- In Febuary of 2014 Nintendo and Intelligent systems, released what I consider to be an absolute work of art! Fire Emblem Awakening for the 3DS... now the main focus of the game is combat, however I have delved an unbelievable amount of time into the "Support Conversations" and the marriages after seeing most of them I decided to post what I consider to be my TOP 10 "relationships" that probably happened.

PlatinumHeart Lon'Qu and Cordelia row my boat. And Olivia with Virion make way more understandable Inigo's personality. Though I hate Virion and I'd only marry him to a pointy stake.
***** But if I recall correctly, in Inigo's and Olivia's supports, he tells her she (the future Olivia) was told by a friend that he got over his fear by talking to women. Who could this be? Probably Lon'qu. But yeah, Cordelia's my alternative to Olivia for Lon'qu.
PlatinumHeart I paired Lon'qu with Tharja on my first run and Lissa on my second. I definitely preferred him with Tharja, but Lissa seems more canon.
RoboticLlamaGaming I don't understand why Lissa/Lon'qu is so popular. I know it's a cute support leading up to it, but honestly, I feel like certain characters match up better with them. I much prefer Lissa being with Frederick, and obviously I'm a fan of Lon'qu/Olivia. Of course, my favorite couple would definitely be Miriel/Libra, or perhaps Cherche/Stahl.

Lon'qu and Panne are my favorite. Their personalities match up really well, and they're way overpowered when they fight side by side. Also, Yarne just seems like the right fit for Lon'qu's offspring.
Lon'qu and Panne make so much sense to me, and they are amazing on the battlefield when paired. And then of course RobinxChrom are perfect, sorry Sumia.

@@thepinkrubberducky Chrom gets with the female (who isn't Lissa) who he has the most support points (or however it works) with. If Chrom stays at the back while paired up with a male, or just so happens to never to be next to any females while attacking or defending, Chrom marries some unknown village girl. You probably just gave him the chance to build some support with Sumia without remembering.

Can I just say that I'm really happy that Owain is not the strategist of this army? 'Cause I really am. That is a flat out horrible plan! Why would you watch your comrades be defeated in battle and possibly die, just so you can feel like a hero? So are you watching the battle, swinging your sword at the air and waiting for your mother or sibling to become unarmed by an an enemy soldier and almost die, then take action? What if you arrive too late? What happens then?

Personal canonical relationships (mothers only, no Chrom or Sumia) based on support love and kid personality.
StahlXCordelia- it makes sense why Severa is inferior to her mom, plus I like the support. Not the best, but I like it.
Lon'quXCherche- Best lon'qu ship HANDS DOWN. Plus Gerome makes a lot of sense.
GaiusXNowi- Nah and father convos make the most sense as Gaius married Nowi for little reason.
MirielXANYONE- Laurent is just Miriel 2, anyone can be her hubby.
LissaXMMU- Owain loves his exalt AND his fell dragon blood, plus Chrom be MAAAD
OliviaXHenry- Support is LOVELY especially the Japanese one. Plus Inigo gets the eternal smile, hidden badassery, etc.

it's honestly scary to me that all of these I did on my first time. because fuck yeah, Cherche by far is amazingly the best for Lon'qu just because the whole "loves to sew"
I paired Henry and Olivia too! I was AMAZED to see how Henry is as a father, and it was incredible to witness.

I feel Gaius x Maribelle is best for both because of their history together.

Olivia x Henry all the way. I feel Inigos smile is like a dead giveaway that Henry is the father.
There are actually specific pairs in game who rank up in their Support conversations faster with each other than either character with any other units, and guess what Olivia and Henry are one such pair, just like Chrom and Sumia.
Oliva and Henry were paired together in my first blind play through. (Therefore making them one of my canon Awakening pairs.)

Um Female Avatar and Chrom is a way better ship than chrom and sumia, it adds so much more to the game emotionally. Sumia is only here because of the intro not anything else.
Well, if you have a male avatar, for the sake of being the most canonical, Sumia makes the most sense out of all of Chrom's options. He also did say he wasn’t going to repeat characters and he already used male Robin.

In Awakening you have what I call 'Casual Shipping' and then there is what I call 'Optimal Genetics'. Back in the day I memorized the best possible pairing for every character in the game in order to make them as broken as possible for a Lunatic + run. Unfortunately the best pairs statistically aren't always so appealing for those actually interested in the character relationships. Since my character was almost always male I was never interested in Robin x Chrom in anything other than as platonic lifelong friends. However, I do not agree at all with this video's portrayal of Cordelia. It is obvious that he didn't put much effort into actually researching most of the support conversations in the game. He even admits as much in a later video. Cordelia and Robin have a very nice dynamic and Severa might be a bit bratty but she has a good heart. Plus my absolute favorite series of support conversations in the game between Female Morgan and Owain didn't get a single mention. Several of my first play through relationships, aka my 'canon' ones, were on this list but some of them just didn't sit right with me at all.

