So that's why they are the one and the same, they respect and some way understand each other and have shared past and future.

Part of me now wants a Part 3/1 Diojona fanfic like that..or in general like it as part 1. It's nice seeing the half-brothers almost as frienemies..enemies turned friends at the dire moment. Or, alternatively, since some friendship involves sharing..DIO sees his taking of Jon's body like a sign of 'sharing the love'. Still, I think I finally get why I liked Part 1's ending. It's that they stuck together, even towards death or revival. They gave up a rivalry towards the end for bizarre friendship..and for Erina + Lisa Lisa to survive.

Alejandro Gil I doubt it has anything to do with DIO's physical appearance since over time Jonathan's body was slowly becoming becoming DIO's body. So around the end of part 3 DIO had completely taken over Jonathan's body. That's why Giorno is DIO's biological son instead of Johnathan. the only thing DIO has left of Johnathan is the joestar birthmark BUT everything else (heart, lung, brain, sperm cells, etc) is DIO. I'm pretty sure "one and the same" has a deeper meaning about their bizarre friendship.

Alejandro Gil I doubt it has anything to do with DIO's physical appearance since over time Jonathan's body was slowly becoming becoming DIO's body. So around the end of part 3 DIO had completely taken over Jonathan's body. That's why Giorno is DIO's biological son instead of Johnathan. the only thing DIO has left of Johnathan is the joestar birthmark BUT everything else (heart, lung, brain, sperm cells, etc) is DIO. I'm pretty sure "one and the same" has a deeper meaning about their bizarre friendship.
