you actually need to build battleships with carriers. Carriers not only have to be screened by three screening ships, each carrier also needs to be screened by one battleship/battlecruiser. Otherwise it increases the chances of them being sunk
@@Curtwhogames Four Battleships with as much AA as possible. I built four Super Heavy Battleships as the US to escort my carriers, but then sunk the whole Japanese Navy in two engagements. (*sad noises*)
@Curtwhogames I usualy just make cheap Heavy crusiers with light guns to do small damage to enemy screens while protecting the carriers who do the real damage

The raiding fleet can help you to create unvisible destroyers and heavy cruisers to cover your carriers. Just put the cheapest setup with the most speed and reduce visibility with traits and spirits. use interwar plane with no aluminium torpedo bombers. alternative is cas bomber.

Hey Curt, I love to see someone playing navy but it pains me to see you repeat the same mistakes video after video 1) Don't make light cruiser battery 3!!! It gives very little stats over battery 1 but requires an extra steel, which, if you fill a cruiser full of these, will quickly kill your civilian industry though all the imports 2) Don't make DP main light batteries. Same problem as before, they eat steel which navies require a lot of by default 3) Don't put armor on cruisers. As in, at all. Besides adding a steel cost and exponentially increasing IC cost, they slow your cruisers down. This has been tested countless times, armored cruisers only work in MP against very specific builds (destroyer spam), in every other situation including singleplayer they are simply inferior to armoreless cruisers which also have the benefit of having lower chance to receive hits thanks to higher speed
