It's not actually M is real, if you squint at the blurred textures it's actually called Maternal Star, an opt reference towards luigi's maternal status over the jolly green dinosaur, Yoshi.

That still can't falsify my claim. But yea forgot about that game. Although I don't think it makes sense that they have to alter the story so much. I prefer the original Odyssey better.
