Brilliant...wish I had known it during my college hostel days many years back...used to use the matkas for improving the bass effect of car speakers in the room. 👌👍
i was thinking for a long time to replace the grass of my cooler by crushed pot pieces ....it will create less humidity as compared to the grass ...finally someone made something similar and more innovative ....i would try making it in the next summer season
Hey, this is perfect when we want to run a laptop or a desktop in a hot environment. Since the humidity level won't be as high as compared to a water cooler with grass, I think this is the best option for someone living in a relatively small room, like a hostel. Great idea man! will definitely try it!!
that's great that you use the evaporation of water to cool the air, but at the same time that cool air flows out of the fan, would there also also be warm water vapor coming out from the top? if so then only the space right next to the fan will be cool while the space above the pot will be warm and humid. a solution is to place the pot opening outside the house and the fan blows into the house that way you don't get much warm humid air inside
Jon Towers yup...but fr humid condition ur house needs to be designed in traditional way..u can check traditional rural houses near ocean...they r made of mud to make them cooler instead of bricks.
Another solution:BIG fans.I have s BIg fan ( it's two feet wide) and I keep the oscillating feature off by pushing down the plastic "stick" at the top of the fan. Then I sleep on just a mattress on the floor with a sheet on it ( sleeping this way brings one to lower ground where it's cooler).I also open all the windows and sleep on the main floor with the BIG two foot wide fan blowing on me as I sleep, read and use my mobile device .The BIG fan works like a portable air conditioner .It's great. However this system only works on the main floor of buildings.Once you get to the second floor or higher you need airconditioning. This is why I never rent a place higher than the first floor. If you have a nice clean basement you can go there and you won't need airconditioning or even a small fan. This system only works if you live in a safe area where there is gun control (not downtown in big U.S. cities) because you. Have to keep the windows open. About the above air cooler in the video: You might want to try putting that into a large clean plastic soda bottle. The plastic soda bottle would be much easier to cut.
*Proper ventilation and right placement can directly cut 2 months AC bills in India..Summers are 4 months killing..These concepts are eco friendly and money friendly as well👍*
it's a humidifier. If you live in the desert where the temperature is high and the humidity is near zero, it'll make things cooler and more comfortable. If you live in a rainforest area (such as the Appalachians), all it'll do is make the uncomfortably-humid air even more humid.
great work. without motor electricity consumption will be saved and for bigger room these can be installed in large number in a window. these will cool the room that's enough
Idea is excellent and environmental friendly but it's not acceptable the temperature dropped to 14.5 I am sure it has a certain trick beacuse our room ac has lowest temperature of 16 degree Celsius.please don't mind... Thanks for sharing your thoughts and knowledge. Mannu Bhardwaj
Gtfuturetechnology It is realistic, but what he is really mesuring so closed to the fan, is mainly windchill. The overall cooling effect of this pot is probably neglectable. Primo: You might feel it in your face, when you are sitting not farher than 2 feet away from it, but it is sure not strong enough, to cool down an entire room. Secundo: It will only work well in a desert like heat with a low moisture rate below 30%. In a tropical climate where the relative moisture rate is mostl likely around 70 to 80% or higher, it might not work at all..
Oldinea Miller windchill is a phenomenon of water evaporating off your skin further reducing the temperature that you feel. It has ZERO effect on a dry sensor that is not evaporating, therefore it cannot create the same cooling effect. Windchill is really just an approximation of how a human would feel. Not a temperature sensor, which correctly gives you the temperature before they apply the windchill factor.
yes, there is a trick... measuring the temperature on the output side of the contraption and NOT the input side (where it draws air)... AC units have the temp sensor in the input side for a reason... AC units blow really really cold air... but try to cool a room with a tiny ac unit in summer... you still get very low temperature if you read it close to the outlet... but the rest of the room will feel hot and humid... not a nice environment... xD cheers!
Hi there, please check how cooling towers work, it's exactly the same principle, the only downside is that you increase humidity on the air ;), to check how temperature may drop depends on the conditions from the air (relative humidity and starting temperature), in México we use similar pots to keep the water cool on sumer, we leave them near to the door as somebody who cames in could kick them and increase the area where the pot is humid, thus increasing heat transfer from evaporating water.