Donnel cripples Inigo to a point where it would be better to use no unit.
winnelle what are you talking about ? Donnel is one of the -if not THE- best unit of the entire game if you train him. It makes any of his child incredibly strong, especially if they get Donnel's skill (Aptitude)
Although that might seem like it, Donnel actually gives Inigo no useful classes, hence no useful skills. Skills most of the time are the defining feature of an unit, so it's crucial to have good skills. Second, aptitude isn't a good skill. Donnel does give Inigo the villager class, which is useless and terrible. Aptitude is only useful for the first half of the game, and can help a unit max out faster, which doesn't really help on child units, who are already strong if you trained the parents before recruiting the children. So sadly, so ell isn't a good father for Inigo. I would suggest Libra, Chrom or Henry for Inigo, those are the best parents for him.
But, still on the topic of Donnel, he is a great, no, outstanding parent (excluding Inigo), especially for Noire, Kjelle, and Nah. Donnel, along with Gauis, have the option to reclass into a warrior, a male only class. And when a male parent passes down a class that's Male only to a Female child, then the child gets the female only class, the Pegasus Knight class. The Pegasus knight class line gives the unit the ability to Galeforce, the best skill in the game (or one of the best.). This is especially good for Noire, Kjelle, and Nah, who can't get Pegasus knight class on their own. I would say give Donnel to Nowi, and get a Galeforce nah Give Gauis to Tharja, get a Galeforce Noire. and for Sully, you could swap out Donnel for Vaike and have him father Nah, or have Vaike father Kjelle.
ok so I'm done rambling, I just really enjoy optimizing child units. but As long as you're having fun, any pairing could semi work out. :)
Actually learned a lot from your "rambling", so I dont really mind! I Did not think at all about the classes the parents can give to the childs. I probably thought Aptitude was good because you can use it to cap stats faster, like you said.
But hey, I'm not really knowledgeable in Fire Emblem, actually Awakening was my first game in the series. ._.' The last playthrough I had I made Olivia and a couple other get Galeforce, simply because of...well, can't deny, it really is great.
I didn't actually know marriage was a thing so I accidentally got married to Lissa and I regret all of my life choices up to then

I must say , Frederick and Panne are a adorable pair.
Both have a rather cold demeanor but they really warm up to one another and the way how they do it is something very heartwarming.
The B and A supports are two of the entire game for me.
Maybe it's just because I'm a Stahl fangirl,but I think it's possible Stahl might be canon with fmu, only because the male Morgan seems more like his child than any of the others. Also because he is adorable.

guitar242465 They CAN be cousins, but they don't have to be. It's probably because the writers didn't want to make another set of supports for if they are related, so they allowed them to get married.
(Although if I remember correctly, you can also have Owain and Lucina get married. I don't even know anymore.)

There might be a few more special cases, really just depends on who in the 1st generation gets hitched to whom-the fact that the Avatar is a pimp and gets two kids in some cases doesn't help that.
Well, at least they didn't go so far as to have the Avatar's kids be able to marry.
...Morgan can marry. I definitely remember pairing female!Morgan up with Inigo once. Though a funny afterthought is that in one reality, Lucina is married to Morgan whilst in another reality Morgan is her daughter. Different genders, but hey.
Yeah, true. I meant that at least Nintendo set it so that Morgan can't marry anyone who is their sibling in that playthrough.

I love Lucina X Laurent, the s-support is so amazing not funny but just right, the difficulty of loving someone but you feel like your not fit for them since they are royal blood and you just common.
Yeah I’m SERIOUSLY considering pairing these two up in my own playthrough. Also, since I made Frederick Laurent’s father, this marriage would make both him and Chrom in-laws. Something I’m sure our favorite retainer would jump for joy over.

Honestly, I ship Henry and Olivia quite hard as well. Mainly with how their child is described in the end credits, "Henry settled down with Olivia and turned out to be a surprisingly good father. Their newborn son inherited both his father's grin and his mother's undying love for entertaining others." It literally describes Inigo perfectly.
And if you've played Fates, Laslow (Inigo) can marry someone similar to Henry being Peri. And how he handles Peri seems to point to him being quite being familiar in dealing with psychopaths but the smoking gun line that points to in my opinion Henry being the father is; "Cry all you want. It's OK. Your mother lives in you, even now." and to me this is reminiscent of Henry's conversation with Inigo in Future Past 2 "Half of Olivia and half of me still live on inside you. We'll always be close, as long as you take care of yourself and stay alive." Which would be the beginning part, and It appears that lesson seemed to stick with Laslow/Inigo not only passing it onto his potential wife Peri but ALSO his daughter Soleil.
I really love Maribelles supports with Henry. I thought it would have Maribelle grossed out with his... Henryness but it's actually about Maribelle just accepting him for his oddities plain and simple. At the end of their B-support she tells Henry "you have the strangest way of putting people's minds at ease" and I believe that's what I love the most about it. It's a strange, but genuine relationship, and in the (adorable) S-support Maribelle gives Henry a reason to not so easily throw his life out, because she'd be genuinely devastated if he did.
Your Owain and Cynthia support chats had me in tears of laughter. Subscribed :D

I haven't seen all of Lon'qu supports, but he and Cherche are my favourite. For more than good reason.
That is a very good one(! It's a toss up between him and Panne's)... the fact that she aliveates his guilt by delivering a message and we get to hear why he's gynophobic.
Yeah! And I also agree with Panne, both had a traumatizing past and stay away from either species, or gender of those that caused them.
I also like Olivia's, since they share shyness too and both look up at Balisio.

