- Join us for a journey through the history of 'The Cow-Boys of Moo Mesa,' the beloved Western animation that tried hard to capture the hearts of viewers in the 90s.
From its roots in the iconic cowboy culture of the American West to its brief but impactful run on television, we'll explore the story of Marshall Moo Montana and the rest of the cowboys of Moo Mesa as they roamed the mesas, facing off against the likes of Sheriff Terrorbull and other foes.
Despite a wealth of merchandise and marketing, and riding the popularity of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the show unfortunately only lasted two seasons. But its legacy lives on in the memories of fans everywhere.
A story that also somehow involves Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott, join us as we take a trip down memory lane and revisit the world of Moo Mesa.

I liked Sunset Riders more; seemed like had more control options at least in the riding stages.
Real talk. I played the shit out of it @ the skating rink. LOL Probably because I figured out you could get free credits by button mashing (not a joke).

My family got into the cattle business around the time before this show aired, and I actually named one of our first bred cows we ever bought "Moomesa" because of this series. I don't have any left in the herd born from her, and I've since named more cows after Mobile Suits from "Gundam."

@@tonyjackson4078 I started with UC models. My Zaku became a feeder heifer. Sazabi is pregnant again, Jegan is close to weaning Zeta, and Jesta and her calf Nemo is a prize I'm spoiling in the stable. Mineva, who is the progenitor of all of these girls, is still nursing Qubeley.

This is so much so the best use of the "Is it Canon?" running gag, that I feel Toy Galaxy has reached it's apotheosis, soon to change, mutate if you will, into a higher, beefier form.

“Moo Mesa” has been stuck in my head since the early 90s.
I'm mildly surprised that, out of all the TMNT rip-offs, nobody went with 'Copy Cats'.

@@chadfalardeau5396 I belive the original SPC air in Japan the same year as the TMNT and is more of a comedy/spoof about self aware toons and not a 90s edge about mutation.
One of my favorites as a kid, only now watching this do I realize the implied surreal horror..
This is one of those episodes where I'm surprised it wasn't 20 minutes of Dan spasming in laughter reading out the character names

I imagine in some far off, improbable fan fiction, 30-30 from Bravestar and the Dakota Dude have an arm wrestling match constantly interrupted by bad guys and ne'erdowells from both series.

This series need more then jsut a "reboot" but a true grand comeback as well and I used to watch this show alot as a kid and even a chance to play the Arcade version as well!
Well I disagree however I do love what they made. I enjoy it more than early seasons of the TMNT

I can't believe "Geriatric Gangrene Jujitsu Gerbils" was a real thing.
Oh yeah. The totally supposed to be parody and not a ripoff of TMNT B&W comic movement of the mid 80's. Even before TMNT hit it big with the cartoon series and toyline, all the lame 10th party comic book publishers wanted a piece of the Turtles action. And like one or two were even good.

Also, this show taught me that not all cows are girls(Theres heifers and bulls) and what a Mesa was. Information i use not at all on a daily basis
This show was far more realistic and educational than "Barnyard." But they all get it wrong with having upper teeth.

I was happy they wrapped the main stories by season 2 and actually dealt with the aftermath. Was an under rated series.
Actually everyone else's stories felt unfinished after season 2 and should have released one more season to do that.

Yeah it's a shame it's tied into Konami considering what a turd they are these days. You would think considering it's been what going on 30 years we would finally get this thing but no such luck.
Although I usually love the videos just for the fun of learning, this one's subject actually has nostalgic connections for me.
My family was considerably poor, so I didn't have a large collection of toys and home media stuff in my early childhood, but for some reason I had an official VHS of the brazilian dub with a couple of episodes, one of the few official home media releases I ever owned. It had one of the strangest tape cases i have ever seen, bigger than normal and weirdly plasticky.
It probably exists around the house somewhere, but I'm not sure it hasn't deteriorated. Thank you for reminding me of one of my strangest childhood memories.

I reference this show SO MUCH. My brothers and I had the action figures, coloring books, fruit snacks, and LOVED the cartoon.
I worked at an arcade in college that had a super loud Moo Mesa machine. I had to listen to that attract mode all Summer.
I am restoring 2 arcade games. Both Konami 4-player games. Moo Mesa and TMNT. Came across this video and got pumped! TMNT was a great game but Moo Mesa is a rare gem ❤️

I don't remember much about this show other than that I once dreamed about watching it and then watched it the next morning, but I do remember that it has one of the best theme songs of any cartoon ever.

I have fond memories of watching this show on Toon Disney. At that time the only commercials they had were self promoting and the content was mostly reruns of the cartoons I usually missed because I was watching the more popular shows or it was jammed into that dreaded 5 am time slot.
The show definitely had more heart than the other TMNT knock offs and the figures were weird. The squatty poses with the bent legs, which doubled as holsters for their guns, really set them apart and I remember grabbing some while they were on clearance at a KB toys long after the show went off the air.
Another great episode Toy Galaxy crew. I'm amazed at the amount of puns jammed into this one. Thanks for the entertainment.
My local roller rink had the Cowboys of Moo Mesa Arcade Game. It was right next to the bowling themed game where you rolled quarters down to hit pin with various point values on them.

Bro! this show was my jam as a child I had the toys, multiple vhs tapes, and even the bubble bath.
I loved this show as a kid. I wanted a star caster so bad when i was 7 that I stole one of the attachments off my mom's vacuum (the flat piece) and tapped it to one of my toy cowboy pistols, 🤣.

I never saw this show on TV in America, bit I did catch it on TV in Mexico while on vacation. It was interesting how many shows were popular over there that weren't here.

I loved watching this every Saturday morning, with a chocolate milk in one hand and bag of powdered donuts in the other.

As a Texan, I'm willing to bet this would have been a hit in my neck of the woods if done back in the early 80's/late 70's for my generation.
Just discovered your channel recently but a video on the Extreme Dinosaurs would be awesome. I had a VHS of a few episodes and the one where they all caught the common cold is burned into my memory. No idea how long they went on for though. Great theme song!

Fun fact when they did Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward the Cowboys had a cameo appearance as an AI game simulation being controlled by an evil sentient computer virus. Nevermind I watched the episode to the end and you mention it. Damn you guys are good!
