Here's a tip, if i'm going to be carrying it alot I screw the bottom on to a monopod. It keeps it relatively light and mobile if you wanna make a move but you save alot of energy by just propping it up.
I was following my wife with the Mavic Air all the time coz i have a broken bone in my foot...She nailed the RONIN-S like a boss and also she was able to hold it in flashlight mode more than i expected 😂🤪🤪😅😍😍

Great insights. Thansk! I just got mine and you helped figuring out some questions I had. A quesation: how do you transport it from one location to another? Like when travelling i dont want to assamble it again all the time but take itwith me during theday like i am with a gorillapod. So how do yo do this?
Thanks for the support. I actually disassemble the battery grip and pu it in my Manfrotto Manhattan Mover 50 backpack that i especially designed customizing the compartments in it.😅 If i have some run and gun situation i leave the whole setup assembled in the trunk of my car
Cool. Thx. Maybe you could show your backpack and car setup as well. Speaking of the car. Arent you scared of just leaving the gimball part unfixed, on the seat?
I don't own the Crane 2...so it's difficult to make a comparison. There are different type of users that will like or dislike some of the functions, weight etc... He doesn't mention that the actual stronger motors allows you to use the Ronin S in a car mount, filming fast scenes in high winds etc...(i am glad to have this reserve of power). For me motor strenght is the key feature on why i woulg go for the Ronin-S :-)
I'm having trouble getting mine into under-slung mode. I have a Sony A7 III, but, with the vertical battery grip. You went really fast, but, what I saw is you press the trigger to lock the camera, pivot the handle one direction while rotating down in the other direction? Mine hits and collapses every time I try that.
Hmmm..i know what are you talking about. Now with my A7 III also seems difficult. I just slide it from the front side. Once to go to the flashlight mode and than slide down to get to the underslung mode.
I love your video! I was wondering if you knew how to make a vertical barrel roll? Infinity mode but pointing towards the sky instead of horizontal? Is there a vertical flashlight mode? For 360° for top of buildings or sky... Thank you so much in advance!
ORBIT shot. Walking around a person with them always centred (As you're doing with your drone in this video). Maybe you can advise on the exact settings on the Ronin S gimbal to do this?
Hey mate. To make an orbit shot there is no exact setting. Leaving it on the first setting number and moving your legs instead of your hands to center the object. You wil have to practice for that because on first it's for sure tricky. You just have to move your body around to center the object. Sudden moves with your hands and you will have the unnatural digial stabilization. Putting down the sensitivity to the pan axis will help to smoothen it out. Than in post apply a Warp stabilizer effect. You actually gave me an idea for a tutorial =)
@@MAUROSFILMS Hi Mauro. OK cool. Yes, I'm struggling with "Settings" on the gimbal for specific shots (And body or arm movements). If you look around RUclips no one is explaining these things. So maybe thats a whole new group of tutorials for you? So things like the Orbit shot above, then 2) I want to lock the camera pointing at a persons face, move down their body but have the camera always pointing at the persons face (then move the gimbal back up). 3) Someones standing in the middle or a room, I start by facing them in front of them on the far left, walk towards them perpendicular, then past them to the far right. How do I keep the gimbal always pointing towards them so they are always centre framed in the camera? None of these are done using the joystick, nor any type of "Tracking" functions that are found on a drone (But not on a gimbal). See what I'm getting at? Cheers pal.
@@BassPlayerAvailable I completly understand what are you talking about...these kind of shot's at least for now aren't possible like an tracking drone function. They are all done manually after a lot of experience and practice....you have to repeat them a couple of times to get them perfect....
@@MAUROSFILMS Hey. yeah cool. I'm not really on about tracking functions though as I was well aware the Ronin S cant do this when I bought it. In these types of "Shots you can achieve with your Gimbal" videos no one is saying things like "You need to disable smooth track, increase pan to your movement speed (I like to use xxx speed), move with your body, not your arms" etc etc. All anyone is doing is saying "Here is a shot you can do, just walk in circles around someone" which is not explaining the specific settings on the gimbal that help achieve a specific shot. Get what I mean?
A couple of questions here, is there no other way to get 360' roll without the app? you absolutely need the app to use that function? and secondly does the app connect with bluetooth or do you need to connect a wire to something for it to connect?
@@MAUROSFILMS Please make a video showing how you edit the videos. Especially the transition where it fades from one into another. Something simple for beginners.
Can ANYONE tell me how to make the Ronin-S shoot in PORTRAIT/UP-AND-DOWN MODE for SOCIAL MEDIA (Insta, TikTok, etc.)? (And I don't mean selfie mode, where the camera faces back toward you.) I have been trying to troubleshoot, update all the firmware according to DJI Support, and have been messing with the settings myself. A friend of mine simply pushes the M button twice and his automatically aligns to portrait mode and stabilizes... mine does NOT. So far, the DJI support team hasn't been helpful. I just got this expensive device and cannot even use it. Can anyone help? All of the support videos and forums are outdated.
Mauros films.. my question is should I hold the trigger button while shooting? Also can you let me know the basic settings i should have as part of M1?
what I do not understand...in all these modes (except for sport mode) the gimbal drifts all over the place...when I do that undersling mode...the camera just randomly points of in any direction even when I hold down the trigger
Hi ! great video thanks for the explication. I have some troubles with the lock mode, I press the trigger button but nothing happens. The ronin doesn't lock, any idea why ?
How do you look on to a subject? I just started using the Ronin S, my first ever gimbal and I can't seem to stay on the subject when moving around. I know there's a lock button in the front of the handle, but it seems to only lock the "pitch" movement, but when I try to pan, the camera kind of sways around. Any tip?
Found a bug with the flashlight roll setting. My ronin completely freeze up and motors become unresponsive while unable to power off unless i turn off the battery itself. This is happening even with the most recent updates.
that woman must love you without any limit if she agreed to hold that heavy gimbal with camera on top. Let's be honest, it's heavy and even using the entire setup for 5 minutes will get your arm and back hurt. not sure why you all folks love this gimbal, it's heaaaaavy.
@@MAUROSFILMS yeah I updated it, I thought you could change it to underslung turned on but that messed it up. I have to put it on idle first then turn it back on.
Ivana Licul Great job you did Ivana in this video. You two is great combination in gear, photo and video tutorials and keep the good work! Hope for more videos where you helping him. Pozdrav 👍
That's actually not quite good.. the way you're showing it, the ronin does not rotate centered. That makes your b-roll kinda wobbly because the sensor doesn't turn on one axis but rather rotates around it, which is not the effect one is looking for. You either have to fix in post or mount the camera exactly centered on both axes. Going in underslung or flashlight mode is much easier by holding the trigger and simply tilting the gimble forward the way you want it, so you don't have to mind any bars hitting anything which is not supposed to be that way.
Hmm, without sounding like a smart arse, I suggest one of the biggest tricks to get better imagery with the Ronin S is to bend your knees when walking.
