@thegamelounge659 You can see it on his website, but it's the full MiSTer with a metal heatsink case, power cords, a BT+Wifi USB, & a pre-configured micro SD.
Speaks volumes that it tends to be those whom have never physically experienced FPGA tech that seem to be more supportive of free emulation software and Raspberry Pi based solely on cost. Any retro gamer who has experienced the benefits of FPGA over software emulation knows why there's no going back once one uses cycle accurate hardware and compare it with other options. No excuses for those with doubt to not try now with MiSTer Pi low price!
Hey, thanks for the comment. Like I said in the video. I really value both from a preservation perspective. For many many games software emulation is fine. In fact the enhancements of software emulation make it a preferable expierience. On the other hand there is a “feel” to FPGA. Playing 16-bit platformers that require split second twitch reflexes or even rhythm games on the PSX etc.
Apologies for responding in English. So yes. It should be compatible as the MISTER PI kit should be cross compatible with all mister products. However, I really can’t tell you about the quality of individual sellers on AliExpress. Look at reviews of the seller. I have had some great experiences with AliExpress but many haven’t.
@@thegamelounge659 Muchas gracias, yo pienso lo mismo. Deberia ser compatible porque "Mister Pi" es un Clon del D10Nano, asi que todo debería funcionar
Got mine on match 2. Outstanding device. Even better with daemonbites that allow you to use original controllers. My retrogaming endgame. Packed away my og consoles and analogue consoles as don't néed them anymore
So I paid $160 for the MEGA Pack. Which included not just the board. But the additional ram, IO Board, USB Hub, a free case. With all the extras you were looking at $300 all in with the DE10 Nano
😂😂😂 True, I’m certainly not the fastest getting content out. Plus I actually had to return mine and be shipped a new one, then wanted to really play and test it before I came out with my thoughts. Hopefully you enjoyed the video
Nice video. And if anyone is on the fence don't wait - buy the Taki kit that has just about everything you need to get started. I love mine - well worth every dollar.
currently as far as i’m aware you can’t play original cartridges/disks on mister fpga hardware. There are fpga gaming consoles such as the Analogue Pocket which let you use original GB/GBA cartridges but at this moment in time i believe loading ROMs from your sd card is the only way to run games from the mister
Fake news! MISTer is not the only way; there are quite a lot of other FPGA devices for retrogaming. To cite only 1 MIST: which is MISTer daddy and also MIST 1010 which is a MIST clone. What differentiate MISTer from the other is mainly its FPGA which has a lot more LEs than the others and can run cores which cannot be run on the others.
Thanks for the comment. I’m certainly not saying MISTer is the only way, but certainly for less technical people out there who maybe don’t want to commit the same budget then this is a great option. I’m super impressed with it all so far.
The name is very unfortunate, I still don't understand why using the "Pi". Pi has a very specific name in this (and other) environments. I get cloning the tech (kinda…), but why piggybacking the "Pi" brand is so odd.
@ yeh but you see, he did it again with the new project. Called it “SS” which is unfortunate on so many levels. One thing I want to underline is that he ran a survey for the naming and ignored it. Then there is that whole drama of him taking credit for stuff he didn’t… I dunno. I get it that the cloned Mister is cheaper but dude is too much drama every time…
Thanks for highlighting the awesome MiSTer FPGA project.
My pleasure!
I bought the Mr add-ons kit last year. It's become the single best video game purchase I've ever made.
Interesting, what exactly is in the kit?
@thegamelounge659 You can see it on his website, but it's the full MiSTer with a metal heatsink case, power cords, a BT+Wifi USB, & a pre-configured micro SD.
Love it love it
Thanks!
great explanation of fpga, it cleared up a lot of things for me
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the video
Love this, the Master System packaging is such a lovely touch
Yeah all very professionally put together
Unfortunately, my mister only has ONE appendage..
😂
my mrpi is still.in the box
You need to take it out 😂

I need to look up Daemonbites as that sounds impressive but yes I’m the same now. Barely touch anything N64 and below.
@@thegamelounge659 definatly worth your time. if you can solder then they are very cheap to make
Games are played as ISOs or ROMS on a SD card or hard drive.
Nano board is $225 and the Mister Pi is $180

0:19 "up to now": the QMTech is out there for over 4 months now.

Totally agree!
Where are the slots for the games?

Yes I agree, potentially too late to turn back once the name had been agreed. Still, I guess the name is irrelevant as the product itself is excellent
