His trajectory is the complete opposite of people like Angelo Esposito or Pavel Brendl that regressed as they got older. Levi was playing Junior A hockey for Carleton Place Canadiens a team I have NEVER heard of before in a league I have NEVER heard of before. I lived in Barrie from 95 to 05. As a kid my family had half season Tickets for the Colts. Tkachuk was a great captain and leader, showed a lot of class in the community. It was always sad that it didn’t work out in the NHL for him. Also from being an OG Colt, as a fan I wish he was on the 2000 Colts OHL champion team. It seems like a few of the 90s Colts era super stars never worked out in the NHL as players , such as Brian Finley, Sheldon Keefe and Alexandre Volchkov (I remember people bidding crazy numbers on his warm up jersey at a charity auction). I did go to high school with Bryan Little, but that was a different era of Colts hockey.

    Another one of the failures by Bobby Clarke as GM of the Flyers. Giving away Eric Lindros to the Rangers for basically nothing. Jan Hlavac, Pavel Brendl and Kim Johnsson were barely there long enough for a Zamboni to resurface the ice. None of them made significant contributions to the team.

    • @Wezi427
      @Wezi427 2 года назад

      I love the Big E, but Kim Johnsson had a very respectable career. Considering that he was the last player taken in his draft year and played over 700 NHL games. Hlavac was a selfish player and was gone within his first season. Brendl🙄, dud.
      Also Lindros wasn't ever going to play for the Flyers again and his injury history was hard to overlook. If you remember he had select teams that he was willing to be traded to, Toronto being his main choice. That limited Clarkes position. I wish they did get a better return. I don't know what other teams were offering, but maybe this was the best offer they had.
      Another thing to consider with the Flyers and Eric lindros is if they never made that trade and kept what they had.

    I remember the Pogge incident very well. Not only am I leafs fans, I wasn't instantly enamored by the fact that pogge was canadian and on the winning team at the juniors that year like most other leafs enthusiasts. What blew me away was Tuuka Rask on a highly then underskilled finland team that year that he was single handidly keeping the games close by like making 50 or whatever saves a game. I was super pissed when they traded him and Dougie Hamilton to Boston. And i've never stopped being pissed since about it. It's kind of where I started to lose interest in avidly following every game once Pogge started to show as a bust and I knew we had already had the answer for a goaltender and willingly traded it away. I don't like to take the armchair profressional stance much cause it is pretty pretentious. But that is one situation where my feelings on it were absolutely right, and I was mad to be right about it.

    How about Bryan Fogarty? Arguably the most talented player ever lived. That is what junior hockey coordinator said: "From the time he put skates on, he was better than everyone else. We had seen Wayne Gretzky. Wayne had to work at it. His game was outsmarting everybody else. Fogarty's game was outperforming everybody else. That's like comparing a Volkswagen to a Corvette."

    Nic Petan: In his last three seasons with the Portland Winterhawks, 322 points in 188 games. At the 2015 World Juniors, 4 goals and 7 assists for 11 points, tied for the tournament lead with Sam Reinhart and some kid named Connor McDavid. I remember being thrilled when the Jets got him 43rd overall in the 2013 draft (he had 120 points in 71 games with Portland that year). A solid point per game guy first with the Manitoba Moose and now with the Toronto Marlies, but, for some reason, he can't seem to have any meaningful impact in the NHL. Still only 25 years old, but the writing seems to be on the wall. Check out his highlight reel from the 2015 World Juniors. Looked very promising: ruclips.net/video/EmMViaQyg1c/видео.html

    *So what have we learned? More than likely, if you are a forward, who puts up 6 goals and 10 points, in 6/7 games at the WJC, you'll be a flop at the next level. Same with 85% of power forwards. Boggles me, why teams still draft them soo high, while guys like Point, Gaudreau, Debrincat etc, get considered as steals, when its just lack of intelligence for draft choices. Size never copes for overall skill...it especially does not for a smaller player who has the drive to want it more.*