Honestly I would have put Severa x Owain on the canon list, since in their supports you find out that Severa had carved Owain's name into her sword years ago and has been in love with him for a really long time.

Personally I think Lonqu is better with Olivia. They are both from the Ferox and they have trouble communicating. Good pair if you ask me

There's one little problem with numbers 1 and 2: You can't have both in the same playthrough without making things weird.

Yeah, yeah, I know in Japan that's not as much of a taboo as in the West (although, make no mistake, it's still considered highly unusual), but that doesn't really fly here.

I like her with Stahl, which is who I went with for her. I kind of randomly paired them up, because I paired my other top options for her with other people... But they ended up being really cute together. She doesn't mope about Chrom with Stahl; in fact, she's surprised he knew.
I know that pairing, its ok really. Just hate her with the avatar.

Actually, Henry want a horrible, bloody, painLESS death... because he "doesn't like ouchies"... And my personnal favorite wife/husband for the Avatar are Aversa and Gangrel. Because evil villains who decide to redeem themselves are always awesome IMO. Yes, there's also Walhart, but Gangrel is cuter and is nicer to Morgan than Walhart is in their supports... And, come on, in her confession, Aversa give the avatar a facefull of boobs, what guy wouldn't want that? XD

I think you are really funny but some feedback. I want to see you grow as you have lots of potential.
1. Make the intro shorter. It got a bit tedious. It was funny nonetheless but, people would rather you get to the list.
2. Audio. It was shaky and it didn't sound very good. Just get better equipment.
3. Video. The video quality was bad. Get a better camera

For Cordelia I paired her up with Gaius.
For one: the two are TOTAL MONSTERS when paired together on the battlefield! No joke the first time I teamed them up together they performed a four hit combo on an enemy!
Second: I legit loved their conversations together. Cordelia was already acting like a fussy wife to him as far back as their C support, Gaius giving her that ribbon and all the times she got flustered whenever he sweet talked her made me think their was a lot of pint up attraction between the two.

Vaike x Maribelle - The peasant and the princess. (Makes Brady make so much sense.)
Libra x Lissa - The boy who looks like a girl, the girl who acts like a boy. (Also they never fucking die if they're both War Clerics. ALSO also, it gives Owain his "canon" hair color from his official art.)
Stahl x Panne - This is the only convo that really tries to integrate panne into human society while treating her somewhat normally, I just think it's sweet.

I agree with most of these,though I think Gaius/Cordelia seems to pair up well, she dotes on him very willingly.
Though I do agree that Male Robin/Lucina seems rather canon, I will say if I had known about Emmeryn, I would have likely paired them up, as he seems genuinely interested in really putting his life into her.

1) Chrom x Robin - MY BABIES I LOVE THIS PAIR SO MUCH
2) Frederick x Sumia - they're really cute together and in my playthroughs they decimated EVERYTHING
3) Male Morgan x Nah - the way Morgan went so far to do something nice for nah is just so adorable
4) Owain x Cynthia - they can discover how to be heroes TOGETHER
5) Gaius x Olivia - it really felt like Olivia opened up around Gaius and he cared about her opinions more than anyone else's. A pretty _sweet_ couple
6) Lucina x Inigo - luci was finally able to let go a little thanks to him! (Albeit, in a very strange way but oh well)
7) Cordelia x Stahl - not the most exciting supports but it was well cute

I've been looking for someone to mention Morgan x Owain. Definitely one of my favorite supports. Sumia and Gaius are okay but since I was playing through hardcore Lunatic most of the time I found that he genes were better spent elsewhere XD. Chrom and Sumia worked better for efficiency sake during my time of trial since they are the best secondary options for each other stat-wise instead of Olivia and Gaius.
I was always a fan of The Avatar and Mireal ship. Plus that morgan just feels like the real morgan.
No, the real Morgan is my adorable redhead daughter with Cordelia. (I'm half-joking but I actually feel very strongly about the Cordelia x Robin ship since they were my first family. This video's analysis of both Cordelia and Severa are very swallow and I'm angry about it.)

For me Frederick/Miriel is one of my top 3 Awakening OTPs.
It is literally Miriel’s best romantic support and the only one where she doesn’t subject her spouse to any crazy experiments. Also Frederick is the only one she says ‘I love you’ to.
I like Male Morgan x Kjelle because the support conversations are hilarious. It's even funnier if Chrom is Morgan's father because Chrom walks in on F. Robin naked, and M. Morgan does the same thing with Kjelle. As popular as Chrom x F. Robin is, it's even funnier if you don't pair them since Lucina will think that Chrom is cheating on his wife with Robin, and is surprised that that's not the case.
