My biggest complaint about Vegas is the never ending road construction and terrible drivers.
"the weather is amazing here" is an insane statement to make
I’d personally take the dry heat over humid sticky summers any day. So for anyone coming in from abroad who have experienced the truly sticky summers, the heat here is nothing and that’s coming from me, who will still complain about any heat above 70 degrees. I still go out in black jeans in the summers here, you’ll be fine.
This is an inaccurate statement.
120 degrees with low humidity still cooks your body like brownies.
@@jemeljordan-butler4510
120° is rare... In fact that is the RECORD hottest temperature EVER recorded in HISTORY in Vegas. Don't believe me? Check out the climate data on Wikipedia.
I've personally been in Vegas and thought out loud "wow, this is a really nice warm day, I wonder what temperature it is... 70°?" I checked... and it was 100°! Your sweat actually serves its intended purpose in a dry climate, where it cools you naturally through evaporative cooling. And this is coming from someone that usually can't stand any heat over 80° here in North Carolina thanks to our humidity.
Now, if you want to be more persuasive and accurate/realistic, you could talk about how the mean high temperature recorded daily for the months of both July and August is over 100°, and for June and September, its over 90°. You could argue those temperatures are too crazy to do X and so they limit you because you can't do X, but please dont exaggerate.
True dry heat is better than heat with humidity. But black jeans in 110 degree heat? Nah, that’s just crazy talk.
I know I'll get some serious hate but here are my reasons for disliking Las Vegas.
1.)The unfriendliness of the locals.I've greeted my neighbors & gotten nothing back but silence & avoidance.
2.)The heat.I don't like the feeling of my skin searing as I step out my front door.
3.)The lack of a diversfiied economy. You got casinos/retail running the entire job market.Education is not valued here.
4.)Education,vegas has been at the rock bottom of it for decades & it's sad there's been no improvement.
5.)The bad drivers/street racing. Many pedestrians/drivers are senselessly killed every year due to a lack of law enforcement patrol & stopping drunk/high drivers from having their licenses revoked & arrested for breaking traffic laws,& when they are caught,it's a judicial slap on the wrist.Just doesn't make sense to me.Those are my reasons, anyway.
Construction, trash, poverty, depression, traffic, outrages fleecing of tourists etc.
Guy in the brown hat is keeping it real! He and I are alike in so many ways.
It's like an oven during the summer and my electrical bill is now $500+ during the summer and it's always windy. Other than that we have great weather, we avoid all of the weather disasters that seem to hit a lot of the country every year.
Do A/Cs run constantly in the summer, even through the night?
When it's really hot it seems to run most of the day and off and on through the night.
How big is your house?
I've come here from Arkansas, and I gotta say I'm okay with the heat, but I am extremely happy that I don't have to live with the fear of tornado season anymore. That is one downer thought that I've always lived with since I was a kid and learned we're always in the path during the spring.
I really like your vids! You are doing a great job!
Thank you so much! Having fun but it’s a big learning curve for sure. 😃
Having lived in Henderson 2 years BEWARE the 3-4 months in the summer is Unbearable!!
I miss living in Vegas. Moving back next month
CALIFORNIANS DESTROYED VEGAS

Fun video! I liked that you talked to a variety of people for different perspectives. Also, thank you for addressing the ski … I was wondering what that was all about every time you came back to him 🤣
Great video ❤Thank you for watching!❤❤
Nevada is ranked 49th in education.
And Hawaii is 50th. I think.
The students are dumb
And first in ignorance
@@1kenodave1 agreed. I couldn’t how people in Vegas function. I felt like I was in the 1960s when I was there.
@@1kenodave1 and first in reverse racism
Las Vegas kinda reminds me of Honolulu, Hawaii. As far to live there. It's beautiful with spectacular beaches, it's laid-back and things to do. But the cons are, it's very hot and humid, expensive since everything has to be shipped, you're in small islands and of course you're limited what to do, cause as we know it's on the gigantic pacific ocean and nowhere to go as far nearby, and you can get clastaphoic (island fever.)
Obviously different from Las Vegas, but the same idea. It's nice and awesome to go for a vacation, but not to live there.
