Silver Mountain Water is my favorite 🤩, especially the opening. Virgin Islans Water smells exactly like BurtBee's Coconut Foot Cream, it smells like coconut, lemon and butter; it smells like sunscreen, it's a very thematic scent. It smells good but I'm not sure.
Great to hear you @And Avi and yes, Virgin Island does walk a fine line between a 'sunscreen' and a perfume. But to my nose, I just love the realistic coconut and lime....it's fresh, summery and just makes me happy (haven't had the chance to smell Burtbee's foot cream! and will make it a point never to smell it😂 it would be so sad to me if it smells like Virgin Island😕) Funny for me SMW doesn't quite it the mark (yet) but I do know that many people love this one
Neither of the above fragrances last on me. The silver mountain water is a skin scent for me for like two hours but only projects the first half hour. Virgin island lasts a bit more on my skin but not a projection monster. Aventus lasts all day for me though.
Virgin Island Water is one I'll have to try out for my next trip to the Caribbean. Hopefully will be sooner rather than later it's bloody cold over here right now. Keep up the awesome videos Marcelo, I love 'em.
Great to hear from you Ollie….maybe rather then physically going to the Caribbean you can be transported via a few sprays of this gem?🤔….you should test this out, but I would wait for a few days of sunshine as this fragrances comes alive with a little bit of sun ☀️
Years ago, I bought GIT, Aventus, and didn't know what else to get. The finalist were Silver Mountain, Himalaya, and VIW. I had already tried and loved VIW, but it smelling more like suntan lotion than a perfume, and Himalaya being compared to Paco XS, I went for SMWater. Who would have guessed that the "filler" bottle I ordered was to be my favorite. I love SMW so much, that there's no way Mefisto is better, so I've not even sampled Mefisto.
I'm yet to cross over to SMW. I know that this one is a bigger hitter and a lot of people love this fragrance (in the case of Josh, this is one of his easy 'go to' perfumes)....for me I get stuck on that 'blueberry note', for some reason I really struggle with it. I do understand the 'suntan' vibe that VIW creates, but on this one, it's absolutely pure love from me. I find that the coconut scent is soft, creamy and not synthetic at all (as opposed to what I associate with suntan oils which tend to be very over the top with coconut). But that's the beauty of fragrance and smells...we all interpret it in many different ways. Always good to hear from you @demonwares, thanks for reaching out
Great to hear from you Ben....I haven't come across Heeleys Sel Marin. I just had a look and it doesn't seem that anyone in Australia stocks this one. Clearly this is a winner for you. How come? Would love to know your thoughts
I think Lucky Scent have it and ship to Oz. Anyway it’s a superb photo-realistic salty marine citrus scent. Really captures the essence of the coast and ocean and not in the usual synthetic blue aquatic manner. It’s on a whole other level to that and worth checking out. Cheers
@@benchampion3768 Thanks Ben.....I'm going to check these out. I'll bank up a few that I want to try that we don't have here in Australia. Thanks again Ben👊🏼
Fantastic job guys.brother Marcelo I always tell my perfumers friends that sandalwood doesn’t like black currant,it’s the blend of the creaminess of the sandalwood with BC that makes BC smell a little off or unpleasant.. alsoJosh brought on a super perfect point, which’s no suntan location on earth contains real or even high quality synthetic coconut.I think virgin island water is a masterpiece vintage, vintage being the first of its kind..awesome video guys.
Thanks for the insight Bardissan, I had no idea that this occurs with those 2 ingredients. Clearly it’s a winner for most people, just not so much for me….just not ready yet to have Silver Mountain in the collection (but you know, just give me time😉) And yes, I LOVE Virgin Island. Very much enjoying wearing this fragrance; beautifully crafted and wears wonderful on me (makes me happy when I’m wearing it) Great to hear from you my friend
When I was 20 years old Silver Mountain Water was like the only creed fragrance I loved. It really is a beautiful scent but in a way that Tea smell feels a little manufactured
Yep, there's something in the middle there too that I'm not a huge fan of (I think it's the blackcurrant note)....I still need to fall in love with this one. Great to hear from you Jereme, thanks for reaching out👊🏽
Two more winners. Virgin Island Water owned me from the start, while the inky opening of Silver Mountain Water threw me for a momentary loop. You guys are right about Virgin Island Water being best for summer, the warmer the weather the better in my opinion. Silver Mountain Water also works well on me in warmer climes, but I have yet to give it a go during autumn/winter. Wonderful stinkers which will remain in my collection.
