Oh my goodness. I have never laughed so much. This has got to be one of the funniest videos that you have ever done. Thank you for all a great Sunday entertainment. 🥰
We live in East Texas and while on a trip with our Shriners we witnessed a young skinny guy from Oklahoma eat the whole meal. He said it was his 7th time to complete it. We used a battery disconnect on our Jeep while towing. Worked great.
We stayed at the Amarillo KOA on our way to Grand Canyon last June. My family loved it when the Cadillac picked us up to go to dinner. We DID NOT attempt the steak challenge! I enjoyed seeing you give it your best!!
Wow, wow wow, we just moved here to Amarillo from CA. We just ate there a couple weeks ago, lived in our trailer watching your videos until we found a house, falling in love with Amarillo.
Amarillo is a great gem. I miss it daily! Grew up there, but married and moved. Check out the Harrington Museum also with the Helium Monument. Sunsets are the best.
Those jump starters are a game changer, we started out with the oldie as seen on TV "mini max" like 10 years ago now and loved it so much, until it expanded then we got one with a surge protector, can't live without them
You ate way more than I would have tried to. The limo goes to any of the RV parks. We always take the limo because it's awesome. Lol The museum is definitely worth the stop.
Endless fun and hilarity in the entire episode from Tricia’s uncontrollable laughing at the “tache” reveal, too Marc being foretold his out in the steak challenge and of course the ever ridiculous mimicking from the back seat by Kaleb all finished by the “Any snacks” 😂
Caleb, anything to snack on? Wait for it….. Steak! 😂 It’s 1/29/22, I’m a truck driver waiting for the snow to stop in N Bergen NJ. You’re getting about the same mileage and range as a 18 wheeler. Love you guys. Excellent episode! Safe travels.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!! That "snack-steak" that Caleb dropped had me R.O.L.L.I.N.G.!!! So glad y'all took the steak challenge! I love the memories you guys make. I sssoooo look forward to Sunday nights! 🤩
Wow, what fun! This brings back SO many memories of my time in Amarillo in the 80s. After a night on the town, my crazy friend talked me into footing the bill for his attempt on the 72 oz steak at the Big Texan. Of course he couldn’t finish it, and I paid. Also many memories of long-hauling I-40, paralleling Route 66 in the big truck. Many thanks for the ride-along. Happy Trails
I recall driving my non RV vehicle down I-40 from Oklahoma City on the way to Santa Fe, NM and seeing that sign in Amarillo. For one moment I considered attempting to inhale those SIX POUNDS of steak for free- but then I looked at the map and saw very few rest stops or gas stations from Amarillo to the New Mexico border and didn't want to chance having nowhere near to answer nature's call when it wouldn't have taken 'no' or 'WAIT' for an answer! You RVers are SO lucky you get to take your plumbing WITH you! Good job, Caleb! Nice try, Marc. Great job showing us Route 66 highlights! Thanks!
Hearing you talk about an old wooden Maharaja ski brought back some memories. I learned to ski on an old wooden Maha as well on Lake Mead. Fun fact, The Fonze was skiing on Maharaja’s when he jumped the shark on Happy Days.
How brave of you both to attempt the steak challenge at The Big Texan. I thought your mustache increased your chances of finishing! Love that you’re able to make all these memories and are willing to share them with us!
This was the coolest restaurant we had ever been to traveling as kids! It was so cool to ride from the KOA in the white limo with horns on the hood and then sit in that huge rocker!
Our first RV trip (rental) from Tampa to Glacier National Park my Moses sat behind me like Charlie did here ... he was petrified of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" as I named her. She was noisy, loud and shook all over (2019 30' Thor). We drove 7,500 miles on our maiden journey. We now own a 2020 Tiffan Wayfarer 25' ... Moses loves the theater seats ... Our "Tillie" is quiet, smooth and delightful Moses is a great traveler in our sweet "Tillie" You were a big inspiration for us getting on the road Thank you ❤❤❤
Hands down, best episode ever. I have no doubt Marc has been a funny guy all his life but these episodes that showcase it are hysterical. Best parts were all the contest edits, Marc asking what’s for dinner behind the camera, and then near the end with the throw down of the steak in the styro container when he says he’s hungry and is there anything to snack on? So great…
The Big Texan steaks are fabulous. I just stuck with the normal size. It’s been a several year since I passed through there. I stayed at a KOA campground and the restaurant would come and pick you up in an old Cadillac with big steer horns on the front grill if you needed a ride.
