Wow... I've recorded at Gold Star with Phil... we did background for Bobby Soxx & the Blue Jeans...Ronny Bennett and Darlene Love were always hanging out... What a trip finding this by accident... I was in the band "The Centurions"... we did surf music in the '60's... but originally we were a blues band... Spector liked our band too and used us for backround tracks... Cheers... Jeffrey Lear Bass/Guitar The Centurions

Still love this song. Learned how to do the flange effect myself during the '60 using two tape recorders. Lots of fun.

The "flanging" effect makes this song one for the American Songbook - but the lyrics are wonderful as well, and Toni Fisher did a great job.

There's a lot of great versions of that song: Susan Rafey. Susann Farrar. Del Shannon. Sandy Posey. Scott Walker.
