What an interesting perspective, because this was my exact response -- instead, it was for Aventus Cologne vs Silver Mountain Water. I've got to give Silver Mountain Water another shot now
Also consider how a fragrance mixes with a persons natural odor, especially when their pores are open. I only get compliments when I wear Eros, Code, Invictus, CK Eternity, and Fierce. Also, EDP get more compliments Thant EDT and parfum’s for some reason.

Bravo Melissa! Bravo! Love how you brought this point up. You are so right! I like the smell of SMW, but being a male I was never truly enamored with it as my female counterparts are. I haven't reached for it that much because the current formulation of SMW lacks of longevity/ projection on my skin. Gone in 1-2 hrs. I've long taken a stand not to buy anymore clones, but I was recently gifted Armaf's Club de Nuit Sillage, and I was impressed with the quality and how similar it was to an older bottle of SMW that I had. The performance blows the current SMW away. Not sure if you got your nose on that Armaf yet, but given your experience with the original SMW, I would love to see what your opinion on that Armaf would be. Not as good on paper as it is on skin, but on skin it really blurs the lines between clone and original. Ironically, to further your point, it was a woman that bought the fragrance for me. I just did a google search it goes for $35 to $40.
I think in general whether it's your fragrance or your clothes or what you drive or any other thing that you do in that vein in life, do it for yourself. Dress in the clothes that make you feel good. Drive the car that fits you and your life. Wear fragrances that you enjoy. When you start wearing clothes that you think other people will think are cool, you get a car that you think will impress others, or you wear a fragrance that you think will magically make you attractive to others, you're doing yourself a disservice. You're losing yourself. Because maybe someone will make up a story in their head about how great you are because they like your clothes or car or scent, but it's not a good story about you. Those things will tell the story of someone who is willing to be someone they're not if it means strangers might like them. You don't want to be that person. When those strangers aren't around, you are left alone with clothes and a car and a scent that you never wanted, and that's sad and lonely. Dress for yourself, drive the car that's best for you, and always remember that when everyone is gone, you still need to smell yourself.
Funny you say that because I wore Adventis a couple of weeks ago to the Nike store and I had 3 dudes compliment me on the cologne. SMW is a beast and definitely gets more compliments from the ladies.

I love Creed Aventus (actually the oil from Zoha Aroma). It ticks almost all the boxes for men, that is the older batches. It is fresh then woody, rich and masculine. However i think it lacks a little sex appeal to please women. The new king is Layton, second king in the game! :)
Layton has MUCH better longevity than Aventus and has quickly become my go to over Aventus. The 2010-2015 Aventus batches were amazing and the new batches lack much of what made me love Aventus.
I have 5 different Creed perfumes/colognes but the best one for me is Royal Oud. Every time I wear it, I receive a lot of compliments and 99% of those actually come from women. I do like Silver Mountain too, that said. Men who love Aventus like to smell like males (virility matter). When you wear Aventus, you smell like money, like doctor, like a boss.
I forgot to mention that your comment about UNISEX frags having most game is also on point. Although I actually prefer smelling more masculine scents on my skin for myself, there is no denying that the most compliments I receive from ladies are when wearing frags that are consider UNISEX. Dior's Bois d'Argent, Side Effect, Layton, TF Plum Japonais, and BR540 are all prime examples.
yup she's right my favorite scent is aventus and all the smoky fruity pineapplely scents but my wife's favorite out of my 50+ fragrance collection is Creed Silver mountain water😭 love this one tho👍.
Furthermore, what I have learned is that if you are a very masculine kind of man, the tall bulky type, you should go for a more feminine fragrance because it “softens” your appearance and makes you much more likable and approachable for women. In general: Women don't want to feel intimidated by you, they want to feel safe around you. Take this into account, when choosing your fragrance.
Spot on with your analysis. Not to mention I did the same thing when I first smelled in like 05 then i saved up 350 dollars and came back and bought it. 120 ML at the time and it’s the first Niche and Creed fragrance I ever bought. Def the best one hands down to me.
It’s my number one fav creed fragrance too, Aventus is a classic but once you smell the other creed fragrances you realize they have better ones like silver mountain water, virgin island water, green Irish tweed and the list goes on
TBH...I've never understood why men take fragrance advice from other men. I've always wanted to know what women like...not what other men think women like or stories from other men on what women like.
