MountleZz you can get a tablet for as cheap as 30$ and u can get dedicated OSU switched for 30$ too if ur a minor just beg your parents for it. But if your struggling then I don’t recommend
Personal preference, patience. If you wanna spend time membrane will be fine. It'll take donkey years to make it work but it ain't that much worse. Some people prefer membrane. If you're lazy buy a mechanical, period. I'm lazy, Gavin won't spend this many hours on osu either, and membranes can get a little inconsistent. But actually before I switched to mechanical, I was playing osu fine with my office keyboard lol. The membranes have their own unique satisfaction and I improved slower but I was improving and still having fun. I switched only around the time after I got my first 5 star fces. Now I play mechanical. Agree that it's more versatile but I wanted to give a shout-out to my old and humble membrane keys. I never got a chance to play on laptop keys cause I don't own one owo Gavin do mouse Vs tablet pls thx luv your vids ur cool
Membrane hurts if you play for long periods, you stamina goes from 100 to -10billion really quickly, and if you get those really cheap keyboards that ghost every 3 consecutive presses its impossible to stream. I've been spending what 124h since i started playing the game on a membrane keyboard. Its just sad.
Switching mech was a weird experience. I tend to get more choke than using membrane. So yeah, I might need some time to get used to mech keyboard. If anything, mech keyboard makes me lose more stamina than me using membrane.
I starter playing osu with a laptop until now and my rank is at 19k global so i think it doesnt really matter what u use as long as u are comfortable with it
I could actually consistently stream on low bpm maps such as yooh - ice angel with my laptop keyboard rather than my mechanical keyboard. I guess the type of equipment you use can be situational and learning to adapt to the imperfections that one keyboard has will benefit you in the long run as some people might have difficulties transitioning. But hey, if you're a fast learner, then do whatever floats your boat.
Short answer is yes but long answer is that it depends, you'll feel a really good boost if you start playing with membrane and move onto mechanical after like 2 years which is what i did But starting off with mechanical wouldn't really make you feel any improvement, but in both cases it's overall better to play with mechanical.
@@GavinosuHighlights honestly going with the hard path of playing mouse and membrane then switching over to tablet and mechanical pays off really well and makes the game overall more enjoyable.
Gavin - osu! It does not take months to reap benefits of a good mechanical keyboard over a god damn membrane keyboard. I went from 60k to 7k after switching to a mechanical keyboard within a couple of months. Truth is that it’s much more comfortable to play with, easier to stream, and taps are more consistent. When I first got a mechanical keyboard I instantly could tell the difference and improved my accuracy just on the first day. Yeah if you get a dirt cheap mechanical keyboard you won’t see much difference but if you were to buy a mechanical keyboard at a minimum of even 100 dollars, you would improve right away.
Sorry to break it but it really doesn’t matter As long as u have skill I started with membrane and was 180-200k or smth and switched to mechanical keyboard and I was way less consistent I couldn’t stream better I could just stream faster
Membrane and mechanical require you to tap slightly differently. When switching from one to another it will take some time to get optimal at using it. As a player who has used a lot of both, membrane has been only half as good.
Yes you need a mechanical keyboard for osu unless you don’t enjoy getting good at the game. Have you seen a top 100 player who doesn’t use a mechanical keyboard in osu?
Laptop keyboard working on about 60-70g but this keyboard good for doubletapping (I can stream 330 bpm without aim OwO). On this keyboard ur stamina is so bad cuz mechanical keyboard working on 45-50g(most often ppl play on red and blue) (Sorry for bad English)
I personally use the razer ornata chroma but ill buy a keypad instead of buying a bew keyboard cuz i juat bought the ornata for 30 euros from my friend so ill buy a 20 euro keypad
I've been using membranes ever since i started, its pretty decent but those types of membranes like those office keyboards that you used are just trash for osu.
short answer: yes
Ok
life is simple
if you feel stuck, just buy everything that help your improving
