Thanks so much for the abuela shout out!!! I’m single Gram helping my single daughter raise her 7 yo boy!!! He’s the light of my life and loves to help me cook!!
I am SO going to make this!!! I’ve wanted an authentic Mexican salsa recipe. My Mexican friends have these beautiful steamer pots. They put their tomatoes, chilies, onions in with other foods then would blend at the end. But never learned their recipe! I honor their culture so much! Thank you!!
Who would have guessed, I needed to fry my salsa after I blended it. Finally I made salsa just like my favorite Mexican restaurant serves. I owe it all to you girls. Thank you ladies
Steph always knows those extra little steps that puts things over the top! What a treasure to all of us. Hello to the beautiful Cloud behind the scenes!
you mean like putting al the ingredients in the oven on broil for 10 minutes.. like she sometimes does but this time no.. weird.. If any salsa would be better with a broil of the onions nf tomato garlic. etc. chilis.. this would be it.. BTW I make this all the time.. and I always broil before the blender.. actually I saute my chili de abol and garlic in oil on the stove also before. blender..
I've made this four times in the past four weeks. My family LOVES it. My husband wanted it chunky so I just held back four of the tomatoes and diced them, added to pot after blending the rest. He puts it on everything! Thanks so much!
I just tried this recipe and LOVE IT! I did make a few slight modifications - added cilantro, black pepper, and scallions. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make, and I love both the visual appeal and the taste of the finished product. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Steph and Cloud ☁️ my name is Martha and I’m from Arizona and I just want to tell you how amazing you guys are I love you guys my sisters and I all get along as beautifully as you do so when I watch you guys it just makes my heart smile. You’re recipes are delicious and easy to follow with the detail you provide thank you for that mis amores I know it’s a lot of work but it’s worth it. My family loves all the recipes I have learned from you keep up the amazing work.
This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. It's just like the salsa rojas they have at the local taco shops in SoCal that I have used on carne asada, pollo asado, chorizo, and breakfast burritos. I doubled the recipe and froze them into 1 cup blocks to pull out and use later when needed. It thawed perfectly just like it was made fresh. Hint: Just like all foods, freeze as soon as you can as that will give you a longer thawed refrigerator life before you need to discard it if you don't use it all. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
There is only only channel I go to for Mexican. This is the place!!! Fresh tomatoes and jalapeños from the garden. Time to make salsa. Stephanie rocks!! I just picked poblanos. I'll roast them on the grill at work tomorrow and make the recipe you suggested.
This is delicious salsa! My boyfriend loved the first batch so much that he asked me to make it again, which I did yesterday. He loved the extra garlic, since I used 6 cloves of garlic for this second batch. It's so nice to have the mason jar full of this salsa in the refrigerator to enjoy all week long! Thank you so much for your videos ❤
For less mess I started making mine in the air fryer, I just brush each side with oil, and then cut them in 4, and place in air fryer and they are excellent!😋
I have been making all your recipes, we all love them! I have a family of 16 that I make dinner for every night. Plus my son and his friend come by every night for dinner too. And on Fridays, I take my sons crew dinner at his job. That’s only another 15 ish. I love to cook. I’m American Indian but my soul is Mexican! Love your recipes!
I think I've been subbed to you for 4 or 5 years now and it's been a while since I watched one of your recipes but I'm glad to see you're still killing it! So close to a million subs! I hope you get there by the end of the year.
💙 ... This is close to my Late Nannas 'Salsa in a pinch' ! She would use Arbol or even Pequin packs from the pizza + Tomatoes+ Garlic + Onion all mashed together in the Mortar & Pestle !! Basically whatever's left in the veggie drawer that needs to be used... It really works in a pinch for tacos or chips esp if made early & left in fridge to come together. But I think I'll try the cooked method now !! Thx 😉 !! • ❤️➕🙏🏽 From NM ...
This recipe was so easy to follow I prepared it right along with Steph and boom done ✅ right along with her thank you for this amazingly delicious and easy to follow recipe
What a great mom you are! Its amazing how much love and thoughtfulness goes into each of your dishes. Your family and friends are truly blessed to have you. I only hope that they appreciate you while they have you. Thanks for the new recipe! Can't wait to try it! 😋
I’m going try this this weekend (with margaritas of course)! I would love to know where to get the cute plates with the salsa cup. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes!
Oh I so want to thank you every time I watch you I learn something different something new I was married for 20 years to Hispanic man that come from Michoacan and I never knew some of the things that you've done and I love it these tortillas that you heat it up and Rose I mean kind of roasted them to get the moist that is such a awesome idea I
I made this today with a few modifications for personal taste. I went with 4 large serranos, 25 chile de arbol, 6 cloves of garlic and cilantro at the end. Other than that I followed the recipe, it was amazing.
