The Overwatch Shorts and cinematics have always been amazing, but they just keep reaching new heights of production quality. The balance of action, humour, jeopardy and sadness in the Kiriko trailer is spot on(Although the Mei one remains my personal favourite, it had me virtually sobbing when she found herself all alone). I've been playing and enjoying Overwatch 2, but atm it's essentially the same as the original, just a bit glossier and updated. I'm mainly waiting for the story/pve modes next year, as I feel it's a tragedy that this epic world with it's amazing lore and characters hasn't had story modes before now.

To answer your question early in the video about OW PvE/story. Yes it is still happening, however, they decided to decouple the PvP and PvE of OW2 due to how long it was taking them to get OW2 out. Last I checked the PvE is planned for release in 2023 and they are planning on releasing it with their seasonal content plan since they moved OW to a free 2 play monetization system. We do not have all the information at this point in time on exactly how they will release the PvE but it is assumed to be released for free during the season updates but this is not confirmed yet.
Winston's VA, Crispin Freeman has a very diverse set of voices... Like seriously, the guy is amazing. => And he's the one that voiced Balder in Bayonetta 2 !
Kiriko's cinematic is one of the best out of all of them. I'm not sure where I'd place it in a ranked list but I would definitely put it into S-Tier on a tier list.

Australia has had it really rough in some areas in the universe. The costal regions are mostly still the same as the rest of the world but the outback is highly irradiated in some areas, basically a Mad Max / Fallout / Borderlands crossed with Aussie spirits.
About the single player missions, they will happen, but they're not in the game yet. and they actually are not single player, is more like a Left 4 Dead thing, for people against the hordes of enemies If you want to try the multiplayer, i recommend you too use a new account, because blizzard put a first time user experience thing so new player don't take much information at once. i didn't use this because i play ow since 2016, but people have been said its pretty good
As far as i can tell the only thing that new "fiirst time user experience" changes is it locks most of the characters and forces you to unlock them by completing a certain amount of matches. And it gives you the tutorial when you first start the game but you can play the tutorial on old accounts too so it makes no difference
@@AtomicAlchemist I think the idea is that it forces you on a streamlined path so you know where to start and expand from there rather than being spoiled for choice and having no clue where to even dip your toes.
If you really liked these cinematics then i'd bet you'd like the apex legends cinematics, they are very story driven but unfortunately the actual game isnt story driven

The saddest thing I’ve heard in recent time is that the main reason they canceled overwatch one to make overwatch two was to do the story mission stuff, which apparently isn’t happening now?
The story missions aren't added yet, just to set your expectations. They released the PvP side of OW2 "early" essentially just because they knew everyone had been waiting a long time. The story missions are set to come out next year supposedly.
Let me remind y'all that Sojurn is actually really fucking old, just a tiny bit younger than Soldier 76. But because her body is mostly being swapped with tech she looks still young. Lol
PVE on Overwatch is coming, and hopefully that’ll do more for their lore. The game being F2P now should mean a better cash flow for the devs so they can put more effort into developing new lore and content. Here’s hoping anyway. i think it would be a neat idea to have a series or movie it'll make everyone happy even the investers because they know everyone will eat that all up knowing the fact that a huge fan base will like it but this is blizzard so who knows
The issue isn't that they can't do it, it's that to make a full length movie of the quality of the animation of the shorts would be a colossal undertaking. Despite only being 5-10 minutes long, these shorts already take as much (or more) time and money to make than full length movies with simpler and lower quality animation styles.

Just an FYI mate, story mode isn’t in the game yet lol. They said it will be next year before the introduce that. Sojourn is very fun to play. Hyper mobile and very powerful. JunkerQueen is a close combat tank so she works best in tight maps like Busan. Again, powerful and fun to play. Kiriko is a great support character, able to teleport to allies through walls, her ult increases allies abilities. Ow2 is pretty good so far but it has massive room to improve.
Quick update about the campaign mode: Its release got delayed, likely because of a certain pandemic. There has been recent news/spoilers that they will supposedly release the campaign mode next year.

FYI Kiriko’s mom trained Genji and Hanzo. That’s why Kiriko can wall climb too and she has special dialogue with them since she knew them as as a kid.

That's the Kitsune Rush, all allies in the path are given buffs to move speed, firing speed, reload speed, and increased cooldowns.

Kiriko, just like the Shimada brothers before, has a fully Japanese voiced cinematic. It's really nice.
All of the trailers have full Japanese dubs, and many other full localizations in other languages.
