I really appreciate this. I'm completely new to bikes. I'm going to be getting one of these for sure. I'm actually excited to get something that I'll have to learn to work on, and can't really go too fast on. Im the type to need to learn before I graduate to prevent overcommitting. The Boom Vader’s seem to be more readily available. I’m guessing the aftermarket parts are all about the same.

Every video I have ever seen, all these Grom clones have some major issues. Whether it be a leak, missing bolts, etc. Idk if it’s worth the $1100. I’ve never rode a bike, but wanted one.
@@darkside7802 if you upgrade some minor things when you get the bike you can avoid bigger issues. I have a “boom Vader mods” video that I did which replaced likely issues as soon as I got the bike
So wait i have a question, i recently got the same exact thing, why do i have to do those modifications? I'll definatly do it if absolutely nessasary? But what would happen if i dont? Will the engine blow or something big like that or will it be like low on power?
So if you don’t do the mods you’ll just run into reliability issues. The bike may not start due to a dead battery, the response of the bike won’t be good with the stock carb, and the bike may randomly shut off if you don’t do the evap delete. I have videos on doing all of the mods so you could see how they’re done. If nothing else I’d at least do a new battery
Congrats man I love mine. Just took it on a 150 mile trip and it was fine. Make sure everything is Loc tite and change the carb kit and the battery and you should be good to go

I saw a bike that looked exactly like the boom vader, but was 50cc.Id buy it and then buy a 125cc engine and swap it later. The engine swaps are pretty easy and there are videos that walk you through it.First I'd just get comfortable riding with the 50cc though.
Might want to just buy the 125.....by the time you're 18 you'll have a bunch of mods done to it and you can hop on it right away without dealing with any engine swaps or buying another clone
How was the shifting with the foot gear shifter and the clutch lever? Heard alot of people say its very stiff and hard to shift into 2nd gear. Some people say its a break in period and others say its something you have to loosen or something like that. Ordered a 2023 Boom Vader and its shipping monday!
It is very stiff, I have 4,000 miles on mine and it’s still pretty stiff. You may have to loosen it but for the price it’s such a great value of a bike
@@BrapGenius does it get annoying having to use the clutch to shift alot or hold the clutch in traffic and stuff? Ive seen people lube the clutch parts and stuff and were able to hold the lever with 1 finger but only a handful of videos ive seen people fix that issue.

You might try some synthetic oil at your next oil change. Had shifting issues on a Kawasaki KLR250, and switching to synth oil flat fixed that problem. Just get motorcycle synthetic oil, as you don't want car oil with "friction modifiers" because those ingredients might destroy your clutch.