Hello Stephanie & Cloud!🖐 Fantastic video!👏 Thanks for sharing your salsa roja recipe and tips for getting crunchy tortilla chips..yum!❤ Blessings to you and family!💝 🦋8/16/2022🦋
Just made this salsa and the chips too. Pretty good for as quick and simple as it is, perfect for using up a bunch of garden tomatoes in a hurry. So much easier than scalding and peeling all the tomatoes.
If you want to dry out a bunch of corn tortillas before frying, lay them on a cookie sheet and place in the oven on 350, for 10-15 minutes. I fry all my own chips. I also have my own seasoning for them. These are 100% better than store bought. The salsa recipe is perfect. It is the same one I use.
I fry my chips until they are slightly brown. I love the flavor and as for my seasoning, it is Tajin, chili powder, ground Cumin. Garlic and onion powder and a little ground Mexican oregano and salt to taste. I have made this for kids , grand kids and now great grands. When I make the salsa, I have to make it by the gals. My grands love it for after school snack. I also add cilantro to my salsa.
Oh my gosh I was just thinking about how come grandparents don’t get a lot of attention because I take care of my grandson thank you for that I love you for that
Wonderful video and great corn chip tip! I love love love Mexican food. Native Coloradan...we got it here (because we have Mexican people here, we learned from them) 💕
Hello. So I absolutely love the avocado green sauce from El Pollo regio. Do you happen to know how to make that? Thanks for all you do. I love your show!
I just made this recipe and let me just say that it’s fantastic. I mean I didn’t add the jalapeño lol and took out a lot of the seeds out of the dry chili and the pepper but oh man. I freaking love it. Thank you for sharing it with us . ❤️
Okay. first a little kissing up. Luv the videos. I have seen six in a row when I should have been doing something else. I love how natural the videos seem. Makes me feel like I'm part of the family. Bravo. I sometimes use a Comal or cast iron pan to roast or char the tomatoes prior to putting them in a blender along with everything else you used. Does cooking them the way you do alter the flavor considerably from mine? Well. Not mine. I didn't event it! "OH." And I'm not going to say anything about the lack of cilantro. Can't have cilantro in everything. Thank U Stephanie
If you wanted to keep the salsa longer, could you put it in a Mason jar while still hot and let it seal with a lid and seal, like in canning?! Wouldn't that make it shelf stable as long as you hear the pop from the seal? I hope so, but thanks for the recipe, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to eat this up within a week!! Love watching all of your creations! 😍❤️
I was scrolling the comments, looking for instructions to can this. I hope she’ll answer, this time. I’m about to make salsa, but would love the can this recipe.
Your Salsa Roma was super easy to make and delicious! I only had 6 Roma’s so I added a can of Hunt’s Whole Tomatoes. We could eat Mexican food everyday. Next on the agenda are your Enchiladas!
Omgosh! You have perfect timing! My momma and I were just talking about our favorite restaurants salsa and wondering how they make our favorite yummy crunchy appetizer. Thank you so much! Now I'm gonna say, "aahhhh!" 💜💜💜
My favorite local restaurant has a red salsa that is so delicious I could drink it by the glass to be honest. I will have to try this and adjust it until it matches because I must have it in my life daily!
heyo I made it. we tried it and it's my favorite salsa i've ever made. I used 3 serranos so i'm crying (but they are tears of joy haha) thank you so much
I have never cooked salsa! I always toast everything--tomatoes, garlic, onions, chiles, then that goes in the blender. Top with finely chopped onions and CILANTRO! No lime until served. Cannot have salsa without cilantro! Great suggestions with the chips in toasting first :)
i've always seen recipes where you cook down the tomatoes, pepper, onion, and garlic first, and then blend it. i've never seen it done the other way around. i definitely will have to try this next summer (my veggie and herb garden is winding down for the year now)
Thanks so much for the abuela shout out!!! I’m single Gram helping my single daughter raise her 7 yo boy!!! He’s the light of my life and loves to help me cook!!

This recipe is SO good. Used 3 jalapenos since I didn't have a serrano on hand, but everything else was the same. The whole family devoured it!

Was thinking same thing!😊Cilantro, blk pepper.. n a TINY bit of scallions..😅😊
I think I would make the salsa a day before so I don’t have to wait for it to cool. I like my chips hot or warm.
Chiles de arbol are my favorite chiles of them all.
Margarita night ❤️ Now I’m definitely going to make it!
