I think this building could be a great residential building if done right, but I can’t imagine how much it would cost to make that happen. Hopefully something good will happen with it soon. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Would anyone really want to live there? If not I have one hell of an idea for that building... Provided they dont want to crazy of a price for it... I'll have to see how much they want for it....
The cost would be astronomical. Im in construction and just with the little I know, it is almost always cheaper to demolish a place rather than try and refurbish a structure as massive as this one.
It's a trip seeing how the building looks on the inside now. I worked there for 4 years during the late 70's and early 80's as a loan officer for the Small Business Adm. The office was located on the17th floor. There were 3 fire drills that I recall, where everyone in the building had to vacate it by going down the stairs. I was always glad we weren't located higher than the 17th floor.
Plenty of buildings that are designated historic sit in ruins--some because the historic status makes them even more expensive to renovate or otherwise bring back to life.
This building has always intrigued me. Thanks for the tour inside. I was really looking forward to the refurbishment and Mark was hoping to be part of the construction team, but that didn’t happen. So sad that it sits to rot away. 🥺Jenn
Is all that white stuff the asbestos? If so it’s disturbing to me how quickly it spread around the building. Also another thing to add, I think there was like an antenna at the top of the building or a radio station that was knocked over by Katrina.
@@NOLADEEJ New Orleans is sad state of affairs but hey if you’re looking for a vehicle or trade in a vehicle, come visit me at crown Buick GMC in Metairie.
I have two pictures in my house of the skyline of New Orleans both shot at different points of view and this building was occupied at both times with the lights on, on different floors.
The office at 5:10 was called the control room. I remember those two gauges on the wall. I occupied it for a month or so in the eighties, as a guest on then owner Moey Segal. I worked part time at l'Agnappe; the fancy cafeteria adjacent to the lobby. My dad was in charge of the a/c unit on the top floors. Come to think of it, I still owe Mr Segal 50$...
Yep- that’s a big nuh-uh from me 😂 you guys are awesome and brave! I really enjoyed the Vlog and found myself holding my breath at times. Great job Deej ❤ another great Vlog on the books
The Plaza Tower always had a place in the New Orleans skyline. It was my favorite building when i was a kid because it looked like a really tall airport control tower. It's basically a historical landmark. I can't believe the condition it's in now, sad. 😢 I'd love to see it completely restored. I bet one of the big casino companies could do wonders to that building. Turn it into a hotel and casino with a 5 star restaurant at the top overlooking the city.
How do you prepare for excursions like this with regard to personal safety? Do you carry a first aid kit and/or other protection? What's your plan if someone is physically injured and immobilized?
I remember going in here (and the world trade center, and pallas hotel) years and years ago, even when they were functional buildings, both before and after K.Thanks for the thoughtful camera angles & shots composition.

That Buildings contribution to the world will be as part of a levy or an artificial reef. its long since over for that staggering liability.

Oh wow!!
It’s really sad how Louisiana’s government refuses to designate places like these as historic buildings in order to preserve them
I think it was considered at one point

Exactly @@tHebUm18
I’ve always loved that building. I wish it would get renovated instead of torn down.
Its a shame that buildings like this are just left to deteriorate to the point that it would cost too much to try to do anything with them.
Yeah, I still have hope though!
One of the most interesting and scary explorers to say the lease.
Absolutely!
I was last in the bldg in 2001 when it still had some tenants. Wonder how much asbestos I breathed in on my regular visits.
Oh wow!!
I have leave right out of New Orleans all my life. The state of that building is a shame. It has been a landmark all my life.

Yeah it’s crazy! Hopefully something will be done with it soon, surely there’s still potential for it.
My Dad worked in this building in the 80's
Thanks for explaining the history of the building! This site is awesome. Very sketchy too :O
When I first saw it in 2009 I thought it was a airport tower, though when I got to the area where it was I never figured out what it was till NOW!
Oh I can see that!
What a waste. I can't believe a bldg was let go like that.
so awesome
Thanks so much!
I like exploration in empty buildings. This one is very high. I like this video 👍
Pretty damn cool artwork in there
Definitely!!
Once so striking, now so sad. 🌃
Yeah, would love to see something done with it properly
I'm used to being in these types of places. Will be an upgrade from an abondoned gas station in Portland.
I love it!

I believe all the asbestos was removed
Is the lower level and garage still flooded out?
Yeah I believe so

There have been talks… lol but so far nothing. I think it’s up for sale again
Dont get caught by any tower soldiers they might alert mama
THE TOWER WILL ALWAYS STAND -Mama
Loll came here for this
Hey man! do you know if it is hard to get into the plaza tower, me and some friends like to check out abandoned places was just wondering.. Thanks.
Hey Deej ❤
I have two pictures in my house of the skyline of New Orleans both shot at different points of view and this building was occupied at both times with the lights on, on different floors.
That’s awesome!
Why didn't you go to the top????
We wanted to believe me
🤔 Drop the price !
That’s One Shell Square
No, you’re thinking of a different building on Poydras. This is not and never was One Shell Square
Why in the world has this building not been secured many years ago? Inexcusable
It’s secured now

Good spot for apartments or even a hotel. If demolished, make a green space. You must be a professional explorer.

I was sad to see there's two layers of really tall fencing around this site now. Thanks for catching it while you could.
Wild to me looking at Google Maps to see another tower across the street also appears abandoned.
I believe it’s being worked on

Even for as boogie as New Orleans is id think that would be torn down by now. Especially with the proximity to MB stadium
They’ve discussed it but it’s not easily done
It’s a shame it’s such an iconic building for Nola’s skyline I wish they would figure it out like they doing with charity.
Me too
So that is why the whole inside is gutted, they were in the process of redevelopment only to halt it.
yeah i believe they ran out of money during the process
Looking at it rn as I watch this
Was this building explored before it was gutted?
Not sure
Nice new image at the channel name.
