It tries to take it's fighting seriously (to an almost funny degree, just like a certain other anime I know of), but it also knows that true strength lies in within the spirit of the fighter, not the body. Thats what the "ゴ" sign means. Intangible power, like a rumble from deep beneath the earth. It makes perfect sense that Yugiro can sense stands. In a way, he's already perfectly manifested the power of the human soul. That, and the way that the Ali Jr. scene ended up almost being the exact same as the original, but for opposite reasons. Actually genius. Also diavolo dies so it's canon. Nice work ゴゴゴゴ
