Your dedication is greatly appreciated. A great picture quality, great sound quality, all perfectly framed for the camera and above all, getting yourself on site to capture this stirring image must have meant a very early alarm call. Thank you so much. Without your dedication, those of us who do not live in the capital would never get to see such splendid sights.
Thank you very much Peter, I appreciate the comment and it’s always good to know the videos I make go down well with those who can’t make it to the locations live! I was very fortunate and was able to capture this on my way to work and only meant a slight diversion and getting up a bit earlier, not quite like the lack of sleep I had when I attended the early morning rehearsal for the state funeral, however it was totally worth it! Thank you for the comments on video production also, it’s warmly received!
If you are not stirred by the Band of the Grenadier Guards playing the ‘Old Comrades’, you must have ice in your veins let alone the marching of the Guard of Honour to stir you - and the Drum Major is something else - so wonderfully smart and precise - such a stunning team effort. 👏👏👌
Absolutely brilliant video - I think I have watched it a dozen times today - great military music, the band and the guard marching - and let’s not forget the oh so professional Drum Major - top marks and thank you for producing this excellent video and sharing it. 👏👏👌👌🇬🇧
First class video, thank you for being on call so early for us. One thing that always amuses me when I watch your videos; the Army always shoves the Director of Music (DoM) to march with the rank and file, the Royal Marines have their DoMs bringing up the rear and the RAF DoM is directly behind the drum major.
Thank you!! Yes, quite a notable difference for all Army Bands. Occasionally it has been known for the regional bands to march with their Director of Music behind the Drum Major and the Band of the Household Cavalry will always have their DOM marching behind the band, but if their bandmaster is directing they will be positioned within the band. A few further nuances for you!
I do apologise for the editing, it was to enable me to get into a better front on position once the band left the gates instead of worse quality video following it continuously. I try where best to keep marches in full or edit them naturally where I can.
March out of Wellington Barracks, turn right down Birdcage Walk (turning left would take them to Buckingham Palace), then they marched left towards Horseguards Parade (where they perform Trooping the Colour). Had they marched straight ahead you would have seen Westminster.

Our amazing Armed Forces!
With Coldstream guards 💂🇬🇧
And Scots Guards!
And the drum major is Irish Guards!
@@hart1918 I am not sure if there are any Scots guards on parade, however there are a few members of the Welsh Guards Band helping the Grenadiers out!
Where is this PLEASE
IKR, lots of height deficient soldiers, even with the headgear. School cadets on a day out?

Punjab - All marches are written as captions on the video and written in the description with a time stamp!
@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere thank you
Ok, I wonder. When they do Guard of Honour like these they usually use the Regimental Colour. but I wonder why they use the King Colours for this GOH
No squaregaiters is a bonus.
What is a square gaiter?
