Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa - Intro and Credits

- Опубликовано: 5 май 2015
- Comet raised a Mesa to the western skies.
With the sound of a thousand cattle drives.
A chosen few would see the light
and fight the wrong with right.
Up on the Mesa
High above the clouds
There's a world apart from all the rest.
On Moo Mesa
live the real cowboys
standing up for law and order
and livin' by the code of the west.
Cleanin' up the territory
Keepin' evil on its toes
Takes a different breed of riding, roping, brave hero.
On Moo Mesa
live the real cowboys
standin' up for law and order
And livin' by the code of the west.

I love Moo Mesa.... No one remembers them and for a while I thought I had imagined them lol, I'm glad I found this. They were *real*
I remember it. Now I got a lot of catching up to do.
Same here.
Long after it went off the air, I'd bring it up to friends and they were like what? Began to think maybe I'd imagined it until a few years ago I found it.
I loved it too. I would wake up early just to watch it. Good memories
It was the greatest show ever
Me: I don't like country music.
Also me: Can't stop replaying this.
DangerWarp, I know exactly what you mean.
Same my dude its a great song
that’s because it’s about cowboys, which is more pure country music and not the pop country you hear these days
makes sense :)
Bonus points for having an actual country music singer doing it.
If a show ever deserved a revival, is gotta be this one.
modern day studios would destroy the wholesum flicker of the vhs tape recorded 90's early morning cartoons.
besides, you have cartoons playing 24/7 instead of only weekends now, and cereal no longer tastes like the bringer of life
If we ever needed a time travel device, yall could have found it in the original episodes, watch those instead.
It’s better off being a movie cuz tv shows have more work done
@@springchickena1 It deserves a proper remake without ruining everything with feminazi man hating woke garbage.
Fun fact: It is getting one...and so are Street Sharks.
@@springchickena1agreed today would be ruined by all the pc crap
This show didn't had to go hard with its theme song but it DID and it gives me chills everytime I listen to it. As someone who loves country this theme song is AWESOME listening to.
The singer for the intro is country singer Billy Dean....that's why it sounds so country lol. they got an ACTUAL country music singer to do the intro...hope they bring him back for the reboot, it'd be nice to have him do the intro again.
Oh good I’m not the only one who has considered whether this show was a fever dream.
I think most if not all 80's and 90's show themes were the greatest songs on Saturday morning TV...
@@ShinKyuubi I hope so too, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just bring in a recent, more recognizable singer. I get Laney Wilson vibes if they go that route. Would still prefer bringing Billy back.
I have to admit this.
This has to be one of the best theme songs created for a TV show ever.
Not wrong, but X-Men though....
@@klausduren6596 Classic instrumental theme
No teenage mutant ninja turtles is best song ever
@@jameslawrence8007 80’s is iconic but I’ll stick to 2000’s
Silver Hawks is sick too hehe
I love it
What a magical time the early 90's were.
For tv maybe but not the real world which had crazy shit going on
@@jameslawrence8007 someone told me that too. I always said the 90's was the last great years/era/whateva. Lol course I was a kid at that time.
My childhood, waking up every Saturday mornings to watch this on ABC
You know, this series deserves a reboot. The concept is genuinely awesome. A comet strikes the earth, causing a massive mesa to rise up. Life that existed on the plane it came from mutated into bipedal lifeforms with human level intelligence. With faint memories of the wild west prior to the mesa's rising, a new society was created with their own series of laws, cultures, and desires. The stories just write themselves.
Yeah, the animals of all species evolve and become intelligent, even though a few non evolved animals were somehow untouched.
@@Disneyfan82 Well, if you really wanted to go existential, you could turn that into a plotpoint. It'd be an interesting religious and scientific angle.
Absolutely savage this show deserves a reboot just to show the kids what a real cartoon is
It could work because animation started taking itself a lot more seriously towards the end of the 90s
@@alchemistofsteel8099 Western genre needs more love, now hoping that Red Dead Redemption II helped on that.
