I heard him once claim that he used to sit in cinemas behind young girls who were watching his films, and at an opportune moment moment would lean forward and say (in his inimitable voice) "Are you enjoying the movie, ladies?" and giggle himself as they jumped out of their skins. What a legend.
I love anything Vincent Price. I wanted to see him on Twilight Zone and Outer Limits--I always wondered why that never happened. I also wanted him as Captain Nemo.
Vincent Price had more grace, dignity, and sophistication in the dirt under his fingernails than most of us will ever have in our entire lifetimes. But what really made him a gem is that he never forgot his humanity because of it. He always remained humble, humorous, and kind. Despite his exquisite tastes, he was neither snobby or selfish, and worked in a variety of genres considered both high and low brow. He dedicated much time, effort, and money to aiding and encouraging others in their own artistic aspirations. He was also an outspoken opponent of racism, religious prejudice, and homophobia. Vincent Price was a man who could climb Mt. Everest and never lose sight of the ground where he started from, and we lost so much when we lost him. But I suppose he couldn't have lived forever; he just looked too good in that coffin!
All you say of Vinnie is true. I could not have asked for a better friendship - he, and of course, the wonderfully witty and intellectually inclined Coral Browne are both sorely missed. More grace, sophistication and talent beyond the role of an actor … his talents were human etched with the most eloquent of dialect and portraiture. I could go on for hours.
Watching Vincent Price spontaneously bursting into an Oscar Wilde poem. Delivering every line and word masterfully, is the closest thing to a religious experience. A Giant amongst Giants!
Legend. He was a fantastic actor, really decent man. He never took himself or life seriously, and was very down to earth. He also had a fantastic art collection.
I don't normally make comments, but some times I check things out....tonight, I checked out Mr. Vincent Price ... please bare with me, for I am just a pure sinner...but still, to this day...a day for such has we have, my friends, the still greatest voice I have ever heard, is Vincent Price's, narrating the Poems of Edgar Allen Poe....Enjoy...and a Merry Christmas to one and All...x
Price sure was and is conqueror of hearts, there are so many absolute admirers of him like me! I just cant have enough of him! The way he acts, talks, his voice- all are magical!
They don't make men of such talent anymore. One of his greatest qualities as an actor is that he has such a sense of humor about himself, and does not take himself and his success very seriously. Humor, and the unspoken joke has always been an underlying element in any dialogue between him and his accomplices. I am sure he enjoyed every bit of his work, and would not call it "work." "second -hand millionaire!" :)
I would imagine that he was the first name on any list where dinner parties and alike were concerned. He was also a corden bleu cook so if he was the host you were guaranteed a great meal alongside great conversation
Dana Gould was in an acting class which Mr Price graced with his presence. Someone there, referring (I think it was) to a potentially embarrassing commercial in which Price had appeared, solemnly asked him 'What were you doing in _that_?' Without hesitation, Price answered 'I was _working_, young man…I was _working_.'
I love this guy. His style and wonderful irony is just delightful. One of the most beautiful voices of the 20th century (alongside James Mason and Ian Richardson
Ah, I wish I had lived during the great era of Vincent Price. I was but a boy when I saw very old movies of him. The world could use more good men like him.
Wonderful interview with a wonderful human being. Price was more than just a horror icon, he was a true artiste, and someone worth looking up to. That's a rare thing to have these days. He is dearly missed.
Such a classy, gorgeous man! He was married to the equally wonderful and witty actress Coral Browne. What amazing dinner party guests they must have been!
He was a cordon bleu cook so can imagine what a dinner party party at his house would have been like. A fantastic meal and sparking conversation. Does it get any better. I could listen to this man for hours and not get bored
Oh I so agree! And such a beautiful voice too. I think Vincent and his contemporary horror stars Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were such a classy trio - and great friends off-screen God bless 'em. They don't make stars like that anymore!
Vincent Price and Peter Cushing, the two most wonderful gentlemen of horror films. Two such wonderful men and sadly missed. Price and Cushing are big heroes to me. That voice of Price is just wonderful to listen to. The first time I saw Vincent Price was in Edward Scissorhands when I was 6 in 1991. When I saw him in that I started watching his movies, then watched Peter Cushing and they became my idols of horror movies.
I love Vincent Price. I wish I could have met him before he passed. But I was only 7 years old in 93. I've got alot of his movies & I watch em over & over. There will never be another like Price. We miss you Vincent!!!
It's hard to believe that these two men are dead. Terry Wogan was born in my city Limerick, in Ireland. God rest their souls. From Ireland, Monday, the 31st of July 2022 @9am 🧡🇮🇪💚
I was born in 1976 and so I grew up with the 1980's Vincent Price...I knew of his movies but I pretty much was introduced to him through his TV commercials and MYSTERY on the PBS station...then when I got older I began my Vincent movie collection.
What an amazing man who possessed an unmatched richness in his voice, an intellect to match, and inspiring and engaging with anyone who was fortunate to find themselves in his presence. Wish I possessed his talent... Christopher / London
I saw it too, and it was sublime. I also had the great pleasure of meeting him for several hours and discussing a number of things with him. He was charm itself.
Such a brilliant man A superb actor Well educated in the art world an author of Cook books a voice that can fill us with humor or terror. A well dressed well versed articulate man.Vincent I don't think there anything that you could never accomplish. It would of been an honor to meet you. I met your daughter she was charming. Thru your films , books and your daughter , your legacy lives on. With digital media I am greatful to see you and learn more about you. Rip
Fun fact Vincent Price was actually my Nana's cousin. My Nan who unfortunately passed in 1999 told me about him when I was younger. I never got to meet him but my mother did. He seems like he was an amazing man. :)
Vincent Price is a true class act, friendly, open and gracious in every interview with him I've seen. He could teach a lot of modern actor's how to conduct themselves in interviews!
Always a pleasure to see and hear Vincent Price in an interview! He was unusually intelligent and cultured for an American actor and therefore so much more enjoyable. Check out the way he "roasted" Bette Davis (here on youtube): absolutely "priceless"!
I found a movie called " Champagne for Ceasar " with Vincent and Ronald Coleman, it was amazing watching Price in a comedy role . He was hilarious and devilish as only Vincent can be .
I am so greatful to be able to say that I saw VP in person in Diversions and Delights at the old Elictch Theater in Denver Co. Definately one of the highpoints of my life.
I was in the 8th grade, riding on the bus to school in a tiny rural town in Kansas when a friend put headphones on my ears and said, "Listen to this." The radio broadcast announced that Vincent Price had died. I was a small town kid but he was my window to filmmaking, art, and culture. I was absolutely devastated.
So few people have the talent, charm, wit and good looks to match, like our good friend Vinne. Actor, art collector, gourmet chef, and a wonderful human being. He really knew how to enjoy life.
I heard him once claim that he used to sit in cinemas behind young girls who were watching his films, and at an opportune moment moment would lean forward and say (in his inimitable voice) "Are you enjoying the movie, ladies?" and giggle himself as they jumped out of their skins.
What a legend.
That is SO cool!!! 😆 Im sad im too young to have ever had a chance to meet these greats.
That's true. His daughter old me absolute fact.
He's excellent! ... And very humours , I feel . 😊😊
Yeah , I also heard this !! 😊
I love anything Vincent Price. I wanted to see him on Twilight Zone and Outer Limits--I always wondered why that never happened. I also wanted him as Captain Nemo.
I could listen to Price reading ingredients and I'd be utterly enthralled. A class act.
I heartily concur ! What an incredible voice ! And such a classy gentleman. I love his zest for life & wonderful sense of humor.
cant believe hes american, most british sounding yank ive ever heard
His roast of Bette Davis is a true gem, and shows what a class act he was.
You’ll be happy to know then that he has audio cookbooks.😂
Guy was one of a kind. RIP♥️
What a personality. A real charming gentleman, who has not been replaced nor surpassed in decades since his death.
Well said and well put !

