was first bushwhacked by the native Americans. Soon after it was used by the settlers to travel by horse and carriage. Lots of history on this road. Could lead to an interesting series. Good luck.
I’ve always loved your videos ever since I found this channel a few years ago. I once saw you and the bird on my way home from traverse city. I was really pumped and was like, “That was KYD!!”
Getting close to 500K. Congrats guys. I’ve been watching from the original ginger days and am so happy for your success. Especially your kids. Everyone graduating and celebrating scholastic/military achievements is a joy to watch. Keep living and loving your lives.
Palo Duro Canyon is a State Park run by Texas Parks and Wildlife, not the National Park Service. The America the Beautiful card won’t work here. You referred to it as a National Park and maybe it should be, but it’s not.
We enjoy your videos so much! We are not full timers but we do VRBO our beach house and take off in our camper multiple times a year. You give us such great tips, tricks and especially fun and laughter. I have your spices, cook book and bought my husband some hats! First time commenting. Keep the fun coming. Kathy
Loved the season! We did a portion of Route 66 last March. We were actually just traveling I-40, from the coast through Oklahoma but made a point to stop off at some of the Route 66 "Rocks" like the Texas Steakhouse, Standin on the Corner, some of the Route 66 museums and welcome centers and some of the old refurbished gas stations. We used a website called "Roadside America" which has lists and maps of quirky roadside attractions all over the country. We didn't attempt to stay on the "mother road" so traditional navigation worked for us. We also ran into some places closed certain days of the week.
I watch a lot of RUclips content, mostly rv stuff. Most of them I have no clue when they post their videos. But I always look forward to KYD on Sunday night!
Thanks for the virtual experience as we had planned to travel in our studebaker pick up from Chicago like you two but lost my old guy 2 years ago so help me experience our dream through the two of you . Very great full that you shared route 66 trip what fun to watch sitting a home with lots of snow in the yard in Ontario canada at the bottom of Lake Huron across from Port Huron Michigan just a bridge apart from our neighbours to the South !
So helpful folks. We are shipping our Motorhome from the U.K. to Canada in September. We will be taking Route 66 for the autumn before heading to Alaska when the weather picks up. Once in Alaska we head south to Argentina PS. Keep the beard 😂😂😂
Thanks so much for taking us all along! We are fans forever - Love your positive and upbeat content. Of course, your video production skills are second to none. - Cheers!
Best season yet! I loved Alaska, but this season was so fun, the Bird is so unique, you have such a positive attitude and fun approach to the wonders, big and small, along the way… and Gary was the best feature. Thanks for taking us along.
Come to Bryson City NC, the best part of Western NC. We have the Great Smoky Mt. National Park, The Nantahala River for whitewater, the GSMR Railroad, Lake Fontana, the Appalachian Trail, Tsali Mountain Bike Trails, Cherokee and much more. It's the best part of the Southern Appalachians. You've been so close, but missed this great place 60 miles west of Asheville. We even have a "Bird" nearby.
So glad you got to spend time in St. Louis! It's a great area to raise a family, especially due to all the free or low cost attractions (like you mentioned: zoo, museums, science center, magic house, butterfly house, riverlands, forest park and many more)
Great video. We’ve actually been researching Route 66 for a couple years. We bought a Wanderlodge two years ago and have been working on it trying to fix everything we can first and we feel like next year we can do it so this video is very helpful. I’m sure we’ll watch it numerous times as we have with videos from many from other channels as well. Wish us luck!!
The highlight of the entire Root 66 (get it? Root?) Series, was CPR on Gary! Thanks again for great content. Can't wait to hear your plans with the bird... maybe turbocharging?
Great ending to the Route 66 trip. Gave me lots of laughs and information on new places to visit. Love your trips and appreciate all you share. Keep up the great videos . I am looking forward to your next trips and seeing what’s out there in our great country.😍😍
In the dark ages (1963 ish) when i used to drive from home to ASC (now NAU!).... I'd go through Seligman and Peach Springs, Borax and numerous other little Route 66 charmers. I certainly didn't appreciate their charm.... then... I was just in a hurry to get back to Flag! NOW... total different situation! That's why I loved watching this series! Keep it up please! BTW... keep the mustache! I'm partial.. my husband has one! :)
Enjoyed the recap of Route 66. Looking forward to seeing the new changes in the Airstream. Looking forward to a new Season filled with excitement. 💘Happy Valentines Day!💘