I had a frag that I didn't know was a creed clone, but the nose behind it was a woman. Women seemed to like it over the original creed. Till this day, my most complimented frag $25, but only last about 3-5 hours on my skin depending on how strong the wind is. I also don't spread directly on me I spread above me overspray a little bit and let it kind of just fall and mist on me. I wasn't just getting compliments, more than that. I didn't intend to get that kind of feedback. I just wanted to smell descent for cheap
I don't wear fragrances for other people, though smelling good to others is a perk. Not a fan of Silver Mountain Water on my skin at all. It reminds me of Gucci Memoire d'une Odeur, which my fiancee wears. It does smell nice, just not on me. It's not that I dislike unisex fragrances. I love a lot of iris scents, for example, and BR540. This one just goes feminine on my skin in a way I don't enjoy. Doesn't feel like "me." As for Aventus, I do quite like it, but there are so many similar scents and clones these days. My favorite Creeds are probably Green Irish Tweed and Virgin Island Water.
In essence, most of the time it is better to be invitational to an audience as this has mystery and interest (SMW) rather than to force your message on an audience with assertive/aggressive fragrance {RT) which may feel like mastery to the wearer but often pushes an audience away. mystery is often more powerful than mastery!
My wife hates Silver Mountain water but loves Aventus on me. The metallic vibe of SMW destroys it for me too but I do appreciate it as a creation. Nice video.
Swiss Alps in a bottle. I've been rocking SMW since the 90's. It's one of my favorites. My top Creed is Spice and Wood. Aventus is the ultimate suit fragrance for Men. It's that kind of fragrance.
i just tried silver mountai water for the first time. and you are right i can understand why women would like that more its a different scent and less harsh than aventus. both great scents. decided to get the armaf versions of both.
male scents that men like vs men's scents that women like and the difference. Sold. Subscribed. i like the theory since there are some women's fragrances which are marketed as men magnets that I find nauseating to me. Respect. Subscribed.
I smelled Aventus at a Nordstrom once and I was NOT impressed. I bought Silver Mountain Water without smelling it and it is a fantastic fragrance. The “water” part of the title is key, because it doesn’t last that long, but it is an excellent scent. I have Green Irish Tweed coming tomorrow and I’m hoping that is great as well;
It is so true lately I am in love with oud and leather fragrances guys love masculine scents they usually say "Mmmmm you smell lovely or interesting", women, however, tend to prefer fresh fragrances.
I have had Creed Aventus for a while now but i hardly ever got compliments by women just every once in a while but fragrance like Halloween Man X i get compliments all the time and so yeah you are right i think Creed Aventus appeals more to men than women at least thats what i have generally experienced .
This is good content showing folks what really is attractive. The irony is in the lived experience more people noticed my middle eastern oils vs designer scents.
I agree. I noticed the fragrances I like as a guy women don’t feel the same way. I’m actually very into unisex fragrances over masculine. I don’t need to smell manly all the damn time. Side note In the beginning of getting into designer/niche fragrances I looked for what women like. Now I buy what I prefer. To each their own but if I’m going to be spending over $100 on something which I always do then at that point I’m not wearing it for others or their compliments. Half the time I’m not even getting compliments but I just love the way I smell. And I take pride in that. I don’t need any compliments from anybody although it’s nice and I have gotten them that shouldn’t be your main reason for buying something in my opinion. I feel like I don’t need to be validated for something that I enjoy. And if others do too then great if they don’t like it great because I do!
Recently bought silver mountain water in the travel size atomizers as well as a creed atomizer case. The fragrance is so weak. I remember having a bottle a few years ago and it seemed a lot stronger.
Mine is Aventus cologne gets ladies attention. I have decant of SMW and I use it for sunday mass or funeral. How's the performance on your skin and if there's a chance, can you compare it to Xerjoff Mephisto and Mephisto Gentillumo.

This is honestly facts. I wear Aventus but most of my female friends/family members go wild over SMW. I legit couldn't believe what I say when they smelled the bottle but its true. Great vid
I’m new to collecting. Have around 100 bottles. Just got about 7 unisex fragrances because I keep hearing about them. You’re absolutely right. Women are completely drawn to unisex fragrances
I guess it’s just different for everyone. My gf does like SMW but she melts(literally) for Aventus. I’ve had nothing but positive feedback when it comes to Aventus. Man, woman, cat or dog doesn’t matter. On me everyone loves it. Guess I’m lucky. But I get positive feedback with SMW as well just not as intense of feedback as the king. Great video!
I had the thought that aventus would be very unique and smelled very attractive. But as a guy, when I first smelled aventus I was let down, it just didn’t surprise me. It smells nice but nothing mind blowing to me.
