    Hi great video - im using it to learn Maya better. At 22:22 you click Mesh > Combine, but when i do it the shape goes all weird?

      Rotate it 45 degrees on the Y axis :)

      you simply click on the object and press 3 which previews a smooth mesh. if you want to permanently transform it to the smooth shape, go to modify > convert > smooth preview to polygons.
