- The Dark Souls 3 Boss Midir is by far one of the most difficult ones in the entire Series. Many people have struggled and given up, but I want to help. Every hard boss has a weakness though. And Midir's is: he is very slow and his attacks are easily readable. Practice makes perfect!

This videos is a 10/10. I was struggling for a while on Midir, feeling completely overwhelmed by his move set. I watched this video, went in solo with the Dragonslayer Greataxe, and got him on my first try. Thank you so much for this helpful guide!

great tip on using the dragon slayer axe, i used the plus 5 variant & kept using the special on his face after he breathed fire w/ any of his attacks.

This is the best case scenario! I know it's a lot of effort to try and remember everything I explain in the video. But once you do it works out perfectly! Sooo glad it worked for you :)
The guides on how to dodge were really good. When I fought it as a caster, I used lightning arrow and sunlight spear and had a ranged battle with it. It ended up causing that disco lazer attack a lot, but like you said, just straight and a little left.

Thank you very much for a detailed walkthrough of all the different attacks. This really helped shave off a lot of trial and error runs. Not many content creators do this because they are too busy trying to show off their moves or their cheezy mist strats. I also appreciate the slow mo breakdowns of the attacks that really helped point out the combo indicators. Very helpful and quick guide 10/10

3:03 His 6 hit combo is telegraphed by him taking a step back first, you didn't show it here but that's the best way to tell the 6 hit combo is coming, that's the only claw attack combo where he takes a step back. For the quick dash attack it's easier to just sprint left or right when you see him tilt his head down, the roll has to be very well timed because it's so fast.
Yup I always run to the side.
After these tips I got him after 4 tries.

I just want to say thanks this guide is three years old but still held up dont know what i would have done without this
As a person that has no hit midir many times I endorse this guide a few tips he's way easier solo with the ghost summoning attack you can just run backwards abit and start doing a circle around them while running and they all should just miss no rolling needed also when you stagger him you can hit him with 2 or 3 normal attacks before you riposte him for extra damage after you hit those attacks go for the riposte
ive been stuck on him for forever and i already feel improvement after 5 minutes of watching and playing. midir’s going down!!

Thank you Loreena, I died to him 50+ times until your video. After applying your tactics, I got him on the 2nd try. The tip about turning off autolock was particularly helpful, the camera is the true boss in this fight :) Excellent video!
Legend! I tried only two or three times before realising he had so much health and I did so little damage, and I looked up a guide to see if I was approaching it completely wrong. I found your video, tried applying as much as I could remember of it, and beat him solo first try with 3 estus to spare.

Good guide, I remembered about 70% of the tactics you said and it made the fight pretty easy (I remember getting stuck on this boss for hours in my first playthrough 4 years ago).

I'm late saying this, but thank you. When I did my SL1 run of DS3 a few years ago, THIS is the guide that helped me finally beat Midir. You're one of the better guide makers for bosses, as you actually focus on how to dodge the attacks, one by one, with slow, deliberate camera footage to help. You're a treasure. Good guide most of the moveset i knew in the end I think the speech of "you can do it" helped me the most
After defeating Gael I felt like I could kill every boss till I saw this devils face with its evil smile, and I tried to defeat him with this tutorial and it kinda worked I think I’m just bad but I died like 69,420 times and now I’m dying on the inside😔😭

Hey thank you so much I know it's been like 2 years since you made this video but I started playing DS3 after Elden Ring and I just could not beat Midir no matter how many times I tries. I was trying to no damage him just now and I was struggling even though I played this game a lot mainly because of the timing I need for his attacks then I just watched this and I no damaged him literally first try all thanks to the advice you gave which don't lock on and stay in front of him, I dodged like all his attacks like that so basically when I first started playing the game and wanted to beat him for the very first time I watched this guide and beat him and now I watched this guide again to no damage him. Finally beat him!! Thanks so much for you're help. Embered half way through the fight, weirdly found the 2nd stage easier than the first, that infinite laser trick was ace!
This helped so much! I was really afraid of never being able to beat him but escpecially the tips for his more chaotic moves were amazing. Almost sad he's dead now since fighting him was so much fun. Pretty much my favorite boss now, even more so than Ludwig from BB.

This guide was very helpful for me. Midir's attacks always seemed so random and like i couldn't dodge them properly. But after watching this 2 or 3 times i mandged to kill him after 4 tries. The only reason i died the first 3 time was because of the laser one shoting me before i could get under him. (Damn you endless lazer!!) This really helped me so thank you for making this guide!