I've asked so many people if they remember this show and I've yet to get a yes lol
well, you find me
Does if count if they've only seen the show this month?
Funny enough I'm from Brazil and remember this cartoon very well. Watched it every morning when I was a kid 😂
Saturday mornings with a bowl of my favorite cereal. Trying to eat and sing this at the same time. Damn good times.
SAME!
I always forget just how goddamn good this intro is.
Never was a huge fan of the show, but I love the intro
One of the bloody coolest theme songs in the west.
Intro had no business going that hard. I think I was like 12 when it first aired and it's still great to me to this very day.
What a BANGER theme song!! I loved this show as a child. It brings back good memories of my grandparents fixing me breakfast in their warm, cozy house before they took me to preschool or kindergarten, watching this show. That was what, almost 30 years ago??
Also, isn't it wild how we are able to remember songs for our entire life? I haven't heard this song in decades, and while I didn't remember all the words, I remembered most of them.
Nor have I. For some reason… FOR YEARS, I swore I dreamt of seeing this intro as a kid and thought it was nothing else and only saw TV ads for this show. Until I saw a Nostalgia Critic episode discussing this show and heard bits and pieces of the intro and… welp, here I am.
This song and video gives me nostalgia of when I watched this every Saturday morning as a kid in the 90's
this was on abc tv on Saturday am in the 90's.
i love the intro.
so cool.
Yep I remember waking up on Saturdays to watch this.
Billy Dean has has a great voice for this and other songs. It’s a shame he hasn’t been a bigger star than he is
I thought that was Billy Dean singing!
Billy Dean was a great singer, I wonder why he never became a superstar.
Rickey Layman at the time the world couldn't handle his magnificent mullet.
He did to me. He did...to me. 😆
He didn’t take the blood oath
He had some pretty big hits back in the late 80s/early 90s but he also had to compete with the big guns of country music like Reba, Garth Brooks, The Judds, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn and so many others. The 90s was packed with great country artists and, alas, Billy Dean just never stood out from the pack enough. However, I’ll always remember his songs, particularly “Billy the Kid”.
MARSHALL MOO MONTANA!!!! OH HECK YES!!!!
I know I love MARSHALL MOO MONTANA, DAKOTA, AND THE COLORADO KID!!!!
I imagine this is what a Rifleman cartoon would have been like if they decided to replace Lucas McCain's rifle with a star shooter and toned down the violence. I mean, Marc McCain & Cody are practically the same character.
This theme has been stuck in my head for hours.
Try decades, brah.
First broadcast on September 12, 1992, the television series ran for two seasons. Spanning 26 episodes, before the show was canceled on May 26, 1994 with Disney's acquisition of ABC. The series was then broadcast on Toon Disney from April of 1998 to April of 2001.
First Country Song I Eva learn
Moo's horse's name is "Cyclone, Dakota's horse's name is "Rebel, and Cowlorado's horse's name is "Jezebel"
Odd names... but so cool.
Oh hey, it's just a high effort song from a show most people never heard of
EHW2 Right? One of the finest theme songs in TV history, from a really forgettable show that only even made it to air to sell a line of equally forgettable toys. Theme song had more class than any of it deserved.
@@MidnightSwinger Then the theme did it's job right
See also "The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers"
I remember back in the early 90's, this show was among the Disney shows aired on Saturday mornings on ABC. It was usually the last show aired before a football game or something back then.
You know, I was hoping to relive this moment of my childhood.
Love the memories.
80's-late 00's had some of the best and catchiest theme songs for cartoons......also am i the only one who wouldn't mind seeing a modern cowboy style cartoon?
Look no further than Long Gone Gulch for a modern western show. It's only got the pilot episode done so far, but it is really good. The villain design is reminiscent of Moo Mesa.
Oh man! I haven't seen this show in ages!
Thank man I was able to see my childhood again and dude sung the hell out the intro!
