I recommend some ladder horns to prevent gutter damage and it just feels more stable on those high/ steep roofs. Cheap easy setup
I wish you wouldn’t have cut out the part where Mike was talking about pricing.
He’s gate keeping
Right… you asked a question then blocked his answer to promote your product…Wow
Showing love from Louisiana man keep working hard brudda. Forever self employed!!
Thanks for watching bro!
@@ForeverSelfEmployed oh for sure I’m 14 years old and just started a lawnmowing and power washing business and it’s going great. Thanks to you.
Mike👍You two are great together, great info!
I'd like to do this but damaging a house is a concern of mine. So you carefully wash a house and some paint flakes off. The customer calls you out. Now what?
You want to focus on gallons per minute not psi. You'll worry less this way.
You should tell the customer about the area with the flakey paint and tell them because it is defective the only way to clean it is by removing the paint, so it will be up to them if you clean it or not, sometimes the Don't care.. ALWAYS SET CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS BEFORE DOING ANY JOB FOR ANY SERVICE
U fix it
Insurance get a GL
Give them their money back a refund and move on to the next client most people don't complain about things like that and most of the time that doesn't happen but if the client does complain about that and if you did cause it don't try to fix it you could potentially make it worse that's not your profession explain that to them but just tell them that will give you a complete 100% refund and just be sincere and apologize
Thank you for the video, very helpful.
Awesome Im planing to make my transition full time job to a pressure washing bussines. I am in the idea this is a "seasonal" bussines but what are the best months to really make a good bucks ? Thank you very much guys !
I love your channel
Thanks man!
Its a good extra service its made me a extra grand or 2 for the year
This is going to be an OSHA safety video on how not to use a ladder properly
With gutter cleaning, when starting out because of the use of ladders and heights - should you get general liability insurance before you get customers? What is the consensus for this type of service when owners get started?
That depends on your situation. Available funds, customer profile, etc. I'd say better safe than sorry for both your sake and the customer's. However liability insurance can get pricey when your dealing with ladders and even pricier if you mention roofs. In my experience most customers don't ask for it. But if you're dealing with any type of property management companies or realtors they will most likely require you be licensed and insured in order to become a vendor they use. When I first started out I lost a job for not having insurance. They were understanding I had just started out but it was super embarrassing and unprofessional when they asked if I was insured and I had to tell them no.
I would get insurance first for peace of mind. If you know you are insured you can give the customer a confident YES. Also put the fact that you are insured in your advertising materials.
@@kylel200thank you for writing out this comment it was very helpful
He mentioned “response a bid” what is that? I googled it and not finding anything
the mcdonalds on 190 lmao i was just there
I recently started gutter cleaning as an add on to my pressure washing business, i had a few questions about insurance needed and laws about walking the roof etc, any insight? I ask because i hear about osha concerns etc.
Is it going good thinking of starting one
Im unemployed right now and i have no money to start pressure washing roofs such and such but I do have a ladder And leaf blower to clean gutters is that enough to start growing ?? Thanks
Yes. Get after it Oscar
@forever self employed I am looking to clean gutters regularly, and am wondering what size ladders I need! I plan on doing 2nd and 3rd story gutters. What ladders would be best for these heights? 24 or 28 for 2 stories? And what size should I get for 3rd floor roofs/gutters?
24ft for 2 stories and 32ft for 3 stories.
Nice video can you please next time you ask the guy a question can you please let him explain the pricing and everything else before you explain what you have to explain why can't you put your explanation and at the bottom or something or something else I really wanted to hear what the guy had to say
Let's talk liability insurance, do you think starting out $300,000 would be sufficient? Obviously with cost in mind what would you recommend starting out the amount of the liability policy to be?
That's nuts mate you only need $500 to start out, insurance here in Australia is $40 a month, I'm starting out with a ladder, blower, pressure hose attachment, a bucket and batteries
🤣🤣🤣
Mike!!! Mike!!! Mike!!!🎉🎉🎉
Is fall the only season to do gutters?
I'm 60, retired, and thinking of getting a pressure washing business going to keep me occupied, I've got experience with pressure washers and steam cleaners, mostly washing trash carts and trash trucks, and a home owners direct drive pressure washer (it needs a lot of work to run again) that I use around my house, I have a turbo nozzle and a surface cleaner.
Would this be good enough to get started? "Mike"
as long as the pressure washer has 2.5+ gpm output youll be good to start advertising. otherwise it will take way to long and isnt worth the time in my opinion
I’m a young guy and I’ve been really thinking about just trying to go door to door and ask people if they would let me clean their gutters for idk how much maybe 20 bucks but is that illegal like could I get fined or anything for it? I really hope the answer isn’t bad:( thank you for the time if you do respond!
Look it up, those rules vary from state to state. Also don’t sell yourself short, 20 bucks to clean gutters is crackhead prices sorry to put it that way, you could easily charge 50-$100 anytime getting on a roof or ladder is involved. I charge 150-200 per roof and customers are happy to pay it. But if it’s a tiny house with not bad gutters I’ll charge $50
Chemistry is king. And my company vacuums gutters up to 4 stories. Put the pressure washer on the ground, put the chemicals on the house
is the guy in the video using a pressure washer? Or is that just a 12v setup?
Do you guys charge taxes ?
Ladder rungs!😮
Does QuoteIQ work for other countries or just America?
Other countries as well
Starting out with Gutter Cleaning, how much liability insurance would be sufficient? $300K ?
1 million in coverage is typically pretty cheap, that’s what I have
300 billion
How much do you charge to clean house gutters?
🔥🔥

You cut over his entire segment on pricing with that other nonsense?

Hey man, I dig the videos but I have to say you are a bit shy of perfection of your work. I did 4 years of concrete and house pressure washing and if I left a speck of dirt anywhere my boss would make me scrub it off with a brush prior to sealing. I know this video is about gutters but it's your most recent. And for the first time I see your using a wand. In alot of your older videos you seem to be washing a house from 20 feet away? That's not pressure washing. You need to be close at ALL times. You also go ti fast with the scrub brush and didn't see you go both directions. It also matters on the the type of concrete. Exposed aggregate can take a beating and we would swirly head the whole driveway starting with edges and relief joints with white 45 degre and then
And then brush both directions to eliminate any lines before you seal. Rinse with 35 degree yellow tip. I hope this helps your biz. You do want to be more gentle with brushed concrete and especially stamped concrete. We did alot of nice re colors on stamped but thats a trade secret. Good luck.
Probably don't comment on videos guy, you realize most every video is sped up by at least 25%
Also- NEVER, EVER use pressure when washing a house- if you do, you wrong

Too much work for too little gain. $500 busting your ass in no bueno
말좀 천천히 해요.. 못 알아 듣겠음
That’s $500 on one job. Tell me what jobs you do that have you make $500 in less than 3 hours. 🤨 Most ppl out there working retail are lucky to make $500 in a week.
@@J10969 my guy plumbers where I live charge $500 min charge to fix a clogged toilet that takes them 30 minutes. Also not going to give up what I do. Don’t want my line of work to get over saturated and cause me to have to lower prices
You also have to go through years of training being abused as a grunt and learning how
To be a plumber to even get to the point where you’re making 500 a day to unclog a toilet or whatever. this business model doesn’t take nearly as much time to start. By the time you’re making any money with your own business being a plumber guys like this have already put a down payment on there house and are living comfy.
@@redditor7548 plumbers also have very high overhead compared to cleaning services. Like a shit load more overhead. Gutter cleaning and shit like that has such a higher profit margin it’s not even funny. Plus most of the time you don’t have to deal with pulling permits, inspectors etc.
