    I still own an original 2001 T-Max 500, with a Malossi variator. Its been utterly reliable.

    It does sound so much better now. 👌
    It's funny, I used to frown at putting fuel in the car. But for the bikes and scooter it didn't seem as painful. You just know a good time was around the corner.

      I agree. I look at my pile of gas receipts later and think, "I need to ride less". At the time, I just want that time on 2 wheels and good sense be damned. 😁

    Hi Always enjoy watching your Yamaha TMax500 performance mods videos. Have you consider doing a video on Malossi performance front and rear shock upgrades compared to stock? That would be a great informative video cuz there are none online. Thanks for your consideration.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  8 месяцев назад

      I think the front pre-load kit (is there are full shock?) and the rear shock are $1000 or more combined. I'm pleased with the handling as-is and TBH a video like this makes me $10-20 for a week or two of time filming and editing. If I ever need to replace my rear shock, you can bet I'll do a video though.

      Hi Thanks for the reply. Yeah Malossi suspension parts definitely not cheap especially the rear shock which I guess explains the lack of videos regarding it on RUclips. Keep making great informative videos and hope your views and subscribers increases. Thanks@@49ccscoot

    I believe those tires that you mentioned are the original brand for that bike. The one I'm riding have about 8,000 miles and still good. The front one is new, with only 500 milies on it. Yoshimura exhaust, 18 grams sliders and malossi clutch. Everything else is stock

    5:15 It’s crazy to me after dealing with 50cc scoots and my 800mm belt just how close the pulleys are on these large cc machines. Damn. Any misalignment would be bad.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  Год назад

      Imagine the space it takes up with these pulleys separated and how long the belt has to be. There's really no reason to separate them in this design. In the small scoots it ends up being a function of how far back they want the rear wheel and you'll see scoots with larger wheels use longer belts than their smaller wheeled counterparts in many cases.
      When you get your hands on this CVT in person after being used to 49cc-150cc stuff, the main thing that stands out is how massive the pulleys are.

      @@49ccscoot you must type like the wind Brent.
      I’m trying to get another machine, the silver wing just didn’t click 100%, I have another quite different machine in my sights, waiting on the owner for time to see it. It’s closer to Ryan than to me. 😞 Just a long drive. If I get it I’ll be up against that learning curve again.

    @49ccscoot do you think a tmax 500 could be a good daily drive scooter or in total of costs on maintenance a pcx 125 would still be better (I got a 125 pcx 2017 with 70 000 km which I use like 60 km per day?)

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  Год назад

      If the PCX works for your daily riding, the TMAX probably isn't going to make sense financially. The smaller bike is going to win if budget is the goal.
      If you leave it stock, or close, the maintenance doesn't have to be bad. I hear that they're expensive to have the dealer service due to panel removal to get to basically anything, but I do my own work so I don't really know.

    • @joaofury3

      @@49ccscoot Thank you for the answer I also do the maintenance on all my bikes/car and so but the parts should be more expensive in tmax

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  Год назад +1

      @@joaofury3 The belt can be pretty expensive, but that lasts quite a long time when stock or with just lighter sliders in the variator. Most of the other maintenance parts aren't much different than other bikes.

      @@49ccscoot compared to those newer tmax models tmax 530 or 560 is the 500 much different?

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  Год назад +1

      @@joaofury3 We don't get the new ones here in the US, but from videos that I've watched it looks like the newer ones can have a lot more features, they are belt drive for the rear wheel, they have a little more power and they seem to have a better tune to keep RPM up for improved acceleration instead of being so sluggish like a stock TMAX 500. Otherwise, I think service is pretty similar.
