I am the AP manager at my job and pretty much the only black person in the admin office so I feel that it is my duty to make sure I present myself in a manner that states I deserve this job and to make sure I remain an asset to my company 🥰 Thank you for this video ❤️

Girl, you will DEFINITELY be able to find a job! Especially since your speciality is in medical. If you can, try to look for a internship/externship or ft/pt position at a doctors office or family practice. That will help give you experience to go along with your education! ☺️

I really appreciate these videos. I'm a 2020 high school graduate and I'm looking to get into the administrative line of work. It's good to get an idea of what I'm in for. I feel so much more confident after watching this. If anyone has any tips or advice for me, it'd be GREATLY appreciated. I'm not even sure where to start chile..
Yayy! Congrats to you sis 🙌🏾 I would say try to get some work experience under your belt asap, especially if you can handle going to college & working at the same time (if you’re planning to go to college). A great place to start is as a receptionist/clerk or even a call center type position. You can work your way up from there! Most of these positions require 5-8 yrs and/or Bachelors in the field. Still apply even if you haven’t met the requirements b/c you never know which door can open (and it’s also good practice to get interview experience). Hope this helps 😉

Definitely at the school district as well :)! Some only require having 2-3 years of experience in clerical work 😊
do you set how much you do every day. Like is there a set amount of work you have to complete say in a month and then you kind of plan out your days depending how much you can do in a day. So some days you can do more and kind of hustle and then have some slow easier days? Sorry if that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I'm just thinking about it all lol i'm hoping to apply for a position like this as I just got my English Lit degree. You seem to love your job which I love! stay blessed :)

I have an office clerk job interview tomorrow and i'm so nervous!!!! I've worked in an office setting before but this new job listing mentioned bookkeeping and i started freaking out because i searched up bookkeeping and its mentioning something with money and counting. I got an associates in Office Administration, but the pay is minimum wage here. I literally couldn’t find anything higher than around $8. This was back in 2007 and I still can’t find anything for real in 2020. Thankfully, I just got hired on for the Government in an unrelated field.
Currently I’m majoring in business Administration I’ll be completely finished in December. I been looking but nothing really interest me except office work but it’s hard to find high paying office jobs

Hi hun, yesss welcome to the family!! 🥰 You gave me some great video ideas for future videos, so I will definitely work on answering some of those questions for you. It sounds like you’re definitely on the right track! I would go with a degree in anything business related... Business admin... even business marketing or human resources. Any certificates you can obtain are great too... Quickbooks, Microsoft office etc. Hope this helps!

Yes, becoming an Admin Assistant would be a great place to start! You can also transition out of retail to something like receptionist/secretarial work. Hope this helps!

Did they do on the job training. I have some college in Office Administration. But im back in school for Executive Assistant Certification. I think the course only teaches Budget and bookeeping not accounting. Do I need to learn accounting?
Yes, there was a lot of on the job training. Accounting is not necessarily required unless it’s specifically listed in the job requirements. It’s definitely a PLUS if you’re certified.
@@hannaholivia thank you for responding💖 i can do everything but accounting. A lil bookkeeping and budgeting that's all i can do. I suck at accounting and algebra. I can only do the basics including financial math and business math. My last administration job lasted btw 2005-2015 didn't have that requirement they had their own payroll and finance dept. I didnt have to do anything concerning that. I was blessed. Company owner died and his children closed it down.
If I could get your advice. My daughter went to makeup school for two years. After thousands of dollars, she decided not for her. She now wants to try office administration because her Dad is forcing her to do something with her life. She is 25 and has no passion for anything. She wanted to do event planning then changed her mind. Now she wants to be an office administrator. She has very poor grammar and not organized or detail-oriented. She is basically looking for job so that she does not have to work on weekends. She is in retail right now. Should she pursue this career?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out! Based off what you’ve told me, I’m not sure if this would be the best career field for her. You do need to be detailed & organized to be efficient as a Administrative Assistant. Depending on the company she works for, the job can also be routine... maybe boring to some. She has to find something that she will enjoy doing. Pursuing a job because she wants weekends off is not a good idea. Hope this helps!

@Meg Smith Thanks Meg. Through a friend of the family, she was offered a job in administration in Dec last year. The office administrator was leaving and they gave her a trial to see if she could handle it. It was an amazing opporutunity. However, after two weeks they stopped calling her into the office for training. She called the owner and he never returned her calls. She decided she would just show up anyway on her days off from her present job. They called her and asked her not to do that and that right now they did not need her. She basically never heard from them again. She is my stepdaughter so I have no idea why they did not want her back. It was her mom's friend that got her the job. Thanks so much. I wish I could say yes this is her field but she does not like to do work. Every job she has had they would not advance her or have let her go. We are hoping she will marry rich. :)