FYI Mark, letting a car battery die so many times shortens its life considerably. When we had a Class A and tow vehicle, I installed a toggle switch to isolate the car electrical system from the battery. This way the steering wheel is unlocked for towing safely but the battery is again isolated from the car electrical system and not draining the battery.......easy peesy and Mr. Google will show you how......GL
I can't believe y'all tried that. That was hilarious! Great video! Had a friend whose daughter's boyfriend actually finished the meal. They said he looked 4 months pregnant and groaned all the way home to Albuquerque. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
About the hot lead through the tow plug: when we had the tow bar put on our 2017 Cherokee, the shop put in the charge line (with circuit breaker) from the battery bay to the plug and from the plug to the Jeep battery for about $100. Some vehicles, like Jeeps, may have electric power steering so the “kill switch” to disconnect the battery is not a good option. Good luck, safe travels!
We did RT 66 last May form our home town area of St. Louis to Williams AZ. We detoured up to Monument Valley UT, Moab UT and Estes Park Co. It was an amazing 26 day trip with our fiends and our 5th wheels. We loved everything we saw on RT 66; Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Cadillac Ranch, Mid Point Café, Petrified Forest, Winslow (Standing on the corner! The Relic Brewing Co. was awesome!), the Meteor Crater and so much more! I have to tell you guys that we really like your neck or the woods, Flagstaff and Sedona area are amazing! One of the many highlights in AZ, beside the big ditch :) was Jerome. We ate at the Hunted Hamburger, very cool place, good food and fun! Love your videos, we are looking forward to more travel soon. Have fun and stay safe!
Marc you look handsome with or without a beard! Those steaks were HUGE! Yikes. What a good guy going to retrieve that box…not sure I could have done that. Funniest moment, “Hey Caleb, is there anything back there I can have for a snack?” LOL!!!!!!
I noticed a couple cars pulling off the road ahead of you at 06:04... once they saw that big Officer Marc mustache in the rear view, they knew what to do! Woopwoop👮♂️🚨👉
We've stayed at the big Texan rv park 4 times in 2 trips out west, with the limo's parked there. A little quirky but clean, good people, convenient, surprisingly quiet. You have to be careful picking RV parks in Amarillo, they are all next to either the rail yard, airport, feedlot, or I40
We live in WV. We went to the Big Texan on our way to CA. We stayed at the hotel. We ate dinner that night and then breakfast the next morning. The whole experience was great! We have 4 children and we have traveled all over the US. We love your family and love watching your adventures!
I was just thinking earlier today that Marc does the best how to videos...when Marc was detailing the "how to" of how to win an eating contest....I lost it!
I met Daina at an RV event in December of 21. She recognized my KYD hat and told us about meeting y'all and how you are as awesome in person as you are on video. Glad to see she made the video.
I knew something was different when I saw your video pop up but I couldn't quite figure it out..I said that must be a repeat from 10 years ago. Then of course I got it!...so funny her reaction. I was laughing with her too.
We have been following along for a little while on your journey. When we have a moment here and there we go back and watch some of your older videos. This one was a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing.
Yep, I skied on a Maharaja too, for about 8yrs. HEY, THE RIGHT SIDE TOW PLATE ON THE SUBARU IS LOOSE!! When you jumped on the tow bar it was clearly loose. Make sure to CHECK IT OUT.
