This powerful raid farm is optimized for early game, requiring few materials and only 18 minutes to build (if you know exactly what you are doing), yet the farm can be run AFK and is just as productive as other raid farm designs that are much more complicated. This farm can be upgraded with a Raid Captain Bank, which allows you to run this farm without ever finding a pillager outpost:

FAQs:
"Why do vexes keep killing me?" You need to kill raid mobs in one hit so that evokers don't summon vexes. The most practical way is to use a sword with sweeping edge enchantment, and make sure that you only attack about once per second. If you do not have an appropriate sword, taking a Potion of Invisibility may be helpful instead. You can also reroll your initial trade with a weaponsmith until you get an iron sword with sweeping edge.
"Why don't I have many mobs?" Ideally, you should play on hard difficulty. Normal and easy difficulty will also work, but the rates are much lower. Also, make sure that you wait for the horn to stop blaring before flipping the lever so that all the mobs have a chance to spawn.
"Why don't I have any mobs?" Make sure that the job site has the same X and Z coordinates as the northwest corner of the spawning platform, and make sure that the job site is claimed by your villager. Make sure that the spawning pad is not flooded when you are trying to start the raid. And make sure that you are not playing in peaceful difficulty. Make sure that you do not have land within 69 blocks (cylindrical distance) of the job site, as the raid can spawn there instead of at the farm.
"How do I stop the farm?" Just drop down to trigger a raid (which removes the bad omen effect) and leave.
"I'm still having problems." Try out the world download or litematica file to check your build. This raid farm may not work perfectly on modded servers. Leave me a comment and I might be able to help.
"I lose the bad omen effect when dropping down to the ocean and a raid does not start." The village needs at least 30 seconds after the horns stop blaring to cool down before another raid can start. If you try to start another raid too early, the bad omen effect is wasted.
"My raid bar disappears as I go up the bubble column." The boss bar always disappears when you are far enough away from the villager's workstation. Watch at 12:25 to 13:05 for an example.

I use smooth stone in this video to make it easier to count blocks, but you can substitute with a different type of solid block (like dirt).
The outer edge of the 5x5 spawning platform is made of glass blocks to prevent spawning of ravagers, which are wide enough to clip into the walls. The torch above the dispenser prevents spawning on top of the dispenser face, which is needed for the same reason.
For each wave, there are 20 attempts to spawn raid mobs at location above the x and z coordinates of the village center, with a random 0-4 added to each coordinate. You would need a 5x5 square to guarantee success of every attempt, but this is unnecessary because there are 20 attempts. Using just 9 solid blocks, like in this design, means that the wave will spawn 99.99% of the time, which is good enough for practical purposes.
Pulover's, TinyTask, and AutoHotKey are free macro recorders. Gaming keyboards and mice usually come with macro software as well that can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. EssentialClient is a mod that can be used to run macros in-game:

Your tutorials are absolutely the best ones i have ever seen as so many people also said in comments. You truly deserve a 100 times the subscribers you have.
This tutorial is so survival friendly and makes it so that everything is easy and fast to construct, while being just as efficient as other raid farms at the fraction of the time and resources spent on them. This tutorial is truly amazing
One thing that wasn't added in this video - to stop the farm you have two options:
You either leave before killing the raid so you don't get a bad omen effect (which increases the likelyhood of Vex spawns as Evokers will get fully healed by regeneration from witches - but in return you can restart the farm where you left off)
Or you can drink Milk after you killed every Raid member to cleanse you from Bad Omen and then drop down to the villager. But then you need another Raid captain from elsewhere to restart the farm.
Not joking, I cracked when he said 'twice' after making sure he stated every possible thing you may want the gem for. This is a really good video and tutorial. I do not even consider ever starting a raid in Minecraft before this despite how good it is just because it looks like such a hassle. This video slaps me hard in the face. Good job man!

Been subscribed since you only had a couple farm guides out and of all the farms of yours I've built, this one is the most absurdly productive given it took me an hour to build, including pausing to follow along with your (very clear and useful!) instructions. @@ryanandela5033 If you hit an evoker as it is falling, it will break its fall and give your location away. Then they can spawn vexes which is most likely to be what killed you.
I build this farm and it doesn't work. The raid doesn't trigger. :(
I have been watching so many tutorials for this farm so I could get the perfect design and this one is perfect I even customized it a little, best design if you want to get a quick farm for a hardcore world, and there's almost no risk in dying. Good Farm :>

pro tip: you can bring 30 woods instead of 6 boats that can save you 5 inventory slots
34 wood. Otherwise, you need a crafting table in your inventory.
Also, the same could be said about the ladders, signs, trapdoor and the gate; Taking the sticks and wood (or just the logs for even further compacting) would allow one to save a lot of inventory space until it matters.

thank you for your great tutorial, this is basically same as rays work design concept but with minimal effort to build. I personally like an automations in farms, but feel the demand on the raid drop is not that much beside the emerald and totem, and always questioning that done with with full automations feels like very overkill.

absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend building this, it is really easy and only took me 2 minutes to get about 15 totems and 2 stacks of emeralds (works on multiplayer as well)

Wow. This is awesome early game. You could practically build this before a food farm. The lava trick is genius. I restart my world with every major update so will be using this as a go to once 1.17 comes out.