I remembered seeing that show when i was in kindergarten
Here I am, after finding what I guess are two of the three main characters figures, longing for a show from 30 years ago
The series focuses on trying to keep justice in the frontier territory. The lawbreakers were too much for the corrupt regulators of Cowtown (namely Mayor Oscar Bulloney and Sheriff Terrorbull) to handle by themselves. Helping them out, whether they wanted it or not, we’re a group of peacekeepers known as the C.O.W.-Boys (the C.O.W. part is short for “Code of the West”) led by Marshal Moo Montana, the C.O.W.-Boys also included The Dakota Dude and the Cowlorado Kid. Marshal Moo Montana and his deputies had their hands full with several ruffians and outlaw gangs that plagued the otherwise peaceful town.
Damn I used to love this show XD
Yep.
Hell yeah, Billy Dean with the intro!
Why didn’t I know about this when I was a kid?! I love westerns!
Great cartoon to watch growing up. It went off the air when i was like 3 but my parents one year at the NFR found a bunch of videos of it and my siblings and i were lucky enough to watch it all through our childhoods
Dear lord the nostalgia just hit me harder than a raging bull named Dakota dude
"There's a comet at the beggining, crashes on the earth,FUCKING COWS"
gonzalo torchia it is related to the ninja turtles so maybe the comet had ooze in it.
When my brothers and I started watching this, for some reason I compared this series to biker mice from mars due to its protagonists being similar
I loved biker mice of Mars. The fat villain used to scare me
Christopher Millian yes that’s the difference but I meant as in personality and combat skills. You can tell which ones are similar
@@andrewkang7157 there color schemes are similar too. Each characters fur color, and role they play in the group
@@Getwright- there is that yes. You can definitely tell which protagonist is equivalent to whom
What about Street Sharks?
Classic. This cartoon reached the shores here in South Africa.
THIS SHOW BRINGS BACK MY CHILD HOOD MEMORIES
Holy crap! I remember this show from when I was a toddler! To think after 20 years it appears before me here on RUclips. What a coincidence.
R i.P. will always think of you when i hear this Intro ❤😢❤

Saturday morning cartoons man that was life. I don't know why I still remember all those themes when looking back most of the cartoons were not even around that long.
They had really memorable opening themes back then.
i like this cartoon
SI NO FUERA POR EL CANAL DE TA TE TI NO TE HUBIERA CONOCIDO ¡QUE BUEN INTRO!
There were a lot of Ninja Turtle clones out there in the 80s and 90s but this definitely had the best theme song of the bunch, with mummies alive at a close second.
I've never heard that intro song until now! I'm so used to the song that played in the commercials for the toys, which was also used in the arcade game's intro.
More people should watch this show. It's awesome! And the theme song is so nostalgic.
Welcome back Moo Mesa thanks Nacelle
OMG I totally remember that show. I found it funny cows riding on horses this the clever play on the word cowboy.
Giving this show a country theme is 👌
So basically, centuries after an asteroid impact wiped out mankind, humanoid beast men now rule a post apocalyptic wasteland. So technically Greenland was a prequel/reboot of C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa...wow.
I thought it was a comet raised a mesa isolated from the rest of the world so nobody knew of their existence
I hate to kill the mood bruh, but if a giant rock hit the ground hard enough to actually raise up a Mesa through the Earth's crust then it would probably be essentially the KT Extinction 2: KT Harder.
i love the blue angry large moo.
he is my man
I remember getting a toy with a Wendy's kid's meal a long time ago... still can't find it, but It's good to know where the idea came from.
Parabens! Lembrei da infancia nos anos 90. Quem é BR e ta assisindo?
Opa eh nois cara sou Br também e curto pra caramba o desenho
Don't remember this show at all, I think it's the first time I heard of it, weird since just by watching the intro I know I'd have really been into it as a kid.
I hardly remember this show. I seen it a few times when it used to come on Toon Disney in 2000 and it was very rare. I considered it rare I guess because the show would come on at 2 or 3 in the morning and it was super early in the morning/very late at night so I only saw it a few times.
I always loved that star-shooter gun!!

Probably 'razed', same sound, different meaning.
This is amazing!! Thanks from brazil!! It made part of our chieldhood!!