What a hoot! I love the "Stache mode" comment from Trish....and what a great coach for Caleb "you're gonna make your future self proud". I don't know how, but you guys just continue to get better and funnier. Love You guys. God Bless😘
We love love love your videos. We always enjoy and look forward to each Sunday so we can see what you have been doing. We have laughed so much tonight watching this video. Thank y’all for being so kind and enjoyable.
I've seen a lot of big guys thinking they can finish that steak......NOT! There is a little petite gal from Bellevue, Ne who not only finished it and everything on her plate in about 16 min, she then ordered another one and finished 3/4 of that! She left those guys sitting in the dust!! Now THAT was funny! And so is this! 😂
Chet Ripley and ol 96er came to mind on this one. Awesome vid as always. Love you guys, you keep my fiancé and myself camping/ traveling itch in check while we're stuck in frozen michigan. Come on spring time.
Nice try on the steak. Reminds me of the Great outdoors movie! I liked the part when you were talking about waterskiing. Bob Maher that made all the maherajah water skis lives next door to my aunt in Clearlake,Ca. He’s still making them today along with charcuterie boards and all sorts of things at 80 something years old. He’s a cool guy
Eating the 'best of the crest' - Steakside was alive & well !! 🙌 👍 🥩🥩. Touring the journeying of Route #66 is a gem at roadside, continued 'can't wait' excited..... 🙏
I have a picture at the half way sign too! My sister and I drove from Florida to Las Vegas about 4 years ago! Was so fun to relive the memories thru your video! ❤️
Guys this video was sooooo fun... great memories there at the steakhouse (also on our bucket list) and it seems like the Subaru could certainly use the kill switch!!
When my daughter was ten she asked me after she turned 16 and could drive, could she take a friend and drive all of Route 66. Very surprising from such a young one.
Awesome! You have so much fun. We just traded our Class C for a fifth wheel and we are excited to hit the road in the spring. Thank you for our weekly entertainment.
I know we are late to the party in watching and commenting, but we were out celebrating our 32nd anniversary. Anyway, we laughed so hard my chest hurts, I can't even breathe right now. Marc you were right, this is the funniest video you have ever done. Absolutely loved this one. 🤣😂😅😂🤣
Oh my, this was a great episode! Mark, you look so different with just your mustache, so funny how Trish couldn't keep a straight face when she looked at you. I'm super impressed that you and Caleb even tried eating all that steak, which looked really yummy-just to much of it. lol You both did well though, especially Caleb! Love you guys doing RT 66, so fun to watch! Hugs, Brenda
Great video, enjoy seeing you guys get your kicks! Wanderlodge insider tip: gas cap hangs perfectly off the inside of the filler door lock, bonus is you cannot close the filler door without putting the cap back on, 2 birds with one stone! Yea, you are screwed if you forget both! My bus came with the exotic red solo cup cap on my filler, I had my brothers (machinists) make me a new bird cap, so now I really do not want to loose it.
Great try on the 72 oz, Mark and Caleb. You guys should be proud. We have a jumper similar to that and love it. What a life saver. Fun Video. Thank you for sharing. Mary💕Fred
Seen your rig running down the road recently. Julie and I love you guys. Whether it's a good moment or bad with you guys, it's always a pleasure sharing your experiences. Route 66 is a lot of fun. We had a restaurant in Oregon that offered the same deal, it was called Old Country Kitchen and l thought about their challenge back in the day. The closest I could get to 72oz was downing a 40oz steak (food coma), but that was my limit. THANKS FOR SHARING. STAY SAFE OUT THERE. PEACE
Oh my goodness. I have never laughed so much. This has got to be one of the funniest videos that you have ever done. Thank you for all a great Sunday entertainment. 🥰
I keep coming back to this over and over. The stash and the side comments like “the meat sweats” have me rolling every time.
THANK YOU!!!
Ending was funny.. Caleb is there anything to eat back there, slaps down more steak, lol!
Trish and Marc thank you for bringing us along all these years you guy's are amazing.
I saw the thumbnail, and haven’t watched the video yet…. Where can I find, and sign, the petition for the ‘BRING BACK THE BEARD!’?
