    Great episode for a great movie!
    Not only was there a glaring omission for the Gameboy and C64 ports, but Batman Returns never got a arcade port or a pinball machine in which Batman '89 and Forever did. A Konami arcade port taken from the SNES version would've been incredible.

    It's funny that you mention you never saw an actual batman cabinet when the game was so big. In the UAE where I grew up they only had one singular cabinet, and only briefly (along with a road runner cabinet) in the very early 90s in Sindbad's Wonderland in Dubai. I am not sure how long it was there, but I did get to play it a few times. I don't know how far I made it, but I think I made it past the chemical plant and not much beyond.

      To be honest it's not that great of a game so perhaps if it was more popular than I would've seen it. At the time I probably went to four or five different bowling alleys and five or six big arcades. Never Saw it back in 1990 And to this day have never seen it in person

    Great video. I was stunned at how great this game played, looked and sounded back in the day - I even didn't mind paying the $80 for the game. It still holds up well today. I like that there's a sound test and music test option in the menu. On the Stungun boss, when you first regain control of Batman, you can use Batman's grappling hook to grab the wall behind the boss to pull part of the cement wall against the boss's head, which causes extra damage.

    • @PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries
      @PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries  2 года назад

      Yes the sound test really helps with experiencing the music whenever you want. I should have included that author grappling hook and grabbing the wall which as you well know was straight out of the movie :-) this is one of my favorite Batman games of all time. Thanks

    Watching this again helped with some as questions I always wondered. How Batman Returns license started with Atari, then Sega and Konami finally retained it. I wondered why didn't Konami didn't have the license during the Genesis/Megadrive run. I didn't know that a limited licensing window could be done like that.

    • @PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries
      @PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries  8 месяцев назад

      I don't think it started with Atari it was just a license handed out to different developers. For some reason Sega did not get a full license for the game which is really strange considering how big of a company they were at the time