He was brilliant and he did us proud!
@chief tp do you?
@chief tp do you know grace, etc? Or recognize it?

Vincent is so lovely, amazing man
Price is so clearly enjoying himself. Makes me smile.
So true. A wonderfully delightful interview. I love Mr Price's marvelous sense of humor.
He makes me laugh out loud more than many comedians.
3 legends, vincent price, christopher lee and peter cushing
which movie is this?!
Awesome fantastic fabulous Actors.
The best of the genre.
The End.
Yes indeed! Masters
And Donald Pleasance.
im glad he was happy- he deserved his success
Watching Vincent Price spontaneously bursting into an Oscar Wilde poem. Delivering every line and word masterfully, is the closest thing to a religious experience. A Giant amongst Giants!
Price had an accent unto himself! He was a king among men and I really mean that.
I love the idea of them having a birthday party in Madame Tussaud's. "You couldn't tell who were the actors!" Favourite bit.
🤣
Amazing interviewer, loved his warm smile and laughter. Sir Terry Wogan.
One Of The Greats.
I Met Him Yesrs Ago.
Charming Gentleman.
God Bless 💗🙏
Legend. He was a fantastic actor, really decent man. He never took himself or life seriously, and was very down to earth. He also had a fantastic art collection.
How could ANYONE dislike this?!
Sammy Davis Jr.?

