I have a 1987 banshee , took fmf pipes off & Added T5s . I got the toomey kit new needles & jets , how do i tune it up to the new pipes.. please help me out if you can. Thank you
That's the most desirable Banshee build i've ever seen. Those pipes are Shearer sb, right? Do you recommend them for a bike with stock porting and the most commom bolt on's ( k&n, Vforce 3, adj. timing plate), cause i've got some SST's that give a nice torquier feel to the engine, but if i'm looking for more 1,5 k rpm from the engine, Shearers seen to be the pipes of choice. Thanks in advance.
South Texas Banshee i don't want to be annoying, but could i request your advice for jetting specs? I think there is room for improvement in my bike's performance, because the engine feels stronger at intermediate throttle positions, with 1/2 providing the best pull and overrev. My bike has: - stock porting and compression; -proflow adapter with k&n; -vforce 3 reeds; FMF SST pipes witk pc2 silencers; - timing set at +3 I'm currently running: - # 280 main jet; -Dynojet needle, clip in the 4th groove ( from blunt end); - stock pilot; I wish you the best luck for your surgery.
South Texas Banshee i've tried #310 on the main and it improved a lot at WOT, but i need to set the needlle a tad leaner, so i will be clip on the 3rd groove with the provided washer. That should put the jetting in the sweet spot. Thanks for your reply.
I've been trying to get my banshee to run correctly your videos have helped me a lot but I would like to go to the single carb I tried it once and it was running too lean would u happen to know anything about that would appreciate the help thank u
Aaron Davis You just need to make sure you don't have a air leaks, then start with plenty of main jet and work down to where you need to be. Do you remember what main jet you had in it
Hi south Texas banshee I have a question i see some people putting pod filters on there bike instead of the air box and then they complain about getting the pods wet when riding why do they even use pod filters does it allow mor air flow or what ?

Yea man I mean they're drag pipes but I have them on another bike and they work plenty good for trails. Couldn't be happier.

Sksum 66
I would try a bigger main, like 300 and switch the pilot to a 27.5 and see what that does. needle should be ok where you are.
