Vincent Price and Peter Lorre were in 3 Roger Corman films together, and the two shone as a hilariously odd couple. I would gladly watch their chemistry in any film! So here's a compilation of all my favorite bits of them.

Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?
I haven't the foggiest 🤣🤣🤣 That's from Alice in Wonderland, isn't it???
@@twiliaarts1939 That's Right!!!
😎👍👍
Madhatter: WHY IS A WHAT?!
March Hare: SHE'S GONE RAVIN' MAD!
Alice: WELL, IT WAS YOUR SILLY RIDDLE YOU JUST SAID.
Yes, that's from Alice In Wonderland.
@@Collager I love Alice in Wonderland! ❤️
Because Poe wrote on both of them!🤣
"I NEVER confessed! ... They just *proved* it!" That one got me rolling.
Only Peter Lorre could deliver that line so casually and yet so devastatingly to the audience.
caught me so off-guard.
absolutely perfect delivery.
so casual that you never stood a change.
Makes sense these two were cracking jokes at Bela Lugosi's funeral.
Peter Lorre said "Shouldn't we stab a stake through his heart ❤️?"
I love that imagery in my mind lol
Thats just a myth, neither Lorre, Price nor Karloff (sadly) came to Belas Funeral
@@einmaligefilmecke8117That’s Vincent Price, not Boris Karloff.
@@owilliams1031 They said Price too, just added Karloff to the list
It seems odd that such masters of horror and suspense could be so good at comedy, yet it also makes perfect sense. They all rely on a good sense of timing, they just apply it in different ways.
Something I realized recently is while both genres would be loathed to admit it, comedy and horror are two sides of the same coin.
Comedy is probably the hardest film genre to create. It not only relies on good timing but convincing actors. It’s the reason why so many iconic comedians are also incredible actors
Leslie Nielson is another great example. Just watch his section in the original Creepshow movie.
@@chadsmith8966 I would say the genres understand and accept their similarities. as examples, allow me to present:
Jordon Peale, a famous and accomplished comic who makes some of the most shocking horror films.
Price and Lorre, as demonstrated above.
The Ghostbusters franchise (if we ignore the abomination created by Pail Feig. Every rule needs an exception)
@@andrewdreasler428 agreed.
Another tidbit, it is also equally true the same things can cause both comedy and horror to fail. Talking down and treat the audience as stupid. Relying heavy-handedly on gross or shock value. Sex; explicit, graphic sexual content. A general sense of mean spiritedness and lack of awareness. You see these other genres as well but more prominently in Comedy And Horror.
The Feig Ghostbusters was is practically a textbook example
Been watching these movies again and again since I was 10 years old. I am now 73.
That's incredible! I watched them when I was younger, about 12, but didn't see them again until I re-discovered Peter Lorre just last year. I'm now 19! I have a feeling I'll be watching them again and again for as long as you have
oh my god...
when did you start?
🤣🤣🤣
This whole thread has made my 37yr old Lorre and Price lovinn heart very happy.
I haven’t seen any of this stuff since I was young enough to actually be scared… in the 1970s

I love anything with Vincent Price, but pairing him with Peter Lorre was pure brilliance 😂
Peter Lorre - the human pug :)
That's... kinda true and I don't know how I feel about it. 😂
Or chihuahua, since Ren was based off of Lorre
@@KMakoENVtuber I ALWAYS FORGET ABOUT THAT LOL
Ouch 😅
@@twiliaarts1939 Well, he seems to have known how to capitalize on it. 😄
The pairing of Vincent and Peter was pure genius.
They have the chemistry of an old married couple. So cute!😊
"Ooh, you dirty old man!"😂😂😂
That's one they couldn't get away with in the Harry Potter movies!
Oh my gosh 🤣🤣🤣
Price and Lorre were a perfect combo, they should have made more macabre comedies.
They were gonna star in their own detective show, but the pilot was never picked up.
The Raven is an underappreciated classic from Roger Corman. It may only be loosely adapted from Poe's original poem, but it still works.
I remembered the part where Price and Lorre folded the covers on the coffin, and then Lorre just flings it behind him. I could hear the "yeet" coming up. Nice touch.
Also one of Jack Nicholson's earliest film's
Horror Camp is one of the best subgenres fr
For sure!!
Definitely
There must have been a lot of takes where they just broke down laughing. I can imagine they were constantly trying to crack each other up. A lot of talent there.