I’m completely caught up on all the seasons!!! I literally binged watched them all and enjoyed watching the kids grow up in fast forward. I laughed A LOT. I totally enjoyed watching your travels and learning so much about RV life. I can hardly wait to hit the road with my husband. The Bluebird hat made Marc look like a train conductor with that mustache. Your whole family is hilarious and I hope maybe one day I will see you all on the road.
Your “root” 66 trip was one of my favorite videos to follow on RUclips. You covered it so well and you guys are so fun! What a great journey! Thank you for sharing it.
Excellent series. The humans are great but I think our favorite family members are Charlie and Gary. My road trip dream event would be to meet you all randomly somewhere.
I absolutely loved going along with you! I prefer the non-interstate highways because you see the real area. But then I’m Canadian and our TransCanada & Yellowhead highways go through towns & used to go through cities until they put ‘ring roads’ to bypass the cities.
I absolutely love ur channel. Can't wait till ur next adventure starts. Maybe we'll meet on the road. I'm an RV'er too, but mostly in the Eastern High Sierras. Thank u. See-ya
I’m so glad I found your channel. I ran out of episodes of my usual favorite channels. So I started watching at the beginning today and I’m loving it. Y’all are hilarious!
Welcome! You probably know that our playlists are the best way to watch in order per season. Sorry about the mid roll ads, RUclips added those and I still need to remove.
Thank you for the "Retro Route 66" review 😎🙌. It made anything of interest along that travel route a perk of whatever you desire in traveling to & how far or short .....
8:14 "The Park....Forest....I can't remember the name." SO close!! HA! 25:31 Slo-Mo @ Trish's eyes! Ha! I'm not sure if this is your plan, but turn the "Bird" into a *stationary Airbnb!* Oh, and I just looked it up on your website link, and there is a "Muffler Man" 10 miles away from me!! I'm there dude!
Loved your Route 66 Series! I grew up near Bloomington and Springfield, IL. Also looking forward to the next season. Looking for a Class A now! Bring on the warm weather episodes.
Another great video. Whether or not we ever get an RV, I am so blessed to have found your channel. You sincerely inspire me to live a better life filled to the brim with joy and love. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
Mae the trip to the CA Redwoods for a really spectacular Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue OX Mark! The trees of mystery are a a fantastic hidden gem, especially on a clear day.
I passed right through Winslow Arizona on i44 and didn’t stop. Maybe one day I’ll get back and get my picture standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona.
Great video!! We really enjoyed the Rte 66 experience, along with Gary and The Bird. It has made us consider doing it this next fall. Like you, I was raised in California and try to get back often. WOW - you are going to be empty nesters before you know it!! Aren’t you glad you have all your experiences with your children starting with Ginger(love when you add video of the kids when you first started rving)?? Thank you so much for taking us all along with you!! 😊❤️🇺🇸 Safe Travels
Your Route 66 trip was so much fun! Have you ever traveled the Lincoln Highway? I think that would be fun also. It is the Father Road. This was a great video.
This was a great season. Been watching since you had the fist Ginger. We are on the East side of U.S. and still work full time so that makes us weekend warriors. But we still travel alot! We love watching your episodes that focus on the Western part of the U.S. so we can add them to our destination list.
This was such and great series, loved the Route 66 scenery that you shared. It has inspired my wife and I to make this one of our next trips! Thanks so much for all you share and give to the community!!
Warnings - got out a piece of paper to take them down - sheet is blank? After doing I40/I80/I70 for years, lots of big rocks have been covered, but Route 66 has a lot of little rocks to find. Thanks for listing the research options. Closures - AAA guide books help avoid that fail. Yes, favorite destinations are places that have memories which last.
Ive enjoyed the the Route 66 series. Too cool. I doubt we will ever make that trip, however some of the places you visited have made it to our list to visit while in those states. BTW not sure if you all actually do all your own editing, but it is outstanding. The episodes you put together are at times something id expect to see on television. My hat (non KYD since you ran out) is off to you. Looking forward to more adventures. Thanks for sharing.
"We want to be transparent with our mistakes, and we want to make you smile" One of the main reasons We LOVE KYD!
I loved your Route 66 trip. It was fantastic. We LOVED Gary. He was a hoot. Also, I really enjoyed Trisha’s attempt at driving on the interstate. I did the exact same thing when I got on the interstate the first time with our Super C. She looks at he, he looks at she. Love is in the air. ALWAYS.
I love your bus. It reminds me of Illinois Department of corrections prison bus I used to drive. Glad you got to visit Pontiac, Illinois. I lived there for four years, wonderful town. Now I’m close to St. Louis. The Midwest has a lot of great things to offer.

