Ah yes, the memories. All three closing themes brings back fond memories at the caretakers house preparing supper. The first theme was straight digitized; the second, my favorite, one adds synthesized strings; the third one has synthesized horns playing in a call and response format. Later on, I made a mixtape of the second and third closing themes, and played it at a house party in college.

Maybe it's because of blind nostalgia but I prefer the last one over the early and mid 80's arraignments but I see an evolution between the 3 openings especially between the last 2.
I wonder if Jack Cortner the man who composed and wrote "The World Turns On and On" ever played this live at any of his concerts? We know the closing theme is looped I wonder what the original extended cuts sounded like? I love all three versions especially the synthesized 3rd theme with the electronic sounding drums at the end of the drum intro and the end of the verses! I also like the different cymbol track! I don't know why he doesn't put all of the themes on CD!

The Talk has been able to make money on a budget less than ATWT. CBS could not afford to have ATWT or GL anymore. Be grateful they ran as long as they did.
Hold the phone I actually like The Price Is Right even now with Drew Carey once he got settle further into his hosting role where now he's less cringe-worthy humor and more proper-host funny.
this really is such an earworm. It never should have been changed.

My favorite ATWT Opening Theme, I like the 1984-1988 version.
Good one Aaron.
Gosh I thought I was the only one who was haunted by this....
They're the same song "The World Turns On and On" but all three are very different arrangements.

Yes, the simple "sci-fi" original, then the souped-up dramatic sci-fi 2nd version, and the 3rd (which I cannot tell from #2).
The 1988-1993 is the best of the three
1981 must've been the year that computer graphic imagery came into place for all of the Procter and Gamble Soap Operas.
The edge of night started it in 1980.
@@jmjfanss ABC's the Edge of Night was the first daytime soap to use computer graphic imagery?
@@25FADIII yes

They are actually all very different. I actually think the 1st one (81-84) is my favorite, but they're all great.
1988-1993 version of the theme sounds a lot like something from a James Bond movie

Remember Dan Region?
Classic.
yes lawd! part of my childhood
I miss The Guiding Light, and As The World Turns. The Talk is terrible, and those idiot game shows as well.
+Ronald Fetty, really! Let's Make a Deal with Wayne Brady is a hit on CBS & The Talk is a hit also.
ATWT is losing money, and that is why it was brought to an end.

@snowpeck I was wondering if you can make all three 1981-1993 versions separately?
Why?
So I can see what they look like separately.
@radiodj1520
Do you have the video of the first new opening from november 1981.
@Chicago10281
or Don McCullough.
Can you copy the three 1981-1993 versions separately.