Hello. Thank you for your insight. On a whim, I recently, sprayed on Creed Neroli Sauvage before my jog/walk around a local golf course/park/jogging trail. I'd forgotten that I had the sample and wanted to revisit the fragrance. Within about 10- 15 minutes in, I notice this one lithe young lady jogging by and thought nothing of it, but then she turned around and ran back past me. I thought nothing of it, but then another young collage aged lovely, jogged by and she also turned around and jogged past me. I thought I'd forgotten something, so I reversed course and headed back to my place. This woman ended up reversing course and passing me about 5 times, which I though was a somewhat unusual jogging pattern, but (being a bit clueless), didn't connect the dots. With the understanding that women have a much superior sense of smell, later that day I went to local grocery store (of course, with the intent to give women the pleasure of experiencing an unique fragrance), I adorned myself with about 2 sprays. As I was leaving the store, I passed by another attractive lady who offered no eye contact, yet she suddenly had to retrace her steps and returned to her car, again, I surmised, the experience the fragrance. I was once one of those "CroMagNumbNuts" that balked at a universal fragrance. Thanks to you I now understand why I received the reaction that I did, and last night I went on line to invest in a relatively small SMW purchase. Still working on being more approachable, but I'm now better armed with the knowledge to leverage the power of an amazing scent WRT giving women sensual (olfactory) pleasure. Thanks again.
The only non-unisex fragrances that I have are CH Prive, Versace Dreamer, Armani Code, and Aventus Cologne. Everything else is unisex niche. I actually thought that would be a negative when it comes to women, but didn't care.
FACTS!!!!!!!! The percentage of women who love Aventus is very very small indeed incomparison to us men who has crowned it the king of all male colognes..
Incase someone missed the main point of what I said in the video. Women do compliment Aventus but it gets MORE love from men than women

Been saying for YEARS that girls aren’t that into Adventus. For yeeeeaaaars. And everyone called me crazy.
yup she's right my favorite scent is aventus and all the smoky fruity pineapplely scents but my wife's favorite out of my 50+ fragrance collection is Creed Silver mountain water😭 love this one tho👍.
The fact that some peoples journey never gets past compliments and Aventus is beyond me
Just purchased SMW and the Xerjoff Naxos for my dad for Father’s Day. Thanks for the rec.
Thank you for your opinion. IMO they’re both good. You can’t beat Creed Aventus. It’s a compliment magnet. So is SMW. Both are good.
Facts All day my wife purchased a bottle for me and the first time out ladies were just giving me so many compliments it was insane .
Soo true gotta layer it with something else cause it's too common. I'm a fan of Millesime Imperial tho
Thank toy for your perspective. Yes, we guys tend to skew things and then reinforce that POV.
I've only heard a couple of times that Aventus is a PD. Most of the time, though, I hear people saying Aventus is loved more by men than women.
I’m so glad some one finally said it!
Silver Mountain Water really reminds me of CK One. Gives me nostalgic vibes.
Sliver water is the true winner. We been knew.

Spot on with your analysis. Not to mention I did the same thing when I first smelled in like 05 then i saved up 350 dollars and came back and bought it. 120 ML at the time and it’s the first Niche and Creed fragrance I ever bought. Def the best one hands down to me.
It’s my number one fav creed fragrance too, Aventus is a classic but once you smell the other creed fragrances you realize they have better ones like silver mountain water, virgin island water, green Irish tweed and the list goes on
💯
TBH...I've never understood why men take fragrance advice from other men. I've always wanted to know what women like...not what other men think women like or stories from other men on what women like.
I had a frag that I didn't know was a creed clone, but the nose behind it was a woman. Women seemed to like it over the original creed. Till this day, my most complimented frag
$25, but only last about 3-5 hours on my skin depending on how strong the wind is.
Doesn't feel like "me."
As for Aventus, I do quite like it, but there are so many similar scents and clones these days.
Nice video.
I'm a guy and SMW gives me the female reaction. I'm hugging my own sweaters at night with this fragrance on it lol.
When Aventus was first released I remember smelling it at Von Maur and was really underwhelmed by it honestly.
Me too!! I describe Roja Elysium as the fragrance Aventus was trying to be.
elysium was my introduction to niche 7mos ago, now i have 30 bottles of niche frags and 9 are from roja.
If given a free bottle i would sell it on ebay. I just dont get it? Does not smell good to me at all.
Swiss Alps in a bottle. I've been rocking SMW since the 90's. It's one of my favorites. My top Creed is Spice and Wood. Aventus is the ultimate suit fragrance for Men. It's that kind of fragrance.
women in my office looooove Silver Mountain Water. They like Aventus but SMW is on a different level as you've stated.
i just tried silver mountai water for the first time. and you are right i can understand why women would like that more its a different scent and less harsh than aventus. both great scents. decided to get the armaf versions of both.