Great attempt! But measuring mechanism is wrong. 1. You can not measure temperature in direct sun light, likewise you cannot measure in the gust from the fan. Obviously more air molecules hit the probe taking away more temperature resulting in lower temperature. You will get the same effect by just running the fan without the pot. 2. The lower temperature in pot works only only for water or any liquids that can evaporate at room temperature.
+1man1van I'm not. But I'm not psychic either. It's presumably his tool, so why not show how he constructed it? Or perhaps a genius like you can describe in detail what components are put together??!
Great innovation with eco friendly ways. I have a question - what is the need of multiple capillary holes, doesn't it make the water to leak off immediately?
Why not design a pot with a good fan in the bottom to force air up through a clay flute that allows water to be absorbed through it passing through the center of the pot with the inside of the pot filled with sand to absorb water? If you designed a tall pot like this would not the flute contract the air and with moisture from the clay flute being wicked away cool the air down?
earthen pot should be more bigger in size to cover whole room, but I liked concept and also tried at home,it takes about 2 and half hour to cool the room,it cools room atleast we can sleep comfortably.
A large pot with a Stirling cryogenic piston to super cool multitherm fluid in a heat exchange radiator with a recycled fan from a portable air conditioning unit to force air through pot to cool a room. A way to reuse old used portable air conditioning units folks throw away when they break down because no one wants to fix them.
This product is good to make for a room which is very small where only a person can sit. Because this small cooler can cover only a few square feet's according to room condition. If this device is bigger then it will cover a bigger room. I don't feel making this will give a huge effect to normal rooms. Anyways I liked this video concept from any other air cooler videos, the earthen pot is the best part which avoids to keep the dry grass and a water motor away to circulate water. Earthen pot cools the water automatically and thus spreads the cool air.
I think I see the Venturi affect along with evaporation. I think I will include a nice plant on top of the pot to dispose of excess water. Perhaps if I use a PC fan I can take power directly from my computer/laptop?
thank u sir this is easy and simple way to make a cooler i ever seen but sir how u made the handy driller with dc motor please make video about it it i'll help us...
En vez de taparle por arriba, dejarlo abierto y así podrías meter hielos los cuales en el barro protegidos duran más tiempo fríos y aparte el agua que se haga seguiría igual de fria por mucho tiempo
I dont know about how much the temperature can drop but this is quite likely to make a good drop in the temperature. Those of us who have seen it know that just keeping water in an earthen pot makes you cool water to drink even on a hot humid summer day so I dont for a minute doubt that you will get cool air
If you put this air cooler in an air conditioned room, its efficiency will be even better. You can drop down the temperature even more like 13 or 12 depending on your air conditioner efficiency!
ankit ji...he want to reduce electricity bill, I think.........In my video room temp was approx 30 degree celsius ...if i used that cooler in a AC room (temp 24 degree celsius )..then surely temp would be reduced to 13 or 12 degree celsius.
HI Jay Dev, it is really a good video, i would like to give a try, however i dint understood one part, where you make multiple holes to the pot.wont the water come out of the holes. please light some understanding for me to work it out
Pretty cool. Hey what? Were you nervous? I saw your hand shaking. Haha, obviously join. The time lapse just threw me for a second. I'll bet others did too.
somehow this vid makes me understand how coolerado works...just the output air doesn't increase in moisture caused by evap..outside air passes thru the dry side of the working air...
Thinking further and checking Internet sources , this product needs to be promoted far and wide. The hotter the summer the cooler the output air. This device leaves the cooling part to natural forces. The fan just distributes the chillness. Saving on cooling energy alone will run into trillion dollars in summer. Small inexpensive additions like a ball float to allow water to make up for depletion , A drain port for periodic cleaning, a removable gasket fitted lid to enable hand reach to scrub fungus, and better electricals like keeping wires outside the pot can be done to give it a big commercial boost.
JAY DEV , you have eliminated the gas compressor from your design . That compressor is the monster that is gulping electricity and depleting our forests and polluting cities. Bravo, your invention ranks with many great ones. I am an engineer myself and how I wish to do something like this. Give us more. We are all proud of you.