I appreciate your comment and perspective! I think there are pro's and con's to living in any city/location!
Coming over from Johnny’s channel. I love poker but I also love seeing cool places and properties. Following you both is a win-win 😂
Awesome! Thank you for following!!
Love the way you ended the video and you realized you forgot to tell people to subscribe and than is no better closing than closing with some margarita 🎉
Did that old guy with the baseball cap give his interview with a bloody nose and a blood-stained shirt?!? lol
southwest cities(e.g. phoenix, abq, las vegas) have something like a dry heat and sun-blinding summer
which is so much better than the sticky wet and suffocating summer in the eastern half of the entire country(even new england)
Moved to Vegas in '93, left in '15 for Pahrump, reasons, crime ( feel sfare where one can carry a safe defense weapon ) , over priced entertainment, traffic, California politics, neighbors close enough to borrow a roll of tee pee out your window, casinos not fun anymore, only go down now days to Sam's, Red Rock Harley, the Leatherneck club and to visit family, other wise head north in the winter to Utah to ride and future north or Arizona in the winter to ride, other wise avoid the place period.
You sound like a very specific type lol
@@thomaslawrence9324 And what type is that per-say? fire away if you're man enough let's hear it and I will respond withy honest answers
I grew up in Summerlinn. Vegas is really hot. I don’t think people REALLY understand how hot it gets. Vegas also doesn’t have much positive history. Other places have really interesting historical locations or even traditions but Vegas doesn’t care about anything but money to be honest. Great leagues for kids though as far as sports and youth activities. Be ready to meet a ton of really strange parents… I’ll just leave that up for personal interpretation.
💯
the ocean is a 'couple hour drive'? Too hot for summers 15 weeks for me. Urban sprawl is pretty bad, no public trans....the Strip is a tourist ripoff, locals never go near it unless someone visiting. Pluses?, good eating, the desert for the rest of the year. Lake Mead.
Lasted 18 months and hated it! Water was so bad made my hair fall out! Lived in Green Valley Ranch, Henderson. Strip malls everywhere, car culture, masterplan communities with no charm. Make sure you have 5,000 sq foot home because you can't leave the house for 4 months with 115 degrees. Worst healthcare system I have ever experienced. Everyone I met regretted leaving California. I've been in Santa Monica, CA for 4 years now and I'll take my 1800 sq ft condo on Ocean Drive over those ugly big box houses in LV.
The apartment managers I talked to said the bus system is good, especially if you want to go to the strip, and the electric bills usually do not exceed $100 a month. Many of the people on the Yelp reviews complain about bugs, but the apartment managers claim that pest control makes this a non-issue. Your thoughts?
About time! Been here 18 yrs!
Windstorms and F1....yup
Worst place I have ever lived. If I had the money I'd be back in Solvang as quickly as I could pack. I refer to Vegas as "The Island Of Desperate Souls."
Accurate

That Cali dude gotta go back 😂

Come to North town Las Vegas, come to low income places in. Vegas and see what they say fr.
New subscriber here! Great channel for those considering the big move! Thanks for sharing!
It’s helpful. 😂
Thank you for making this video. Would you ask people the way of avoiding the Heat? I am going to move to Vegas on June and also need an advice for home shopping. Thanks. 😇
Happy to help! Please reach out when you’re ready!
The only ways to avoid the heat would be to stay in air conditioning (home, car, casinos, etc.), spend time at the pool, and run your errands in the late afternoon/evening if you can. And when you rent/buy your place, make sure it is not facing the sun.
This is really solid advice. If you have a house or apartment that has a lot of windows facing west, the sun can bake your space. Having your windows situated facing north or even east really helps.
I hate the weather it sucks
CALIFORNIANS DESTROYED NEVADA
I live in Las Vegas and the ONLY thing I "hate" is that it grew too fast for city services to keep up.
Loving the channel! What kind of mic is that? Sounds great!
DJI wireless Mic system! There’s a new version out but this is the original version. Works great!
Seems like someone is getting killed by a car every day so there is that.
Guess I won’t be driving around near downtown Vegas much
Summerlin is a neighborhood in Las Vegas.
Dope video. I just moved to Vegas
Welcome ☺️
How about the caliber of people here? Always on the take. Horrible place for single women.