This has to be the best episode ever! TEXAS STEAK CHALLENGE!
Check out, yt:
BeardMeatsFood.
He beat the challenge, and ate that steak, by himself!
OH MY GOSH! You guys absolutely cracked me up tonight. The shaving segment had me rolling. GREAT! GREAT! Episode tonight. One of the best yet.
We live in East Texas and while on a trip with our Shriners we witnessed a young skinny guy from Oklahoma eat the whole meal. He said it was his 7th time to complete it. We used a battery disconnect on our Jeep while towing. Worked great.
OMG, best episode thus far on Rt. 66. 1984 Bird meets 1984 'Stache. Tom Selleck would be proud! This is episode is just priceless. Pure gold!
I don’t care what anyone says.. that stash is EPIC!! Lol!!!
We stayed at the Amarillo KOA on our way to Grand Canyon last June. My family loved it when the Cadillac picked us up to go to dinner. We DID NOT attempt the steak challenge! I enjoyed seeing you give it your best!!
The envelope please…award for best RV RUclips video ever!!
Gemini Giant has a good seat!
Russels Travel Center, 1st exit in
New Mexico, has a terrific auto museum. It's free and always open!
Wow, wow wow, we just moved here to Amarillo from CA. We just ate there a couple weeks ago, lived in our trailer watching your videos until we found a house, falling in love with Amarillo.

Your positive energy is amazing, no politics, no drama. I love it all, PLEASE keep it going, Sundays are awesome thanks to you guys.
I’m a female (60) solo traveler and I love my little charger/jump starter/flashlight!!
I recall driving my non RV vehicle down I-40 from Oklahoma City on the way to Santa Fe, NM and seeing that sign in Amarillo. Okay, the steak snack on the dashboard was priceless! You all are so good at putting comedy into your videos!
This was the coolest restaurant we had ever been to traveling as kids! It was so cool to ride from the KOA in the white limo with horns on the hood and then sit in that huge rocker!
You guys are fun to travel with!

If you want the battery to not die, take the negative cable off the battery. So fun to watch this episode.
Love this show, it's like watching Father Knows Best
FYI Mark, letting a car battery die so many times shortens its life considerably. Another great, and hilarious, video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Safe travels!
My husband bought me that same charger when my outback battery was acting up. It’s great. Love it. Highly recommended.
I can't believe y'all tried that. That was hilarious! Great video!
Had a friend whose daughter's boyfriend actually finished the meal. They said he looked 4 months pregnant and groaned all the way home to Albuquerque. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ok The mustache is so 70's lol Love it!!!! That said you look so much younger Clean shaven
Y’all truly are a blessed family making awesome memories 🍻
I love Trish’s comment. “We need to talk to you about Area 51, and we need you to sign this photo”! 😂❤️ it
Caleb must never be allowed to go off to school! He is sooooooo funny!
It’s a softball catchers mitt sized steak 🥩 but it’s the potato and fixing that do you in! 🤠
HA! Love it!!!! Thanks for letting us watch! And thanks for hangin at Santa Monica!

Great effort but I think Ron Swanson would have been disappointed in you Mark. Lol. Caleb killed it. Great episode.
My favorite thing about kyd Is when you forget that it is Sunday and then you get the notification, I think that is the best felling
Loved your shout out to Riley from SLV! Yes. I think he could tackle that steak too. Your trip is awesome. Thank you, for taking us along.
I was just thinking earlier today that Marc does the best how to videos...when Marc was detailing the "how to" of how to win an eating contest....I lost it!
Honestly Mark, if you don’t hurl, you win. We’ve been twice, and the one person we saw “win” didn’t look like a winner at all by the end. Well done!!
Shamrock has the most amazing restored old gas station. We ate dinner at Big Vernes. Stayed south of town at a self serve rv park.
Yes, we'll have to stop on our way back east.
I met Daina at an RV event in December of 21. She recognized my KYD hat and told us about meeting y'all and how you are as awesome in person as you are on video. Glad to see she made the video.
