    One of the most professional hobby type videos I have seen on RUclips. The scenery is incredible and the quality of the images is first class. Even the background music is perfect.

    I was Turkey hunting in eastern MT last year and stepped right on a rattlesnake. Bit my pants. Luckily I had an extra set baggy pants on that day because I forgot my regular pants!

    I stepped within 6 inches of one the other day on the shoreline of fort peck, he was stretching and getting the last few minute's of sun light and I stepped and he coiled.
    He could have struck if he wanted to, but I think he was just happy letting me know he was there, the next day I was back in the shoreline working and whole driving my 6x6 can-am I came around a small corner and almost ran ine over, we both surprised each other, oh man, I haven't seen a snake move so fast

    I didn't know there was so many, in MT, some ppl have talked about hunting, in general, and say they've never seen snakes there, now hunting is usually, in colder weather, but there are some spring turkey seasons. so I guess if you guys have that many, hunting helps the ecosystem also. we can get a permit to hunt them or copperheads here in PA but it's only a limit of 1 of each and its only a 6 week season in july into august I think. And you can either keep them as a pet, kill them, or eat them I guess, I've had the meat, its ok I would'nt describe it as great, although, I think mine, at the time, was a western diamondback.

    If there's a large number of snakes in a area there is probably a larger amount of rodents so if you take away the predators there won't be any new growth

    • @maxsdad538
      @maxsdad538 Год назад +2

      He's not going to be carrying snake antivenom (it's a refrigerated prescription only medicine), and those snake bite kits we carried back in the 60's and 70's are useless. He's wearing boots and long, loose jeans in good condition... he's prepared.

      Usually you have a fair bit of time with a rattlesnake bite. Time is tissue don't get me wrong. However, it's not like a cobra where it'll kill you in an hour or two.

      Well I am glad you are using it for something other than just senselessly killing them. I happen to be a snake lover but also a field herpetologist and I do not harm snakes for any reason. Yes I have eaten rattlesnake before it is good. But I could never bring myself to kill any but maybe if I was actually starving and in that kind of situation yes then I would do it. Other than that I tried to get people to understand that snakes are very beneficial especially venomous ones there are all kinds of research being done and pills being made from snake venom that help people out daily if we kill off something we need then there goes that advanced research in medicine. There are some Venom's from certain species that actually kill cancer cells. So it is critical that we do not kill off all of the rattlesnakes or in general all the venomous species that live in America. They have a place in the ecosystem or they would not be here. There are things that survive on snakes like birds of prey and mammals and even other snakes. They are a huge asset to the ecosystem and how the food chain works. And I tried to encourage people to learn more about them they are not to be feared but only to be respected understood more and have a little compassion for them as well and given space and left alone.

    I saw a canebrake ga. rattler leave a thick wooded lot and crossing a road heading for trailer with big wheels and other childrens toys at dust. It had a grimise and i ran over it 6 times. Then i turned aroud and ran over it several more times. The next day i went back it died at the edge of the yard and road. I use to hunt and often i saw little children playing in the yard. Hopefully i saved a family a horrific child bite from a 5 ft Canebrake. This nonsence they are not evil.....go read the bible. Serpents do 1 thing strike. I saw a Indigo snake it seen me i saw him i knew he was a rattlesnakes worst night mare he flict his tongue and was very peacefull i had a gun but he was a good guy we went our ways 30min later i shot another Canebrake. Maybe that eas the Indigo snakes diner. 🐍