You are awsome ... all you can vegas w/ Derek & Kathern... alcohol is medicine!
Vegas is too saturated now. I had a blast living in the ridges 2014 to 2017. Im glad i moved away. Laguna beach has been fantastic
yeah you're rich
In a local I’ve been here over 7 years and i agree with most of what was said except for, the views- i think they are stunning! I live in Inspirada and the views of the strip and mountains 360 are beautiful. I come from CA too so I’m also a beach girl. The other thing is tourists. I say keep coming all year and have as much fun as possible! My job relies on tourists so i love when they come and have a good time
I would have to say that being a tourist who loves going to Vegas, you need a train system to access the suburbs.
It’s better to keep those distinct lifestyles completely separate
Great vid 👍🏾👍🏾

I lived in Vegas for 10 years and loved 8 to 9 of those years. However, if you can't afford the lifestyle of Vegas, then don't move to Vegas.
I would like to know about the violence in Las Vegas
It's dangerous behind the Strat, in between the Strat and downtown is sketchy but no big deal, North Las Vegas is best avoided altogether, and Twain Ave is best avoided also.
getting worse every day, no matter where you live now.
Oh I’m so sorry that the older lady is so delusional that she thinks Vegas is family friendly I grew up here in the 1980s and 70s and even 60s yes but I was
Las Vegas food ain't got no seasoning 😮 seasoning salt
great video!
❤❤❤❤
what about making a video (retire in Vegas )
Thanks
Great idea! I will add it to the list of ideas!
Health care, including dental, is abysmal.
I mostly love it here. My biggest complaint is how incredibly standoffish locals are. It's made trying to make friends very difficult.
Vegas is done its too expensive to buy a house I’m going to Texas 😂
You find Las Vegas too expensive……. Geesh
@@thomaslawrence9324 400,000 for a house in the hood in vegas 🤦♂️😂
Vegas has changed a lot in the 15 years I have been visiting but if I was an American citizen it is where I would live. I have lots of friends there and it's such a unique place. You can be off-strip and think you're in a small town or you can be living it up in The Bellagio. The food scene is great and the vibe is great because it's such a melting pot of people.
If you’re rich, Vegas is great. Otherwise, not so much.
The heat is terrible. “Dry heat” means nothing when it’s 120 degrees F.
You still sweat like a stuck pig.
Yep! Been there the middle of July and it was so hot that you couldn't even walk after 2 minutes being oustide!
0:22 I love your dead mouse.
It was a windy day so needed it!
DO NOT MOVE to Las Vegas if you wish to pursue and/or secure a good career, regardless of industry or field. Employers here prefer mediocre ass-kissers to those who are genuinely good at what they do.
I lost all faith in humanity when I saw The Strat, the phucking Strat was charging $25 for valet!!
One of the best things about Las Vegas was we only had 836,000 people that lived here everybody stop moving here
Toothpaste is out of the tube. We had it great once.
Family friendly? I bet she doesn't have children, at least small children.
I know, what a joke.
This place is too big,way too many big city problems, tear down too much in the name of progress, neglect older areas of town, allow dregs of society to move here.
But,it is still home over here on the Eastside!!!
Aggressive SPEEDING drivers who break the laws, and locals seem to tolerate this daily are a huge negative. (also, crashes everywhere prove this). There are ZERO interesting neighborhoods with charm, or character (all strip malls, NO character) downtown Summerlin is a boring, AVERAGE outdoor mall, Tivoli is nice, but it’s mostly closed, the District in Henderson doesn’t have enough choice. Hopefully the UnCommons will create a “neighborhood” eventually, going beyond a strip mall. There are a lot of uneducated people in Las Vegas, (huge uneducated military presence), 🤷🏼♂️🤔🤷🏼♂️
I drove all over the vegas valley there are beautiful homes and neighborhoods
@@shyballer1 There are beautiful homes…multi-million dollar homes. My problem is that when you leave these homes there aren’t any places to go with any charm, or character…..EVERYTHING is a strip mall, everything is Home Depot, and Burger King, and Wal-Mart. Unlike other cities, Las Vegas is missing neighborhoods with charm, and character.
