Soooo we made some body armor out of tire chains and epoxy. Will it work?
Rifle used was a 7.62 x 54R Mosin
LTM 308 and the Bushmaster BA50

Greetings from the UK Guys you should make one with the same frame alternating with layer 5 mm mild steel then a layer of ceramic tiles repeat that until it’s full obviously use resin to hold it all together.

Remember my sand and epoxy armor. Fast and easy to build, just want to see if the resin make it stronger then concrede.

It goes through everything.

Armor suggesion: Metal scrapings - like from turning cnc etc - from a machine shop in resin. Maybe add some magnesium scrapings for extra sparkle ...

this is like throwing rocks at an icy lake, awesome every time 😅give us some very angled (like 60 -70*) multi layered tempered steel plates next! like slicing a lasagne, angling the slices and piling the pieces on top of each other 👨🔬

12''x12''x6'' inch (wall) using plywood and 2x6 (studs) filled with 1/2" ball bearings and maybe another stacked tight with ceramic tiles. I bet both will stop the 50 multiple times.

Try shooting some die cast models. i think it would be interesting to see how they react in comparison to their real counterparts, and i dont think anyone on youtube has
You could try mixing super strong fishing line lengths in with the chain and epoxy. Just stir it all together then mould.

I know this next suggestion is slightly dangerous, but craft knife blades are really brittle and light, so layers of them instead of a ceramic on the face, might work really well to break up even AP rounds.

Just take ceramic tyles and cloth to make body armor

You should try bottlecaps. Lol. When I was doing private security work on the Turkish border, there were these guys that had taken epoxy used in yacht construction, because lots of yachts are built in Antalya now like Bering, Damen, Turquoise, Numarine, Mengi Yay, Magnolia, etc. But they filled the epoxy into bags, placed in BB's or bearings in there and then stuck those bags into a crossfit vest or some other type of vest, and then wore a simple H rig or U rig over top. They theory was that the BB's would break up the round and cause it to come apart. We told them that spelling would probably kill them better than the bullet would. Those bearings getting broken off at high speed will mess you up, plus mixed with jagged chunks of epoxy. They tried selling us one for $150.00, but I didn't buy it. Now kimd of wish I did so I could have sent it to you. I don't have any contacts over there anymore either to get one. Maybe you can replicate it, but I think it's been done already.

the best would be a steel box (container) with the back side mostly filled with that stuff and on top, inside the box, a ceramic plate
how many ceramic plates/tiles you can go through

Welding hardened steel will likely make it mild steel. Or glass. Depends on the steel.
Swather knife sections may make good armor. Use made in the USA or Germany ones though, the rest are likely soft like butter.
