- An often humous approach to the care and feeding of a Charles Goodman home.
Repairing mid-twentieth-century materials and details that were once cutting edge is challenging more than a half-century following installation. This session focuses on appropriate measures for maintaining, repairing, and renovating the interior and exterior materials and finishes of a mid-twentieth-century house, and what can happen if maintenance is repeatedly delayed. The panelists, Robert Fina and Michael Shapiro, bring different and complementary experiences to this discussion. Fina, as a builder and contractor and long-time Hollin HIlls resident, is intimately familiar with the costs and trade-offs in caring for a glass walled house. Shapiro, a realtor, brings his understanding of what buyers want and what they fear. Moderator: Elisabeth Lardner