All three of these movies were great. There's something strange and wonderful about how these guys could be both terrifying and hilarious.
Very true! It's incredible when actors can both scare you and make you cackle!!
"You - you killed her!" "You notice everything, don't you?"
Comedy of Terrors, one my all time favorites.
Maybe I'll watch it sometime
thank you. recently watched but couldnt place the name
"Do we drive a stake through his heart just in case?" - Lorre at Bela Lugosi's funeral, joined by Price.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Raven is a perfect adaptation. Everyone should watch it.
Agreed.
They added a wizard battle, just as Poe intended.
@@c.f.enriquez9334 Yes it's obvious Poe had meant for the wizard battle to take place in his story.
I'd say it's hardly an adaptation. Apart from a line here and there, it doesn't bear any resemblance to Poe's poem.
@@ringozeitgeist - I believe that was the joke.
RIP Roger Corman
Quote the Raven: “How the hell should I know?”
"I never confessed. They just proved it."
I’ve always liked Peter Lorre’s voice.
And his charming Austrian accent.
He's excellent in Arsenic & Old Lace and especially The Maltese Falcon
"Who Dat who Dat" 😂
"You notice everything, don't you?" Timeless!!! 😂😂😂
You have great taste, I never would have imagined seeing this as a compilation.
Thanks! I noticed a serious lack of Peter Lorre/Vincent Price content on RUclips so I just had to, lol!
Pure genius (again) for A.l.P and Corman to team all these veterans of the classic 1930's together having the well deserved time of their lives and still leave us wanting for more. Great job, Thanks for posting!
It must have been such a blast making that movie!
These two would make a good Burke and Hare.
Anytime I hear Vincent Price, all I can think of is Thriller.
Comedy of Terrors is one of my favourite movies... Everyone is at their sardonic and comic best in it. And yes, Price and Lorre are chaos and I'm here for it 😆 The whole Poe series peaked when they got those two together.
Comedy of Terrors is pure chef’s kiss.
They were a great pair . Of actors.
This is such a fun movie to watch, makes one wonder why these great actors rarely were allowed to show that they all could do comedy and do it well. Rathbone was a perfect straight man. 😂
Rathbone was the straight man in The Court Jester as well, another great comedy.
What an excellent duo! Random and hilarious... Even when Basil and Boris are in the midst of them.😂😂😂 Brilliant work as always. 🎉
Thank you!!
And Jack Nicholson standing in the doorway at 6:36, (and later, tied up)
@@frederickschneider3165 Really? That's something. I never saw a movie with him. But, I heard he's a good actor.
@@Collager Yeah, I've heard that about him. This appearance was at the beginning of a seemingly long career where he worked in several more. Try "Easy Rider"(early), "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"(middle), and "A Few Good Men"(late).
@@frederickschneider3165 Or the one my dad likes to talk about: The Shining.
just pure joy
Peter is just such a little guy... I love him sm
Nice to see someone with an appreciation for these legends.
These are two actors who every time I watch them you can tell they are having a blast. :)
It's a pity both actors are dead, it would've been great for these two to get there own tv show, set in Victorian London, chasing Jack the Ripper, played by Kenneth Williams.
That would have been absolutely amazing.
Classic Disney horror if Disney made horror by Roger Corman
Which was the style at the time...
these two are like living cartoon characters
WHAT THE FREGGIN’ HECK IS GOING ON?!???🤣🤣 I never expected these two would be this chaotic together, and I’m living for it!!!🤣🤣 also you nailed that “Spooky” intro! And idk why but this 6:00 line had me ded💀😆 and the part where Peter Lorre steps on Vincent Price’s hands and he’s like “What did your shoes step on”🥴 and many more!
My favorite part is when Peter gasps and Vincent goes "Did you speak??" 🤣🤣🤣 That part just kills me every time. And thank you!!! The spooky intro was fun to do, hehehe!
see the raven (1963), it's a blast!
Thanks for posting these. Super stuff, very silly but also very entertaining.
I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you muchly!
These two coined the phrase "Who Dat!"
So ahead of their time... 😂
This has been one of my most favorite movies since childhood. My grandmother and I would watch it every time ir was on tv. Now I have it on disc and watch it with my family. ♥️
Loved the quick nod to Boris Karloff. 👍
Those movies were hilarious! Lorre and Price were an amazing comedteam.
Ok but really though the question we should all ask is WhOoo DAt
I 100% agree
YES!!! I love these two so much🥹💕
Me too, they're so funny!!!