How did you not stop in Shamrock? Only one of the most iconic sites on the entire route there, the Conoco Tower Station/U-Drop Inn.
That's when we were sick and blitz from OKC to AZ. We'll come back.
I don’t think I’ve laughed that much in a long time !!
I'm loving the Route 66 adventures. My husband recently retired, and we are going to do this. Loved this video and always enjoy KYD❣❣
Yes, that battery jumper is amazing. It jumps our 15 passenger diesel van batteries just like it did on your car.
Yep, I skied on a Maharaja too, for about 8yrs. HEY, THE RIGHT SIDE TOW PLATE ON THE SUBARU IS LOOSE!! When you jumped on the tow bar it was clearly loose. Make sure to CHECK IT OUT.
I love this episode! Way to rock the fire fighter stache LOLOL! Now that we're back home in Amarillo I'm suddenly hungry for some big texan! lol
What a hoot! I love the "Stache mode" comment from Trish....and what a great coach for Caleb "you're gonna make your future self proud". I don't know how, but you guys just continue to get better and funnier. Love You guys. God Bless😘
Great video as always, I love Trish’s reaction to Marc’s beard being shaved off too funny. 😂
Oh the snack at the end was hilarious!
It the John Candy movie " The Great Outdoors" when he ate the steak.. so funny
I feel so bad for the bathroom 🚽 in the Bluebird!!! Awesome video 😂😂😂
Keep the 'Stach Marc !!!! Thats one heatlhy brewster !
He should have had a pint while working on that steak! It might have been easier with proper lubrication!
Jim Croce!!
He could DEFINITELY do the Steak Challenge!
🥩
Bill was quite the funny man in this one!
Got a good laugh over “is there any snacks back there? Anything to eat?” 🥩 Lol. The question is… how long will it be before you eat steak again?
Eating the 'best of the crest' - Steakside was alive & well !! 🙌 👍 🥩🥩. Touring the journeying of Route #66 is a gem at roadside, continued 'can't wait' excited..... 🙏
I have a picture at the half way sign too! My sister and I drove from Florida to Las Vegas about 4 years ago! Was so fun to relive the memories thru your video! ❤️
I was route’n for ya Marc. ☹️😥. Figured Caleb would get it done. I had hollow legs like him when I was young.
Great episode!
Having been there a couple times I was LOL'ing hard at your confidence off the top.
Trish---I do the same thing when my hubby shaves and just has a mustache. It makes me think of the 70s hot rod shows. hahahahahah
Mark you need a cowboy hat with that mustache😂😂😂great videos guys.. Safe Travels
We did Route 66 last year during Covid. Sweet trip. I love your class A. The bird is beautiful. My favorite color is orange so there’s that too.
The Agony of Defeat. Great editing.
You will fail Marc, most people do fail. Your friend's analysis was spot on. Your funniest video by far. Great job guys.
I learned to ski on cypress garden skis. Good memories
I know we are late to the party in watching and commenting, but we were out celebrating our 32nd anniversary. Anyway, we laughed so hard my chest hurts, I can't even breathe right now. Marc you were right, this is the funniest video you have ever done. Absolutely loved this one. 🤣😂😅😂🤣
Happy anniversary! Thanks :)
Oh my, this was a great episode! Mark, you look so different with just your mustache, so funny how Trish couldn't keep a straight face when she looked at you.
Mary💕Fred
Excellent Excellent job Thanks for the extra effort 👌 thank you
Seen your rig running down the road recently. Julie and I love you guys. Whether it's a good moment or bad with you guys, it's always a pleasure sharing your experiences. Route 66 is a lot of fun. This was one of the funniest videos in a long time. I am taking my family on our own RT. 66 Tour.
Enjoyed the video. I would not come close to eating all that Texan meal either. Thanks for bringing us along.
attach the positive lead to the battery first, then attach the negative to a ground. Less chance of a drawing a spark. Enjoying the RT 66 videos.
Good point. The Noco is off which is nice.