I'm happy to hear that SMW threw you off a bit; it's still throwing😂. This is one that I don't (currently) own as I find the fragrance......unusual. I have a tester and when I wear it my wife loves it on me, but I'm not a huge fan, so haven't crossed over yet. Someone mentioned to that I should try this as a winter/cooler months fragrance as it will sit better....so I'm waiting for our Fall to give this another go (let's see what happens🤔) Great to hear from you @megasoid, greatly appreciate all your support my friend👊🏼
Hi and thanks for sharing this video! QUESTION: Are the older formulations of Creed’s VIW (the all blue cap or the silver with blue in the center cap) much different than current (all silver top) formulation? I’m very curious as I look to replace my VIW bottle that’s almost out.
I have a bottle of Virgin Island Water. At first I was disappointed in the performance. But it has "sneaky" longevity. It is Virgin Island WATER, like scented water. Very light. I have a Dua Fragrances "concept series" hybrid of Virgin Island Water and Aventus, the "Piña Colada" fragrance (because of the combination of pineapple and coconut) and it's very good and performs well. I haven't even tried Silver Mountain Water yet.
I think you nailed on the head here James....this fragrance has a "sneaky longevity" to it. Especially being that this fragrance falls into a 'Citrus' family category, and yet, the fragrance loves to linger. I love your layering "Concept Series"....I'm going to need to try this😎 Silver Mountain Water isn't in my collection; I'm not completely in love with that Blackcurrant note....once you get a chance to test, I would be curious to know what you think James
I know😢this is one of Creeds big hitters but for some reason it just doesn’t resonate… I think it’s that black currant and sandalwood mix that just doesn’t agree with my nose However for Josh (the aromatic kid) this is one of his favorites♥️ Great to hear from you John👊🏽
I love that you go for all the hard to find, more unique niche offerings that are out there. I would recommend Virgin Island for your summer....it's the best 'beach vibe' in a bottle that I know....instantly takes you to somewhere where you really want to be (the Caribbean or Fiji🏝) Great to hear from you Homie and yes again, I need to try your SOTD....love your collection Julio❤️
VIW is no longer produced, do you think VIW can be treated as an investment, that is to buy it and put it on the shelf and wait for the price to increase?
Is this actually the case!? I haven’t heard that they are discontinuing this fragrance… That makes me really sad actually (I really think this perfume is amazing😎) I like your idea, to me that makes sense But in truth I have no idea🤷🏽♂️
I've read that it does contain a 'rum accord'...but I have never smelt this. I like the scent of rum or whiskey in fragrance, so I do have a radar for this....but in the case of VIW I've never detected it So short answer is "not to my nose"....I would recommend you test this one out and see if you can detect. Great to hear from you @Classic style, thanks for reaching out👊🏼
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Great radar 😂 Thank you for your answer and for the welcome. You had answered my question in the video where you say the same thing. Yes I have different fragrances to test. I am interested in this one but does it have good performance? I want a Creed summer perfume or others brands with minimum performance, sillage 🤔
@@classicstyloriginal You're going to get mixed reviews on it's performance and for that it gets side lined. However for me, VIW is a winner. It doesn't have massive sillage (would be between a body to moderate) but when I'm wearing it does get detected by others. When it comes to longevity, it has a comfortable 6+ hours on me but again it's not punchy. Which I'm going to say, that it's not designed to be a punchy fragrance. For me this one is all class, summery, breezy, beach vibe.....but; you have to test for yourself😎 Good luck!
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Yes I get it, definitely a gorgeous scent but not the kind that has a big sillage. I will try it. Otherwise the Montale or Mancera perfumes are maybe interesting too because good reputation. Thanks 👍

Virgin Isaland Water is my wife’s absolute favourite. I wear in the Summer in West Australia. It is perfect for eating seafood outside by the pool.
Yep, what a winning combination = poolside, enjoying seafood, wonderful WA sun...boom baby💥
I blind bought it and was PLEASANTLY surprised. I was addicted to smelling my wrist the rest of that afternoon lol.
I just sampled SMW today and I love it. I’d definitely wear it to the office 😄 Yet to try VIW, it’s on my wishlist to sample
Love the reference to wearing a linen shirt!

Silver Mountain is amazing during the 30 minutes it lasts
😂 so it doesn’t last long on you?
I concur, I wore it just now. It lasted all of 40 mins.