@@eddieg6436 isn't that a modern thing nothing but strip malls?
@@shyballer1 Perhaps, but they can be done WELL, if they’re designed right with beautiful architecture, nice stores, TREES………Look up the Calabasas Commons, and Pacific Palisades Village in L.A. to see how it’s done right!!!
Tell Johnny that I said hi.
He’s going to start uploading on his channel again soon. He’s been busy helping me get this one going 🙂
I moved here a few months ago - I love the sunshine of LV, the hiking out by the Red Rock Canyon, and the 24/7 lifestyle. What I really don't like is the low housing inventory. Nevada is -11% YoY housing inventory and even though the builders are building rapidly, we just don't have enough inventory. At some point this will shift, but for now it's a struggle. Prices are also way too high for homes.
New construction is becoming the best option for people because of everything you mentioned. Rate buy downs and closing cost savings from builders make such a huge difference in total cost!
@@LasVegasOlgaMoreno yes that’s my plan. I’m eyeing new homes already but waiting for more Beazer since they are the only ones building energy efficient fully electric homes. I wish builders in Summerlin West would do that but they all still install gas !!
Sounds like theres two types of people. Those with means, and those that are desperate.
The food is average here lol
The best thing about Vegas was the 80s there was a little over800,000 people here everybody stop moving here you screwed up your state live there
commifornia escapies coming to las vegas, thats what i hate!
Vibes life
This is a horrible place to live. I regret moving here every day
My #1 HATE is that the casinos in Nevada allow smoking. There's a movement to get smoke out of casinos in most other states, but Nevada is a dinosaur. Ban smoking in all indoor places and Las Vegas will be close to heaven for me. Gambling problem? Who ... me?
Well people like to smoke in casinos go to the non smoking section
@@shyballer1 There are no non-smoking sections. It's Park MGM and a small room at the Downtown Plaza. That's it.
@miamivicefanatic9736 I absolutely love the indoor smoking in Nevada cant do that back home!!! 😂😂😂
Think your forgetting it’s the whole reason tons of people go to Vegas can’t smoke indoors almost anywhere now, Vegas will never change that rule completely but maybe more casinos will have less smoking areas
The gaming industry owns our politicians. They do as the gaming industry wants. Interesting that the only place you can smoke indoors is the casinos. Interesting that the only place you can drink in public is on the Strip. Interesting that Nevada has the lowest gaming tax levied against casinos, lowest in the country.
This is what happens when you run away from problems instead of addressing them. You look stupid in 115 degree heat.

I have been living in this bullshiy town since 85. It's now 2024 .
Las vegas sucks .
Asd hole people who don't know how to drive there cars ...
Insurance rates insane . Because of bad drivers . Accidents all over town. People speeding tell gating.
And think thy own the road .
ALSO DRIVERS GATING ON THE FREEWAY. .doing 30 mph trinng to move into traffic doing 65 to 70 mph
Metro dosent pull people over for speeding and telgatting .
People driving texting on there cell phones . Drinking and smoking pot ......thinking it OK party hardy . I don't hear about anyone but me........
And most of all no ocean for surfing .
I am from Newport Beach. I miss the ocean ....
And A slower pace of life .
Unfortunately Gavin Newsom ha missed up California..
really,,,,,i was born and raised in San Diego,,,i do not see any problems,,,,Maybe in Newport, maybe in San Francisco,,,,I guess u did not save any money, and goodluck in Vegas,,,,
You seem to really hate the traffic
Lol the comments here are hilarious
I bet it is so much fun living there, getting a lot of free stuff on the strip
You have to spend to get the free stuff
@@thomaslawrence9324Now that Funny !!!! Lol
It’s not.
Been living in Vegas since 2011.
NOTHING is free anymore.
It’s fun living here if you’re rich already.
These people are not really saying anything. Every town every state has restaurants. Almost every state has casinos. Conventions are only from outsiders and have slowed. This was once an affordable option and besides Uber and taxi there’s no high end jobs. It has attractions but also has the worst human trafficking and laws that only punish some individuals but excludes people who play sports or city officials. It has good people but also has low life people and the drinking water is not great. What’s going to happen if war breaks out in a bigger scale and there’s no visitors?
