I do a lot of other things where a sealer is needed and I would like to add that I would recommend you get a spray sealer that contains UV blockers. That will help with the sun fading the decal. The MinWax is great but you may need to experiment with different sealers as they may react differently to different brands of ink. Epson, Canon, HP and others don't use the same formula for ink. I'm sure there is some sort of standard, but I'm not sure. Also, if you don't have a second person to help make sure the decal is straight, you can use blue or green painters tape to put a line on your window or car where you want to place the decal. Step back and see what adjustments need to be made and make them. Now you know exactly where/how to place the decal so it's straight.
If you spray the surface with water with a couple of drops of dish detergent, it allows you to move the decal to the best position, then burnish to get the water out and leave to dry.
I was debating whether or not to invest in a cricut or just pay someone to print my decals for me. This definitely was a huge seller for me to just make it myself and spend the money on a cricut. Thank you
I learned so much. Had no idea about printable vinyl and I just got asked to make a thin red line flag car decal and I was so lost on how to do that so thank you for this!!!!

I love your video. It is very clear and easy to understand. I want to know how you do your lighting for these videos.I teach online and would love to hear how you get these beautiful videos.
Thank you for the video. I've definitely gained some tips from this. I see it's almost been 2 years since you posted this video though, and I'm wondering how well the whale decal has held it's colour?
I want to get started with this! In the UK we would normally put the car stickers on the inside of the window. I assume I would just print the image flipped so it would adhere to the inside of the car?
We don't recommend that as you will see bubbles! Also, if your windows are tinted you won't be able to see it well if it's on the inside :) As for the printable vinyl, those actually cannot be placed on the inside of the window to face out. Hope this helps!
If you’re simply cutting a single color vinyl design you can indeed flip the image to cut backwards.....in the design center app. Also, mist a little water w/a small drop of dish detergent in it onto your glass before applying the decal, and use the squeegee to push out the bubbles starting from the middle of the image.
im still tryna get it when you made the GET OFF MY Tail with the color printer on the paper how you keep it blue when the vinyl is white and non paper?
Hi, I love ❤️ your videos. I'm a member already. How can I make decals to sale and put them on peel and stick tape. So it will be easier for the buyers to apply? Thanks 😊
after I print my design I then spray it with an automotive UV clearcoat before I cut..otherwise the clearcoat or varnish would stick it all together. cutting after spraying ensures the decals are cut from the waste
So when making these, let’s say I have the printable vinyl, I was thinking I’d have to laminate the sticker to make it waterproof so it won’t mess up on the car. would this spray be protecting the sticker like that?
Do you know which type of laminate paper you would use on top of the sticker? I did the exact same thing as her and when I went to try sprinkle so water on it the whole picture smeared off 😭
Hi, I'm curious as to how quickly your decals fade in the sun being that they're on a car. Does that spray actually protect against that long term? Especially since your using a dye-ink printer, those inks fade within days of sun exposure.
If I want to make a multicolored or layered decal would the best option be the print version? If possible I’d prefer just using my machine. But I’ve only done single layer cuts so far. I want to make a cute Yeti sticker for my mom’s car. I can do single layer but it’d be cool to try a multi color/layer.
Does the window cling vinyl have to be mirrored? Also what all types of printers can you use for the print & cut ones? I have a hp deskjet 2700 model. Will it work??
Was wondering if you can use printable vinyl on a stainless steel tumbler after spraying it with the polyurethane will that keep it from coming off while hand washing?
There was not enough direction for the whale tail. So you only used printable vinyl without using transfer tape? But you used a different kind of vinyl directly in the Cricut for the mama bear
I bought a Cricut explore air 2 recently and am looking up all the different things I can do with it and this video was such a huge help! I have two questions, though. If doing the print-then-cut method, can I use any printer or does it have to be a specific kind (Inkjet, laser, etc)? And If you were to send these to someone would you send it with the transfer tape on the front so they can peel and stick or would you just send the decal on the backing and they could choose to use transfer tape or not?
Good questions! Any Inkjet printer works great with print then cut :) We recommend sending them with the transfer tape at least included if not already on the decal. Happy crafting!
