- HEY GUYS sorry for the awkwardness and weird audio quality but here it is!! The long awaited, much requested sketchbook tour!! I have been posting my sketchbook pages, drawings, paintings, and sharing my art advice for years on Instagram, so I am excited to finally hop on RUclips and share a new side of my art practice. I'm looking forward to sharing more of my art, studio, and lifestyle as a full-time artist, and getting better with speaking to a camera, because, boy, that was tough! I hope you enjoy seeing my creative process and ideas, and maybe get a little inspiration to use your own sketchbook. Happy Drawing!
This sketchbook documents my last semester in art school, getting my BFA in Studio Art at the University of Central Florida. A lot of sketches, drawings, ink doodles, painting ideas, and illustration ideas fill this book. It definitely was a difficult time for me. I had 5 classes, all of them being studio or studio related, while I was trying to make a foundation for my art and illustration career. After graduating, I do miss the people I met and the atmosphere of an academic learning environment, but I am equally excited to see where my art can take me and how my art career develops this year with expanding onto RUclips.
About Me:
Hi! I'm Shay an artist and illustrator based in Central Florida. I make goofy drawings and digital paintings of my favorite characters, along with my own personal series of characters and universes. My art practice is fueled by my passion to create, entertain, and my crippling caffeine addiction.

I believe that every once in a while an artist comes out of their cave and presents us their sketchbook
I just love finding random sketchbook tours bc It's super inspiring! Your sketches (specially graphite) are super clean and expressive! I wish mine were this pretty lol. Hope you keep posting videos and seeing more of your stuff!
I love this sketchbook tour. I really find it hard to find artist that art styles really inspire me so it really surprises me how inspiring and beautiful your doodles are, and the concept’s behind th are so goofy, like strawberry cowboy?? That’s so cool. Pls keep it up I love your style and art!!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! Thank you for the shoutout and lovely artwork of Bennie and Julian I’m actually in tears 💚💚💚💚 -Soda!!!
"Learning to draw Patrick Bateman helped me learn to draw Jerma" shifted my entire worldview about 10 degrees on its axis
I just wanted to say thank you for being so transparent. As a college student majoring in art, I often feel so much pressure on the assignments I do for courses and if they aren't like Vincent Van Gogh tier then I feel like a failure but seeing you so easily show your work without being super hard on yourself is so inspiring, truly. I really adore how open you are about your art, especially pieces in your sketchbook you sort of felt weary of, you still showed them which is like so insanely admirable. Thank you for this and I look forward to exploring more videos on your channel as I am a newbie! <3 x
bru im watching this and im so inspired to draw more. ive been struggling with my art lately but these kind of videos really remind me that creating is really as simple as taking your pencil and goofing around <3
Your artstyle is so detailed and pretty!! Thank you RUclips for recommending me this video aaah, this tour was awesome!! 🥺💕
Your videos make me feel like I’m just FaceTiming a friend who’s giving me a sketchbook tour and then I find myself laughing at your jokes and realizing it’s a RUclips video 😭. A very immersive experience 10/10.
Oooh your sketchbook is so cool! I love your sketches and how dynamic they are! I could stare at them all day
I keep coming back to your tour since I fell in love with your art on Instagram awhile ago and my favorite things are sketchbook tours!!!! Your art is just so expressive and I love it so much!!!!!
it is SO AWESOME seeing another person who's sketchbook is just sorta like... a mismatch of whatever you want to put in there!! like notes, sketches, some finished stuff, etc. I absolutely love this video!! thank you so much for sharing!
you started this sketchbook on my birthday!! and i wanted to say thank you for your videos!! u have completely ignited my fire to draw again :)
I'm sorry but soon as I saw blueberry bill I fell in love <33 you're so good at faces and expressions!!
You have inspired me to go more into detail with my art, I really admire your technique!
finally someone who really uses a sketchbook and is really messy and real
I'm so glad you made a RUclips channel!! I love all your art on Instagram. Your an amazing artist!!
aaaaaaaa I'm so honored to be mentioned in this video!! thank you so so much 🥰 god I LOVE this sketchbook tour, I love how you use your sketchbook as a place to take notes and work out ideas, it's not like a shiny kind of perfect but more lived-in, and I love it all the more as a result. also GOD that Patrick Bateman spread!! all of the character spreads!! esp that one from the first scream movie, so so perfect (I understand why you don't like it though, your other work is def more stylized, I can def see the direction you're going in!)
sketchbook tour is my favourite! i went to art school and now im in an art university so i always wanted to see peoples sketchbooks