Oh man… I was waiting to hear Gary’s voice signing off one last time 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for the info!!!
You are so right. Being in an area brings the history to life. Knowing the names of places is not the same as actually sseing them
Have you guys seen the movie Cars? That reality of the small towns being bypassed by highways was addressed in the movie. I think that team did a great job capturing changes along the mother road.
I thought of Cars movie too during this series!
Enjoy your program my wife worked on the corona task force in the area and could not go out of state so we purchased a truck and a camper started camping throughout the state. So now we have starter on RUclips and etc….. thank you you encouraged us.
Julie and I believe we had more fun watching you guys on Route 66 than our actual trip. You guys are awesome. Thanks for sharing
they make it all look magical, no matter what it is. I love watching them.

Route 66 was a great adventure for you to share with us. Even if Garry did loose his head. Fell over to the left to many times.
Hello! Guy from Brazil again!
The 89A limit is 50ft, as you said in a previous video.
I even have that pinned, with KYD next to it!
My wife and I are late 30's we have 3 kids and we purchased our first camper last fall. Thank you KYD, you gave us the inspiration to start where we were. We have had a blast and are looking forward to making many more memories in the years to come. We love you guys be safe out there.
Gary wanted me to tell you about velcro strips.
@Keep Your Daydream my father’s company made fasteners for the St. Louis arch. Namely U-bolts. 😊
Love it. Route 66 is the destination, not the pavement. Enjoy!
I remember having fun reading the Burma-Shave signs with my brother and grandparents in the 50's on Hwy 395 to and from their cabin at Tom's Place, near Mammoth. There's that guy in Uranus. And then there's Uranus. Love your content. So look forward to seeing what the future holds for KYD!
I have the best time when I have a mission mindset on a trip.
The best idea you ever had, was to 'follow the upholstery' ! So much fun and gave me many ideas for trips, once we finally get our Tiffin Wayfarer. Ugh. Has taken forever, but you guys are such fun and have made us even more excited to get RVing. Thank you.
So glad I found your channel while you were driving Route 66. It has interested me for some time.. ...RUclips reccommended your channel it to me.
So glad you all really liked St. Louis. We get enough bad press and its awesome to hear good things from a visitor.
Now that you have completed the "Mother Road", I challenge you to take a trip down the "Old National Road" which is the very first road ever created to get from east to west. In fact this road was first bushwhacked by the native Americans. Soon after it was used by the settlers to travel by horse and carriage. Lots of history on this road. this is so comforting to watch instead of watching reports about the war. God help us bring peace.
I’ve always loved your videos ever since I found this channel a few years ago. I once saw you and the bird on my way home from traverse city. I was really pumped and was like, “That was KYD!!”
Great Recap guy's! And yes you make us smile...I will never forget Marc dragging the Stinky Slinky...that was SO ME!!!!
Getting close to 500K. Congrats guys. I’ve been watching from the original ginger days and am so happy for your success. Especially your kids. Everyone graduating and celebrating scholastic/military achievements is a joy to watch. Keep living and loving your lives.
I have been watching from the beginning also, back before they put the second spare tire on the back of the original Ginger.
Palo Duro Canyon is a State Park run by Texas Parks and Wildlife, not the National Park Service. The America the Beautiful card won’t work here. You referred to it as a National Park and maybe it should be, but it’s not.
Route 66 was one of my favorite seasons of KYD. Thanks for bringing us along!