The Comedy of Terrors was hilarious.
The Raven was one of my favorite films as a kid. Plus it features and 18 year old Jack Nicholson
My sister LOVES The Raven 🐦⬛
I'd forgotten how funny/good these two were! Thank you! 😂
My greatest pleasure! Glad you enjoyed!
I've never confessed, they just proved it. 😂
Abbot & Costello for the spooky kids
That's funny XD
Both were masters of their craft
Thanks for these. I loved these movies as a kid.
My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Both Peter Lorre and Vincent Price were such versatile actors, they could both do drama and comedy so well.
Yup a young Jack Nicholsan in The Raven.
Jack Nichols, with the falsetto scream. 😂😂😂
My mind went straight to the gutter at 7:12 - 7:24
I'm literally CRAUGHING (Crying + Laughing) 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
CRAUGHING???? I'm gonna start using that 🤣🤣
Okay, that tears it. I need a copy of this.
In Tales of Terror, they had a bunch of black cats audition. There's some delightful photos of them playing with the cats, including Vincent trying to balance a cat on Peter's head :D
I've actually seen those, they're so adorable!!
1:01 me after tasting something spicy
LOL honestly XD
😂😂
I cant help but die laughing when when peter lorre knocks over the candle and says
"At leasts its better in the dark"
And vicent price says
"What is, decapitation?"
This is great.
Wish I had lived then! Watching them on the telly would have been amazing 😄
i've never clicked on a video faster 😂❤
Oh boy 😂
I can't with this. EVERY GASP from Peter Lorre made me laugh so hard. This was comedy gold. LOL XD But I'm offended that you put real footage of me fighting a spider on the internet. >:c
I'm sorry, I couldn't help it, it was too good to pass up.
@@twiliaarts1939 😠😠😠
Wow this is delightful
Glad you think so!
I love Peter Lorre.
Well, this looks fun. I'll have to look up the movies!
These folks were actually very funny
This looks like my kind of ridiculous chaos. I've watched plenty of their movies but never these.
Also let's hear it for the Peter Lorre sized girls lol
I just recently watched the films between Peter Lorre and Vincent price and I couldn’t keep myself from smiling and laughing 😆😂
They're chaotic masterpieces 😂 Which one's your favorite?
Never thought I'd see the day
"Comedy of Terrors" is SO good!
Vincent Price , Peter Lorre Boris Karloff , Lon Chaney , Lon Chaney Jr , Bela Lugosi
Watch these guys ever since I was a young kid now nothing scares me
Such fun! Bless them all!
Watch these movies over and over again. Because nothing else compares great time in hollywood, unfortunately, not the same anymore.
With bonus Boris Karloff!
many of these gags i recall from old warner bros cartoons before they were considered too spicy
0:58 is me trying to get hyped to start a project or go to work. XDD
These two certainly do like being a bunch of goofballs don’t they?😂😂😂😂
Both great actors but Peter Lorre is definitely the true master of film craft. “M” was a tour de force!
"M" is one of my favorite movies in the world, it's so amazing!!!
Great movies. The raven I watched yesterday 😅
good stuff
What a perfecttly cute couple of old creeps.
If Lord of the Rings had been made back in the day, these two would have been a great Saruman / Wormtongue duo. A little less comedic than these clips, maybe, but they definitely have the energy for the roles.
"I wished she picked a better song 😬"I wish her vocal chords would snap 😑"
That is literally my favorite line.
i loved those movies!. why won't somebody put them on the air again?. if you can find "plan nine from outer space" you should be able to find these gems!
Every queer friend duo is like this.
02:06 so that's how you drink 🍷 red wine.
Aerated in mouth.
Very funny comp
Glad you enjoyed!!!
Nevermore.
Jack Nicholson popping in here and there.
The Macabre Laurel and Hardy 😂
Love that XD
5:25
You can definitely say the same thing with my own sister
I guess it's just a sister thing lol
@@twiliaarts1939What if you are the sister?
@@bezoticallyyours83 I can assure you that I am not XD Spiders surprisingly don't bother me. I'm much more scared of flying bugs.
@@twiliaarts1939 Sorry, I was talking about myself. Except other people hafta come in and do "the fighting" for me. Lol
@@twiliaarts1939 mosquitos are pretty gross, and one breed of roaches fly in some parts of the world which would freak me out
I’m fucking dying! 😂
Basically Laurel and Hardy if the duo were dark and morbid.
