Looking forward to the next vlog , I’m starting college in May for my associates in MA and I love these kind of videos it gives me a feel for what it may look like if I go into obgyn for ma. Keep them coming! ❤❤
Hey! I actually started as a front desk receptionist at a primary care facility and transitioned to clinical. They trained me on the job. I went through a community college to get my MA cert which only took about 5 months. Took the exam and passed.
I really loved your vlog it showed us everything we needed to see! 💖☺️ especially me since im start my new journey and upgrading my position in the healthcare field. Im starting my Class to get my certification to become a MA and must i say yesss im so happy this and still being hands on and active and busy but chill kinda Lol if that makes any sense🤷🏼♀️ cause im currently a travel pca and i personally high prefer this type of lane and work in the healthcare field cause yeah they got 4 years outta me time to boss up !! Your video just motivated me sooo muchh 💗😮💨💞👩🏼⚕️🆔🧪
Hey, thank you for subscribing! I took an accelerated MA night class in 2022 after my full time job most days of the week and all that I recall getting me through was remembering my end goal. Sometimes you just have to keep that picture in mind to keep you motivated. Keep watching videos like this and getting better insight into what it is that you’ll actually be doing. I find that consistently exposing myself to material related to the future I want for myself really helps me stay motivated. Make sure this is something you really want to do and enjoy thoroughly because you’ll need something to keep you going when things get challenging. Figure out why completing this program is important to you & fall back on that anytime you feel like like quitting. Study, study, study and always be open to learn more! You never stop learning in this field so don’t think it stops after school. I hope this helps and good luck!
I want to work in an Obgyn office so bad, but all of the ones near me say they want so much experience in Obgyn to work there. Like how can I gain experience if no one will give me the opportunity 😭
Girl I know exactly what you mean! It was the same for me in the beginning but I just got my foot in the door with primary care and the company I ended up working for had several other offices in different specialties which made it easy for me to get experience in other areas. Just gotta find a company to help you get your foot in the door. I promise most of us started where you are so don’t even stress about it.
Hey those are great questions and I may do a follow up video just to talk about all of it but in my experience I would say it’s not hard, it’s just a lot to learn and memorize. And if you’re working in a specialty field (cardiology, obgyn, podiatry, pediatrics, etc.) it’s even more to learn and memorize. I would suggest anyone just starting as a Medical Assistant to begin in primary care so that you learn the basics. That’s what I did at least. There is some math involved but it is very simple. I am a certified pharmacy technician as well and I would say there is more math involved in that profession than in the medical assistant field. I have been able to live off of the pay I make even when I was just entry level. If I make a follow up video I will put more details there. I make a lot more now obviously and it’s enough for me and my lifestyle, especially since I do not have any children or anything. The exam was not hard at all in my opinion but I also didn’t score as high as I thought I would have so I must have missed something lol. I passed the first time though so that means something. The pharmacy tech exam was much harder. But I also think my professor (who was a retired nurse) provided a lot of information and thoroughness throughout the course so we all were very well prepared. Thank you so much for the questions, I hope this was helpful!
I am a new medical assistant previously was a social worker but wanted to change fields so that I could return to nursing school. Regarding the national exam I took mine through the NHA and it wasn’t bad at all. I actually didn’t do much studying for it because a lot of the questions I found to be common sense but they do have exam prep materials on their website if you are taking the exam through them. Regarding pay if you’re a new medical assistant the pay won’t be that well unless you have some kind of previous experience but once you start gaining experience you can move around. I currently work in an urgent care but I am interviewing for a OBGYN position. Hope some of this helps.
This was so so helpful to me. I’m contemplating whether to do medical assistant I’m supposed to be starting the course in August. Thank you so much.🙏🏾🫶🏾
Thank you so much for sharing, it really helps me to know that I am providing some sort of value to others. You got this, and will make to the finish line sooner than you think ❤️

I like the job and specialty itself, not too fond of the company I was with.