Sunday nights are set aside for you guys. It's Sunday night programming. I love the content.

Simply love this and your thoughts of Route 66. Thanks and enjoyed. Hugs to Charlie. Love y'all
Nice shoutout to Josh from Through My Lens !! I hope he sees this !
So glad you got to spend time in St. Louis! It's a great area to raise a family, especially due to all the free or low cost attractions (like you mentioned: zoo, museums, science center, magic house, butterfly house, riverlands, forest park and many more)
Love you guys and your family adventures. I will miss those narrations by Gary! He brought many laughs to me as well!
And the tiny hand!!!
We love paper maps - not because we are 'old school' but the perspective is a good snapshot!
Great video. We’ve actually been researching Route 66 for a couple years. I was thrilled to see you promote Through My Lens channel! I've been watching Him for quite awhile. Excellent channel.
Great information on Route 66.
The highlight of the entire Root 66 (get it? Root?) Series, was CPR on Gary!
Thanks again for great content. Can't wait to hear your plans with the bird... maybe turbocharging?
They barely touched all of route 66!
Kyd makes me smile. You help me want to get out and go
Drove to California years ago from Arkansas and hit RT66 along the way some fun stuff and there's always a train lol
My husband and I came to Flag last May to "watch" our grandson graduate from NAU.... we left I40 when we could to "travel" the parts of Rt 66 that were available. It was wonderful.

I think Gary needs to pop in once in awhile. Was so fun to travel Route 66 with you guys.

OMG She's graduating already! Actually my son is also graduating from college this year too. Good thing we as parents don't age much!!
Excellent Excellent Excellent so much fun thanks I really enjoy your adventures thank you for all your hard work thank you!!!!

I just love Charlie!

I’m so glad I found your channel. I ran out of episodes of my usual favorite channels. So I started watching at the beginning today and I’m loving it. Y’all are hilarious!

RVers are such great people, Route 66 is on our list of things to do.

I always laughed out loud that every time you filmed Charlie, it was time for him to take a dump and yes we got it all documented for all time. 😂
Thank you guys for pronouncing ROUTE correctly!! 🔥🔥
Out, snout, clout, bout, proNOUNce it Route!
...doesn't explain the words through or slough... for every rule there's exceptions.
Great video guys. Wow many family milestones this year! Thanks for letting us come along.
Always having fun while making memories is the best
Your Route 66 trip was so much fun! Have you ever traveled the Lincoln Highway? I think that would be fun also. It is the Father Road. This was a great video.
Caught up with your gang just as route 66 began and loved it! Look forward to tagging along thanks!
This was a great season. Been watching since you had the fist Ginger. We are on the East side of U.S. and still work full time so that makes us weekend warriors. But we still travel alot!
I hope ya'll continue to bring Garry along on your travels he j6st adds something to ya'lls family
Awesome trip and a great wrap-up. Thank you. Blessings
Such a great summary video. Thanks for all the excellent content! Just love your adventures! Be safe, stay healthy.
I really enjoyed Gary.
Thanks for the info and the whole season. Also, that's a good looking hat Marc wore during this episode.