Debbie Menon hi
The thespians of today seem like they're coasting their way through acting compared to him
I could listen to Vincent price forever, he is both very talented and so very funny.
Vincent Price Was a Nice Warm Gentlemen Off Camera Even When He Didn't Play Villains RIP Vincent Price!
Yes ! Most of the screen's best villians (Price, Karloff, Lugosi, etc) were kind, sweet men offscreen.
When you see him in a movie, you think the man is amazing, when you see him in an interview you think, he's more amazing.
Yes!
I certainly have a notion to second THAT emotion !!
Dana Gould was in an acting class which Mr Price graced with his presence. Someone there, referring (I think it was) to a potentially embarrassing commercial in which Price had appeared, solemnly asked him 'What were you doing in _that_?'
Without hesitation, Price answered 'I was _working_, young man…I was _working_.'
vincent had a great voice....lovely interpretation of oscar wilde. terry was in awe.
Should've asked him some decent questions, instead of goofing around for laughs.
I'm in such bewildered are of this absolute treasure.
Vincent Price, what a legend
+johnbarry007 Oh Yeah a Very Nice Guy As Well When He Was Off Camera!
This poem shows why Oscar Wilde was such a legend. Priceless words! Powerful rendition.
I love this guy. His style and wonderful irony is just delightful. One of the most beautiful voices of the 20th century (alongside James Mason and Ian Richardson
Such an outstanding, wonderful, charming man! Who doesn’t love Vincent Price? Love all his films.
It's strange seeing Vincent speaking in his more natural voice. Seems like a happy man!
One of the best Actor of All time. Rip Price 😭😭😭
R.I.P. Vincent Price 🙏
I smiled from the beginning to the end .
Me too!!
Same
"...I see if you've stolen any new things from other countries.." What a gentleman!
that was a classic statement right there
I absolutely love House Of Wax, it is just fantastic and a personal favourite of mine
Lovely man
That stealing art line and the look on Wogan's face after Vincent said it Priceless. Pun intended.
Ah, I wish I had lived during the great era of Vincent Price.
I was but a boy when I saw very old movies of him.
The world could use more good men like him.
this is my first times hearing his interviews socially, very flamboyant person just absolutely funny.
what a total gent Vincent really was. a class act all the way
I agree 100 per cent !
imagine having vincent as a grandfather he could tell some great ghost stories
Indubitably ! Having Vinnie as one's maternal grandfather and Boris Karloff as one's paternal grandfather would be even better !
Think he does on youtube from the 50s perhaps 60s
I miss him so much...
Wonderful interview with a wonderful human being. Price was more than just a horror icon, he was a true artiste, and someone worth looking up to. That's a rare thing to have these days. He is dearly missed.
That voice was one in a million. Love listening to him.

I always thought Vincent was British until I was told otherwise. Elocution impeccable!

He was from Missouri, which surprised me!
Vincent Price and Peter Cushing, the two most wonderful gentlemen of horror films. Two such wonderful men and sadly missed. Price and Cushing are big heroes to me. A master class in the way to deliver poetry.
An American treasure: Vincent Price. This man had a mind and an eye for great art.
I could listen to him all night long.
I love Vincent Price. I wish I could have met him before he passed. But I was only 7 years old in 93. I've got alot of his movies & I watch em over & over. There will never be another like Price. We miss you Vincent!!!

Thanks for that. What a lovely, witty man Mr Price was.
What an icon. What a voice and command of his roles.

Vincent had the greatest horror voice. Incredible delivery. Wogan should have just stuck with radio though!
My god. There will NEVER be another man like Vincent, you can count on that. The delivery of words in this manner are a dying if not dead art.
What an amazing man who possessed an unmatched richness in his voice, an intellect to match, and inspiring and engaging with anyone who was fortunate to find themselves in his presence. Wish I possessed his talent... Christopher / London
I was lucky enough to see Vincent Price on stage as Oscar Wilde around this time. He says here it's one of the best things he ever did and it was.
I envy you the experience!
I saw it too, and it was sublime. I also had the great pleasure of meeting him for several hours and discussing a number of things with him. He was charm itself.
Let´s not forget Mr Christopher Lee
Such a brilliant man

As he reads Wilde, the hair on the back of my neck stands! Just beautiful!
Fun fact Vincent Price was actually my Nana's cousin.
My Nan who unfortunately passed in 1999 told me about him when I was younger. I never got to meet him but my mother did. He seems like he was an amazing man. :)

The best f´n 50-80 horror actor, Vincent Price!!!
+romu90 Yes, still great in his from the crypt dramatic monologue in Michael Jackson's '80s song Thriller.
that oscar wilde poem was amazing. Price was truly one of a kind. It seems almost insulting to call him an actor. He was so much more.
He was marvelous.
I found a movie called " Champagne for Ceasar " with Vincent and Ronald Coleman, it was amazing watching Price in a comedy role .
He was hilarious and devilish as only Vincent can be .
Phenomenal Actor
what a delightful man he was.. charming, amusing, talented, and even handsome.

Vincent often doesn't get the credit he deserves for his enormous body of work on stage and screen. RIP you amazing artist and gentleman.
In his age, he remembers the poem like he did it yesterday.
He truly was one of the greatest people to ever live. The world needs more people like Vincent Price.
I'm agree. magnetic voice.
God bless Vincent Price....a great actor.....& a gentleman at all times with a beautiful sense of humor.......
Vincent Christopher and peter were amazing actors sadly missed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Price gives what is arguably his funniest performance in the 1950 film Champaign for Ceasar with Ronald Coleman. A must for Price fans.
Incredibly cool to hear him talk about Christopher Lee.
Im glad to say i was named after him,and grew up watching his many various movies....a TRUE legend!
Easily my favourite actor! Simply superb.
Michael Jacksons Thriller track, the Epic Laugh.... Long Live Vincent Price!
Fantastically intelligent..and funny..not many actors are nowadays!! And he understands his craft...
