When I was a kid, Shaq was dating my moms best friend when he played for Orlando. I came from a hard working family but we didn’t have much. I will never forget, on Christmas Shaq pulled up in this big truck and had this big bag of toys and dropped it in the middle of the floor and said merry Christmas. Me and a few kids were there and it was amazing. I was like 5-6 at the time.
Thank you Shaq. I will never forget that day and till this day you are one of my favorite players off all time!

I am 41 years old watch literally Shaq whole career growing up, I never was a Shaq fan. In fact i rooted against any team Shaq played on. However as I mature and watching him looking at at his achievements on and off the court. Listening to him talk about his life and hearing the stories about Shaq from others. I become a huge Shaq fan. He is a humble person, he is generous and he really cares about people. In terms of all the athletes that achieve the level of success him on the court he is seriously one of the goats off it.

R.I.P to Shaq's baby sister. She had a funeral in my city this year. While people was veiwing the body, Shaq took the time out to shake everyone hand and thanking them for the support. And I remember his father used to pass out gifts in the city during the holiday seasons. In Florida we have middle school which is 6th to 8th grade. I was in middle school at that time. I remember Shaq's father had bikes and video games, toys. I remembered one of the kids was crying saying he didn't get a bike. Shaq's father said be here tomorrow and you'll have a bike. And he was a man of his word because he came back the very next day with more gifts.

Shaquille O’Neal is great, I wore his shoes till I got some Grant Hills Filas, I went with no lights, and no water roaches in the cereal box and sugar water. Those sneakers meant a lot to me made me feel like Shaq himself, in my imagination if he wore these I was untouchable. Shaq made a difference in my life majorly with just a pair of sneaks. He might not know it but he made an immigrant child who knew little to no English in the 90s feel good that he had a pair of shaqs growing up.