You are killing it with these videos, great perspective! Hope you have a great day too.
tbh SMW for me smells rich and very clean but nothing really addictive or sexy.
She is not lying. I got the club de nuit knock off and get compliments ALL day when I wear it
male scents that men like vs men's scents that women like and the difference. Sold. Subscribed. i like the theory since there are some women's fragrances which are marketed as men magnets that I find nauseating to me. Respect. Subscribed.
Thank you!
You make a good point, I have seen a weird amount of SMW bottles owned by women compared to other creeds.
Very engaging perspective.
That video will help every fragrance enthusiast maximize the functionality of their collection.
I smelled Aventus at a Nordstrom once and I was NOT impressed. I bought Silver Mountain Water without smelling it and it is a fantastic fragrance. The “water” part of the title is key, because it doesn’t last that long, but it is an excellent scent. I have Green Irish Tweed coming tomorrow and I’m hoping that is great as well;
It is so true lately I am in love with oud and leather fragrances guys love masculine scents they usually say "Mmmmm you smell lovely or interesting", women, however, tend to prefer fresh fragrances.
SMW is Creeds dark horse.
I have had Creed Aventus for a while now but i hardly ever got compliments by women just every once in a while but fragrance like Halloween Man X i get compliments all the time and so yeah you are right i think Creed Aventus appeals more to men than women at least thats what i have generally experienced .
This is FAAAACTTTS!! My wife isn't even into frags like that, but I can't keep her off me when I spray on SMW!...It's 10000000% her favorite on me! 🙌🏼
🙌🏽🙌🏽
This is good content showing folks what really is attractive. The irony is in the lived experience more people noticed my middle eastern oils vs designer scents.
...but “noticed” can be positive or negative
I have SMW and I can agree. But combine Aventus with Green Irish Tweed and omg you can’t beat them off with a stick.
OMG!! Melissa is absolutely GORGEOUS!! Yeah, I agree with her on Silver Mountain water !
Recently bought silver mountain water in the travel size atomizers as well as a creed atomizer case. The fragrance is so weak. I remember having a bottle a few years ago and it seemed a lot stronger.
And that is why I wear Al Haramain's L'aventure. I don't feel I was robbed for money but still gets me close and I love to wear it.
Mine is Aventus cologne gets ladies attention. I have decant of SMW and I use it for sunday mass or funeral. How's the performance on your skin and if there's a chance, can you compare it to Xerjoff Mephisto and Mephisto Gentillumo.
Aventus Cologne > Aventus
@@melissanacional9662 I’m a guy here, I prefer my Aventus cologne to my Creed Aventus
I've gone through 2 bottles already! You nailed it with this review!
Agreed. SMW was my first creed fragrance I’ve brought. That’s after smelling the others
Great delivery and content Melissa. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Andre!
My favorite Creed is GIT, although SMW and Millesime Imperial are right up there also. Never got the hype with Aventus
Creed Royal Water is my refreshing summertime fragrance. I don't worry about who else likes or doesn't like it
Agreed Creed aventus is more of an executive type cologne it’s a fragrance that shows dominance. Something u wear to a meeting or when you’re tryna close a deal Armani code chrome chrome xtreme silver mountain water.💎💎
This is honestly facts. I wear Aventus but most of my female friends/family members go wild over SMW. I legit couldn't believe what I say when they smelled the bottle but its true. Great vid
Think I'll buy Sillage now.
I think u sold me on this one, tried about 4 Aventus fragrances at Nordstrom couple days ago. This was the only one my girlfriend really liked.👍😁
Men is generalizing.
Some of us don’t care to Panty drop, we wear because we love to smell the scent all day long.
Cheers young lady🥃💀🤘🏾
Aventus is everything, end of story ✨💯
Yeah I smelled it in Neimans. Wasn't blown away. A real hyped up fragrance
Xerjoff Nio is a great example of the point you were making.
Great Video! Thank You! What’s your opinion on Dark Cherry & Amber by Banana Republic? I bought it the other day
Thank you! I haven’t tried it yet! How do you like it?
I agree silver mountain water is one of my favorites of all time and ysl tuxedo.
I know you're talking about Creed but my club de Nuit gets me more compliments than any other of my fragrance by women and it's an Creed clone🤷🏿♂️
Is silver mountain water good for the gym?
I LOVE how real u r.