How did you make it work? I'm also on 1.19.2 and every time I start a raid it disappears
@@samanthamascmascareno1383 My issue was that there was still a spawnable block that the first wave was able to spawn on near the villager. The ENTIRE first wave spawned on my shaulker box. If you didn't build this farm in the middle of an ocean i'd look for a spawnable block that the first wave can spawn on. Hope this helps

My conclusion for 1.21 so far:
The farm still works (: but it got nerfed.
You need to drink an ominous bottle to get Bad Omen and then go near the villager. Bad omen will then transform into a 30s "Raid Omen" Effect. You have to be near the villager/in the village as it ENDS. Only then will the raid bar appear. After that you just play the raid as normal and get new ominous bottles for the next run.
So far I have gotten 0-2 new ominous bottles (with random Level) per Raid, so it is rather not sustainable.
Because you can store the ominous bottles the Raid captain bank is now useless.
The nerf:
- each round takes 30s longer
- sometimes you only get Ominous Bottle Level 1, which results in 1 wave less than Level 2-5
- the ominous bottles are not sustainable
how come my raids keep starting at the bottom
like i reach the top of the farm and the raid bar goes away

@@milanleysen2068 no, but you need to make sure to have a maxed out diamond/netherite sword with sweeping edge and sharpnes maxed out (+ strength beacon/potion) - if you don't 1hit you die probably

A useful tip for leaving the farm without milk - if you want to get rid of the 'Bad Omen' effect without using milk and losing your Hero of the Village effect, you can run this simple process:
1) Ensure the spawning platform flooded lever is activated and it's still flooded with water
2) Drop down to the water (you may have to break a block to bypass the gate) at the bottom of the bubble column elevator
3) A Raid notification will appear as usual, quickly ascent back up the bubble elevator.
NB: What will happen is that since the spawn platform is still flooded, the game will be unable to find a location to spawn the raid, and will simply cancel it.
4) Finally, flick the switch again to unflood the platform for next time you want to use the raid farm.
You can then travel to any nearby village or perhaps your trading hall, and utilize the Hero of the Village effect, or simply save having to use (and restock) milk buckets at your raid farm.

You can just leave the farm normally, the bad omen is removed when you reach the bottom and since you aren’t up there the raiders dont spawn

make sure that you are using a sweeping edge sword and attack about every second. dont attack continuously. you should almost never see any vexes.
For those who are wondering if this still works in 1.21 thanks to the ominious bottle, it does. You just have to make sure to obtain and drink the bottle dropped by a raid captain from the raid to get the Bad Omen effect. I drank it at the bottom of the bubble column next to the villager and it worked.
As for the Captain Bank Upgrade, it appears that only one bottle drops after the raid is over, and no other raid captain drops additional bottles. If I'm incorrect, please reply to me so that I can edit this comment.
You just have to wait at the bottom for the 30 second "Raid Omen" buff to expire then the raid bar appears on top and you go up the bubbles. I couldnt figure it out for a few tries >
Hey (: first of all, awesome farm, I love the simplicity combined with efficiency :D
I did have some issues with this farm though due to a slight misunderstanding:
4:54 "any direction except north, I start building west in this example" - I started building south
6:20 "find the northwest corner" - now, because I started building south instead of west, I thought I had to check for the southwest corner instead due to the 90° rotation. After adding the composter below the southwest corner, the farm didn't work properly.
After a lot of testing and scrolling through some comments, I've now realized that it has to be the northwest corner regardless of the direction you started building.
Since there could be other players with the same problems, you could maybe add another note to the FAQ saying that at 6:20, it has to be the northwest corner regardless of the starting direction at 4:54.

Why not just build west? It's gonna be a headache if it doesn't work so why would u choose to build south when he builds west? I usually just follow everything exactly in tutorials so I don't have problems.

For anybody who got issues starting the farm. For example on a Vault Hunters Modpack the Villager must sleep once beneath the farm. Otherwise it wont work.
That issue can appear, if you picked up the Villager (Easy Villager mod) and placed him there.
maybe that helps somebody who had the same issues as me

Amazing farm, works like a charm. One thing to point out though: in the video you said, the ideal sword is a Sweeping edge 3 and sharp 5 sword. Actually, this farm is nearly impossible to use without these two enchantments in hard difficulty.

I think this farm is the best farm because it so easy to make and produces so much items. I built it under 20 min and works brilliant.

sadly it doesn't
Still works as of 1.18.2. I just replaced the glass to the right of the standing platform with a crafting table for easy emerald block crafting.
