Sam&Max Freelance Police was the name of the animated show and the original title for the comics if I remember correctly. Also it was supposed to be the name of the Sam&Max sequel from Lucasarts that they cancelled quite erroneously. The correct title for this video should be "Sam and Max Hit The Road intro"
For the life of me, I can't remember when or where in the game Sam says the 'Swirling miasma' line. I thought it was in the Vortex 'museum' but I can't get him to say it. Can anyone help?
The version you played was probably the floppy disk version. No voiceovers in that one, except for the intro, if I remember right. The CD-ROM had full voiceovers through the whole game.
This old 2D-style is so much better than new 3D. I hope someday adventure games returns to this style in graphics and gameplay also. I hate those episodic games.
SCUMMVM is stand-alone, so you need to buy or otherwise obtain the game and then copy the files to a directory. Run SCUMMVM and point it to that directory, it should detect the game automatically.
God, wasn't it great when Lucas Arts was famous for making great games like this instead of the worthless crap they put out now? If you ever play this again (you need SCUMMVM- look it up online) tell Sam to pick up an object that he can't over and over again. Watch the great tongue-lashing Sam gives you after about 5 times.
First of all, the cartoon series wasn't the original. There was a comic. Then this adventure game called Sam and Max Hit the Road. After that came the cartoon, and I don't think the cartoon was any comparison to this awesome game.
There's a fun little program called SCUMMVM. It brings old Lucas Art adventure games back to life, in full sound etc. Try it. Worked on our packages of Indy- Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle. Awesome! It even has graphics filters to smooth the edges of old blocky DOS graphics.
This game had some of the best writing ever piped out a tinny pair of computer speakers.

I believe he'll say it just about anywhere, it comes up if you have him talk to Max. It's under the 'duck' option!
BZZZZT! This is from "Sam and Max Hit The Road", NOT the cancelled sequel.
You can say that again. *Sigh* I miss all the 8-bit and 16-bit games. Some of the best storylines.

It's Sam and Max hit the road!
I miss games like these :(
Even the grapics were better this way
and the music of the first part reminds me of TIE Fighter.
Ehy! You find a 2021!
nusic on the last part sooooo similar to day of the tentacle(maniac mansion 2) hall music

I had a disc version.
Well, they suck for scrapping Sam and Max: Feelance Police, and they suck for scrapping Full Throttle 2.

Check out my improv. on Dino Bungee National Memorial on piano!
I always prefered this voice, maybe because I played the game before I saw the show. :)
I had did game it was brilliant but I don't remember there was voice acting in the game. Is this the re-released version for windows?

TellTale Games have made a 2007 graphics version of the original cartoon series. Hit the road was boooooring.