sir...you can make it very easily
But grass is still cooler
Cool Idea. Thanks a lot.....

Wow, lovely !! We knew bits and pieces of this technology but you made it a whole and presented a working model. Give us more like this.
thank u sir
Traditional Swamp Cooler... ie. Evaporative cooler, which does not work in humid climates... juz sayin 😉😎
Jon Towers yup...but fr humid condition ur house needs to be designed in traditional way..u can check traditional rural houses near ocean...they r made of mud to make them cooler instead of bricks.

Great job.....👍👍
thanks
Beautiful, I like your technology
thank u
Very nice innovative concept.
thank you
Amazing...it can also be used as humidifier. Very helpful in green houses. Thanks
thank u
buy a very big pot like this, and try using this same method. Then it may cool larger rooms
wow brilliant work ✌
thank u
Easy to make and worth to use small areas like, PCOs, Traffic Police posts, Pan shops, Demo Stalls, etc.
yes u r right
So cool.i ll make one trying
good
I really really appreciate this design.. That fan hardly takes 200 mA current.. and It can give you 14 degree C temp.
great work.
without motor electricity consumption will be saved and for bigger room these can be installed in large number in a window. these will cool the room that's enough
yaa
Super concept ...
thank u
Caracas, show de bola.
Fun to watch .....Really great mate it's very cool what you did there ...👍
Make them more and sell them to poor people who can't afford AC'S by that you can get more satisfaction
Thats 'COOL' 👌👌👌
thanks

4 to 5 earthen pots with this Jugaad should do the trick for a big room instead of a water cooler.. Good one!
YAA
Please show me the video of how you made that cool little drill.
Yes please... The drill Video
If you can't see from this video how that is made then you are not that bright!

Wooow
Very practical and great idea!! I a'm on. keep up with the good work!
thank u sir
tum to great ho
thank you..
very nice. appreciable
thanks
Very Good Video , Very Good Job
100%👍
thank you sir
very good...........
for better area cover we can use more coolers like this at specific distance
yes...right sir
A motor less version can be thought of with wider rectangle shaped pot to be kept near windows.
Nice vid ;)
thank u

Technical India how can it cool a room
Great work.. keep it up. So proud of you.

akhir kehna kya chahte ho?
Translation
bro, according to creator of this video, if use 13 such coolers, u will reach absolute zero! fuck summer
15 coolers and your sking off the sheets of your bed and bouncing out your apartment door. LOL
Just watch the stairs they very hot during the summer.
Gjb idea
thanks

for bigger room we need bigger earthen pot....and accordingly we need high power fan..
That's right (Y)
Give detailing for videos.. Some ppl may be unaware and make such devices and may feel worthless.
Ankit Bansal earthen pot doesn't cool the water, it's the continuous flow of air which does it
ibmjadoo, nope. Its just evaporation of water, which consume heat from air.
continous flow of air around the wet pot does the cooling.
Thiis is amazing ive tried it and this works well
thank u
Wow! This can stop climate change!
good concept but I think it could be more larger pot and keeping grass pads inside the pot and small pump motor also may gives better result
Muito bom!
so good
I think I see the Venturi affect along with evaporation. I think I will include a nice plant on top of the pot to dispose of excess water. Perhaps if I use a PC fan I can take power directly from my computer/laptop?
u r right sir
You can holded on top of the cap or Fill the funnel above the jug
Wowww
wow
thank u sir this is easy and simple way to make a cooler i ever seen but sir how u made the handy driller with dc motor please make video about it it i'll help us...
madhu krishna ...sir I already uploaded video of " how to make drill machine" ..u can check it......and thanks for your comment ......
finally brilliant idea to use clay water container for water cooler!
thanks
The best thing is that u use the instruments which u have made before

ok sir....thank u
Genial
HI Jay Dev, it is really a good video, i would like to give a try, however i dint understood one part, where you make multiple holes to the pot.wont the water come out of the holes. please light some understanding for me to work it out
those holes are for air inlet ....water level should be below the hole.....
nice idea
thanks
awesomeeeeee
thank you
AWESOME
thanks
Very nice
thanks
Similar to the zeer pot then... *cool* idea :D
The only caveat is that the air has to be fairly dry already. ;)
YAA
I like the concept but 14.5 is to be checked
you can check it sir
14 deg centigrade !!!
Mohammad Shaik the minimum temperature of our a.c. is 16°C
Mohammad Shaik ..yes it need to be checked . you can trick 14° by doing this experiment in air conditioned room !!
JUNAID PANHALEKAR why don't you try and tell lol
Pretty cool. Hey what? Were you nervous? I saw your hand shaking. Haha, obviously join. The time lapse just threw me for a second. I'll bet others did too.
not join....i speed up video more than 10x times..thats why shaking
Hey Jay. It was a typo I meant 'just joking'. I knew you sped it up after a second or two. :)

Couldn't the air inlet be higher up for more cooling due to capillary action.
Nice upload

Hello ! Why when you do the temperature tests there are no traces of water capillarity on the jar? So there is no water in it, how do you explain it?
hey super sago
