Theres only on letter from murdoc but again as another commenter said you dont get that if you order through the z2 comics site only through the gorillaz official store sadly.
But again i can understand the frustration with not being able to get one.
This artbook is much more beautiful I woud've thought, starting saving money on purchasing it!
It is amazing and worth every penny theres a little something for everyine in this book

Yeah i feel sorry for all the people that want this book and cant afford if due to the prestige manufacturing they did for it in italy.
But i have recently just noticed its sold out though they never said there was a specific amount being made so just keep popping into the site occasionaly or look for other bookstores that are selling it.

Let me start by saying what a massive bloody honour it is to be writing
this foreword. An honour for you.
the owner of this book, and also for the publishers, who begged me to bang out a few words to boost sales. And who can blame them? A Murdoc Niccals endorsement is like her majesty's royal seal. only much better cos she'11 slap hers on anything.
At first I was understandably sceptical about the idea of an ‘art book’ sounds like a load of Jackson Pollocks, the sort of thing you keep in the bog next to the potpourri. But when they explained that the subject of this collection was me,
I was bang up for it! Think of this book, Murdoc, as some talented artists coming together to celebrate a much more talented artist. Paraphrasing a bit but that was the gist.
So it's with great pleasure that I present to you this homage to the
visual enigma that is Murdoc F. Niccals: Gorilla founder, cultural
übermensch, and occasional life-drawing model. Granted, there are
a few pictures of other people in here too, so best just thumb past
those, or even better, use sticky labels to mark the pages with the
Murdoc pictures, like I've done with my copy.
All that remains to be said is thank you. Firstly to the artists, for
attempting the impossible by trying to capture my vital essence on
canvas. Every artist needs their muse, and I'm humbled to be yours.
That's something we've got in common, actually, because my muse is
also me. (Picasso's was 90% proof absinthe, which explains why his
drawings were so shit.) Thanks also to everyone else who made this
book possible from the important people in suits, all the way down
to my typist 2D, who is tapping this out while I lay back sipping my
absinthe daiquiri. But most of all, thank you to Art itself, without
which the world Nould be a grey, depressing, but probably quite efficiently run dystopia

the lack of phase 1 disgusts me
Well this is an collaborative art book so some artists may have had phase 1 in mind when doing their particular artpiece.
Half way through the vid and I want it even more!
Its a very infectious book the more you gaze at it the more it draws you in.
Tis a tome of unimaginable power and grasp merely glancing at the title and thumbnail of this video is dangerous
Why's nobody doesn't talk about Noodle's feets artwork? It's freaky good!

I really surprised The Gorillaz went with Z2 Comics for this release. The last Almanac book release was a nightmare. I know COVID caused most of the problems but I can see that Z2 had some issues with this release as well. Oh well. I shouldn't be bitter and just happy that this thing was release to the public. Robert Valley is one of my favorite artist so I'm pumped that he has a full section in this book.
I dunno maybe they feel its a reliable publisher or just somewhere easy to sell the book???? I dunno

WHAT VERSION IS THIS?? the note on the interior cover is not on my copy. (i bought mine from z2 comics, so i wonder if its different depending on which site...)

@@nafsikaeuripi7 id reccomend looking online first for the shops youre going too i know they arent limited to a certain number of copies but i wouldnt be suprised if scalpers have tried to buy up all the stock.
is this worth buying over the almanac?
Honestly both this and the almanac both versions are well worth buying theres vastly.more varied art in the art book but the almanac has cool little jokey inserts and lore stuff inside it.
Its all just really a matter of personal preference. Would you rather prefer a book of new art or a book containing art from the start to song machine.