The "cow"boys: mount horses...
The horses: "these fucking guys..."
all the lovely memories watching this
This was from Season One.
The next time my friend drops acid, I’m going to convince him this is Red Dead Redemption
There’s a level from the game Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, that makes me think of this! Thanks Nostalgia Critic!
Joe Humpston oh sly Cooper...... I miss those games. Why isn't there a new game?! I want sly back godsdamnit!
The thing I remember most is two of the characters are named after three states: Colorado and Dakota.
The marshal's name is Moo Montana, so all three are named after states.
@@TheDragonQueen18 Clever. It's been so long since I've seen this show.
I been here since they came out still watch it till this day....
I remember watching it, but don't remember anything about the actual show. I also remember playing the arcade game.
That is so cool!
I grew up watching this on sat mornings I'm 35 now
I saw this back in fall 1992 on Saturday mornings on ABC when I was in kindergarden.first season was the best.
Dak Prescott is named after Dakota from this cartoon. Tough as nails
I never grew up with this show but this song is so good
I remember this 1990s cartoon. I used to watch it when I was a tot and it was shown on RTÉ 2 in the 1990s.
I haven't watched it for a long time!
my Sunday afternoons were never complete without this
If only other western shows and movies were like this. Showing adventure and daring, and able to see the difference between good and evil. Not like the real life ones, when you get a lot of depressing and emotional events, confusion of who's right and who's wrong, and not see how badly people treated Indians in the past. The only other western show that was as good as this was Bravestarr.
I know right. I wish we got to see more western shows like this, without being too overly realistic that it becomes too upsetting to watch.
@@Disneyfan82 Yeah, this show, along with Home on the Range, Cars, BraveStarr, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Fievel Goes West, and Rango deserve better. If only people had more respect for cows and western type.
@@daniellalara3612 Western genre should have never been underrated and forgotten.
@@Disneyfan82 Yeah.
@@Disneyfan82 And I also wish cows got more love and appreciation like horses do in the western culture. I remember that one Thomas episode called “Cows”, one of the episodes from the classic series that I favor along with “Toby Had a Little Lamb” and “Henry's Forest”. I'm glad that show was able to give cows some recognition, but I wish cows were more loved and appreciated in other animated western cartoons and movies like HOTR and Moo Mesa.
SOMEONE awakened their sexuality to this show, and I just think that’s beautiful
Yes
ohhhh yes rewatching this intro makes me moooo for more... >:3 more dakota that is.. >:3
👀 I mean...
This is one awesome theme song, Easily one of my favorites!
Um verdadeiro clássico... assistia todos os dias no SBT
this show and the winnie the pooh cowboy vhs were my go to pop a vhs in and watch cartoons in 1990's
I don't even normally like anything old western
Such great song😊
Desenho inesquecível.
I remember it vividly!
Im from the Philippines and I love that cartoon years ago with action figures😁👍
Love this show and this is back when theme songs for cartoons were amazing
This Show Reminds me of The Legend of white fang 1992-1994 Watch that show and then watch cowboys of moo Mesa and you will see why.
love this theme song
It always cracked me up to see the cows riding horses.
I'm not a fan of country music...but damn this works
CLEARLY a more creative show made in the wake of Ninja Turtles' popularity.
Liam Gallups also set in their universe. moo and the gang have helped defeat shredder multiple times in the comics.
That I did not know, and am totally okay with.
Azinye Fantasy really?
they also made a cameo in the 2003 tmnt series
Cowboys of Moo Mesa deserves a reboot on Netflix like Voltron, He-Man, MLP: Friendship is Magic, and She-Ra.
Damn you nostalgia critic. I forgot how awesome this theme was
Love this theme song
I was looking for this
love the theme song
Yes Nov 1 2020 from Philippines
They named the cows Dakota, Colorado, and M . . . MARSHALL MOO?
WHY DIDN’T THEY NAME HIM MONTANA?!
I’m calling it right now. The new series will release next year
Thanks TopTenz
I miss the days when effort was put into the intros for cartoons; this was a good era.
