    My effort to gain knowledge of this man led to my own enlightenment 8-9 years ago. I can only describe it as the acceptance of life as it is at this very moment and the knowledge that everything is exactly as it should be. There is no need for further questions. I still listen to this to maintain my sense of peace in my own life. I hope all can experience the peace that I have felt and know to be the true self. 🙏

      Consciousness is pure beingness or awareness. It is adppearance in the under lining substrata.

      appreciate the willingness to use the word 'enlightenment' and face the perception of others having said that about oneself. also thank you for sharing a description of the state/being - many would shy away from this, for reasonable reasons. please share what kind of meditation practices have worked for you if you don't mind sharing, thank you.

    I am so stunned to find this film show up on YT just now on my morning “check in” with coffee. My dear friend and psychic Michael Hillary Hughes was a devotee of Ramana Maharishi and quoted him often. Michael passed away many years ago and at 75 I would imagine I will see him in the next few years unless he’s jumped back in the game already. Ships that pass in the night. I bought one of his books 7 years ago after becoming interested in yoga and kept it on a shelf for 3 years before opening it. I was meditating once and saw it on my bookshelf. Was it composed exclusively for the movie ?

    • @cinefxproductions
      @cinefxproductions  3 года назад +39

      Hi Seb Nic. Yes the music was specially composed for the film by the film director who is also a sound designer. He used an enormous amount of instruments in the opening to create a “Brahma drone”. Various Choirs of Mellotrons - Virus T1 maps. Indian sample instruments. Also recordings in the hall. He worked for almost 6 months to produce that single track. Few notice the amount of work and the quality in it. Thank you.

    This documentary found me. Few days ago I heard "JNANI" during a meditation, I didn't bother looking it up. Then, this documentary came up in suggestions. In fact this comes the more I'm into the multiple realizations that truly everything is maya, mental projection of the eternal Self. The real peacefulness comes from the void - where paradoxically we realize the fullness of Being. Within this void everything becomes clear and peaceful - where nothing happens and all those phenomena that happen are realized being projections of one of the layers of Self.

    from what i learned from many authentic books (Siddha Vedam, Vipassana, WHO am i, Iam That etc) and research into what is really 'getting aligned in true lineage path', ramana has no compromises !!
    he doesnt not value experience of light, subtle nadis, astral travel, oval shaped big sphere around body, foretelling, having power over substances, alchemy, kundalini rise etc. ramana's teaching is direct path, a national high way to Self only to Self as complete Queiscence, impersonal Consciousness, impersonal presence rather than Self as states of consciousness, experience of crores of light power, sahasrara, lalitha tripoora sundhari in tanthric syllabus etc which may be the high altitude point of mind, uyir or subtlest conscious-energy (shakthi aspect) but still *not beyond the mind*. he doesnt see them or rank them as *spiritual progress* !!
    ramana's way is beyond mind (conscious-energy). ramana's way is pure shivam ( 'pure Consciousness' ie the underlying truth of all possbl states of consciousness). according to him effortless shanthi, grounded silence is the begining and imperturbable, rippleless, deepest Shanthi, when not even an iota of 'i' exists is the ultimate.
    ramana and other true jnanis doesnt allow shivam( 'pure Consciousness' ) in them to get converted into shakthi (mind or 'reflected consciousness' or say 'conscious-energy' ) from where appearance of biological body ('gross unconscious energy') emerge. only when someone comes to him, out of misery and if he puts a question to relieve himself , ramana allows the progression in him from 'pure Consciousness' to 'reflected consciousness' and finaly to 'gross unconscious energy'. this is why devotees of ramana who met him say that when they ask a question , ramana stares at them which seemed effortless, for long time and after 10min or sometimes even half an hour he comes to his body level and answers the question.
    Shivam = 'pure Consciousness', beyond high and low or say fundamantal of high low = Self, Atman, Shanthi, Wisdom.
    Shakthi or Vishnu = 'reflected consciousness', Intelligence, several states of consciousness from low to high = mind, Uyir, Prana
    Brahma = 'gross unconscious energy' = biology, deham.
    they are not gods or persons. they are concepts to explain the progression of life from Consciousness to biology in our moment to moment experience. therefore creation and destruction , back and forth happening on the screen of Consciousness. to become aware of this maya progression, the basic instruction for a disciple is to increase the "degree of concentration on a single thought" !!

Must not have been ready when i was younger and came across Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings, it is so plain and simple, yet profound. No longer can one say "I am a seeker". Could not help but to chuckle after hundreds of books, esoteric studies and paying dues in an Order. So mote it be. 🔱💚🙏

    Maharishi goes much deeper into the understanding of the self than anything else I have read. Usually most spiritual teachings lead you to an understanding that your true essence is awareness prior to identification with form, the realising of the false self, the ego and finding solace and peace in the knowledge that all your suffering is illusory. Like The Four Noble Truths in Buddhism which explain the suffering in life and how to approach extinguishing the flame of suffering through wisdom and meditation. But incredibly Maharishi goes so much deeper into the realisation of self. Actually it makes me feel quite uncomfortable but there is a certain resonance of truth in what he points to. He truly was a remarkable man and in this age of deceit with so many false gurus out there profiteering on the resurgence in eastern spirituality his message remains as relevant as ever.

    • @chendaforest
      @chendaforest 4 года назад +1

      Agreed. The simplicity and universality of his message is appealing, indeed as David Godman points out self inquiry is not even a religious practice. But it is a somewhat unsettling idea, but one which intuitively feels true.

We often think of divinity as something fantastic, when in reality it's very simple, it's just that we are full of thoughts and emotions clouding our judgment. The secret is to take off, not to add, impersonality. Thank you for this documentary!
